Do not buy any Whirlpool product..


I had a very bad experience with services & customer care as well. Useless service.


Very irresponsible behavior, Whirlpool is the worst company in terms of quality products and after sales support.


I have purchased 310 L refrigerator in Oct 2012 from an electronics company in Agra. Since Oct 2012, the refrigerator is having too much noise from compression and door. They are agreeing that the compression and door is not proper, they charged for replacing it.


Rs. 2500 has been taken on Nov 2013 but from last 4 month with non responsive company not telling me when the replacement will happen and it is still not replaced. Complaints made daily from 30.11.2013 are falling flat on deaf ears.


I would request all not to buy Whirlpool refrigerator. The worst services and product in my life. Approx 20 complaints are closed without obtaining satisfaction code by service engineer. Calls are still pending.


Extremely poor. All their staff is poorly trained. Technically and professionally, the service is very laxed and irresponsible. I need to speak to some senior person with regards to some complaint but no one attended my call.


At  last, I intend to move to consumer court.

For those in hurry - The product is good and doesn't need much of maintenance. But when it stops working and you call the customer service, you are in for a surprise pathetic customer service.


I bought Whirlpool 2 door refrigerator in Mar-2009. It worked fine for last 4 years. However it stopped working(cooling the stuff) 10 days back. Hence called their service center. It takes 10 - 15 min waiting time before customer service guy attends you.


(Rs.15 gone before you talk to the guy!). They registered a complaint and said someone will call you in next 24 hours. But no one called. I called them back 20 min before the 24 hour waiting period to tell them that no one has yet called me.


The customer service guy arrogantly tells me that'please wait for 24 hours'. I said it is only 10 min remaining for the completion of 24 hours since I called yesterday'. He did not listed. Next day engg came and checked. He said he will have to replace one of the part.


We did, but it did not solve the problem. Then they said we will have to replace compressor. I agreed to do it(you need to pay for every thing including a Rs.300 visiting fee). However since then no body has come to replace the compressor.


I kept calling every day for last 15 days (every time have to wait for 10-15 min before the customer service guy attends me! it is not a toll free number!). After escalations, came to know that compressor for my refrigerator model are in short supply, and they declined to confirm the date when it will be available.


I am living without refrigerator for last 15 days. Have buy vegetables, fruits, milk products etc. every day to avoid spoiling. RIDICULOUS SERVICE!

Now with so many negative review and with all rating this brand a minimum possible one star; I think that even if I don't write then also people will be convinced that this is an utter nonsense brand. I was working at overseas in 2008 and after my marriage thought of returning to India.


I returned to India with my wife and joined a new company in India where I was posted at Rajasthan. Since we were newly married and had nothing in the name of household material so we started purchasing things for our house. Since, we had heard a lot about whirlpool and so we went ahead and blindly purchased Refrigerator and washing machine of Whirlpool make. After 2 years of staying in India, we again went to foreign and stayed there for around 2 years, during this time all our household equipment was idle and without any use.


My whirlpool white magic washing machine has asked repair number of times. Some time its circuit board goes off, some time its cntrol board goes off and sometime some other things happens. During its warranty period, the service guy replaced the material free of cost but after the warranty went off, I am being charged Rs. 285 just for the visit. over that the service guy whenever comes takes away another 2000 to 3500 just in the name of replacement. The service guy is more interested in making consumer drain their money.


I had gone for the annual maintenance contract which costed me around 2500 rupees and the AMC charges will further increase as your machine goes older. Now, if you buy a whirlpool product of say Rs. 15000 and plan to use it for 7 years then you should be ready to drain off Rs. 2500 to Rs 3000 annually so approx over Rs. 25000 for maintaining the machine. So your cumulative cost will be more than Rs. 50000. The service guy shamelessly says 3500 to 4000 as if he is asking to repair something which costs lakhs of rupees.


In my opinion never ever go for whirlpool product. Today itself I have paid 2000 Rupees for the repair and next time if my washing machine gives problem. I will happily throw it in the garbage or burn it and will go for some better brand.

A Little Background


Over the years, we have purchased many refrigerators of brands like Godrej, LG, Samsung, in our family and NEVER, I repeat NEVER ever we had to face any problem with the working of these refrigerators. They lasted for years without trouble. Never had to contact customer service for any kind of support etc. Whenever we upgraded, we simply gave them away or sold them.


A New Whirlpool Refrigerator


In 2012 April I decided to upgrade to a new refrigerator and this time around the candidate was Whirlpool Protton 313D DLX (300 lt). I was told by many in the family not to go for a Whirlpool make but I thought the brand must be good and I liked the looks also.


The refrigerator worked fine for sometime and thereafter there was problem with the cooling. Whirlpool customer service is excellent indeed. When I reported the problem, someone turned up immediately and sorted the issue (ice formation or something).


We experienced the same problem after a while again. This time also the Whirlpool service responded quickly and suggested that we put a voltage stabilizer. We bought the same from Whirpool only. This is when many other sensitive electronic items in my house run without any stabilizer!


Now again soon after the warranty got over, we faced the same issue again. Whirpool service responded very quickly indeed. The service persons checked the refrigerator and informed that TIMER and BIO SENSOR are gone and we need to replace them. We have no other option but to believe his word. Anyways got them replaced because you can't do without a refrigerator.


Now my main grudge is with the WHIRPOOL PRODUCT QUALITY and NOT with Whirlpool Service.


It looks like Whirpool uses very poor quality parts in manufacturing of its refrigerator. Or maybe there was something wrong with my refrigerator from the beginning itself which Whirlpool didn't set right and did a temporary fixing job and just waited for warranty to be over.


Refrigerator is something that doesn't fail repeatedly. At least that is how I have gotten used to think about this item based on a 100 years old proven technology.


But WHIRLPOOL has successfully changed my thinking. I realize I made a mistake by buying this refrigerator.


I made several attempts to send my feedback to Whirlpool on their website. Every time it showed some or the other error. But it actually went and I got a pre- scripted reply from their customer care that my problem had been rectified which I never disputed in the first place. But I had to pay for the rectification. I thought they they might be worried why this is happening to the refrigerators in the first place.


My suggestion is that if you are buying a refrigerator this season think twice before opting for WHIRLPOOL make refrigerators. I have a feeling that they aren't using quality material to manufacture their product. I'M TOTALLY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT.


Whirlpool service just a mirage

Hi I just called up whirlpool service - CN0913042410 to set right my whirlpool ice-magic f26 dlx steel fridge which was not cooling properly.The service person came and touched the back compressor and it was too hot so he told I have to change the compressor and it would cost Rs 6200 for the compressor + gas filling.


I told him that I have to think over it and he just took the customer satisfaction code from me and the service charge of rs280 for doing nothing and went away.He told me to keep the fridge switched off till I changed the compressor.I turned on the fridge after some time and seems to be cooling little now.


Are these service people really bothered about the product or the consumer, or only about taking the money and the customer satisfaction code and doing nothing.Never expected this from a leading brand....pathetic and reckless customer service.

I am one of the victim of your poor service from WHIRPOOL. I purchased  fridge from local dealer 5 years back. no dough it worked fine. Some days back it stopped working. For the same, I registered the complain, after visiting the technician he said COMPRESSOR iS failed. COMPRESSOR is under warranty for 5 years. so compressor replaced by the company.


Next day again, fridge stopped working. So I registered the complain. It was in FEBRUARY till date my fridge is not repaired. Whenever I am calling for my FRIDGE, I just getting the reply  TWO MORE DAYS SIR.


now itz 5th month now. STILL MY FRIDGE IS NOT REPAIRED.


after loosing my patience I started calling Customer care they told me to contact Miss. I got the same reply from her saying give me four days Sir. L do your work, after 5 days I called her. she said Sir more TEN days. from her side also the same FALLS COMMITMENTS (very bad). so today morning I called customer care, one guy spoke to me Mr after listening my full story. he said I call you @ 11PM. he dnt called, than again I called @ 11:30pm one guy answered the phone n told me Mr.......... is gone for BREAK.Than I phone again at 4:30pm. i got reply hez not there, than he gave me the number of Mr.........(mob:). when I spoke to him he reply  the same GIVE


MORE TWO DAYS :)


Now 5 months nothing happend.. so I decided to go for new fridge of other COMPANY  (no more WHIRPOOL)  hope thiz compny wont cheat in the name of WARRANTY.

Never Purchase Whirlpool Refrigerator

This is Pankaj Kr. Rai, I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator in 2010, it is having several issues since beginning, when ever I complained they came and rectified. But last year in October 2012, its Compressor got corrupted and when I called they asked for visit and other gas filling charges, because compressor is under warranty.  But within a month same compressor that Whirlpool changed, got corrupted again and in second time after several days, company changed this faulty compressor second time in December 12, also they changed thermostat, blaming it for malfunction in compressor. Again same compressor stopped working and then When I complained company charged for gas refill and again repaired on 22nd May 13, on 26th May 13 same compressor again stopped working.


Still compressor is under warranty, but when ever I am complaining they are just opening a request and closing after a week, by writing whatever they want. I can provide last two complaint numbers, which were closed internally without providing any resolution.


Service Request number: DL0513018309 was created on 19th May, engineer visited on 22nd may 13, charged Rs. 1200 for gas and repaired. Again on 25th May, same compressor stopped working.


Service Request number: DL0513027252 was created on 26th May 13. Engineer visited and confirmed that compressor need to be replaced. After that no service. He confirmed that he dont know why compressor is getting corrupted. His remark was that in last few months all compressors supplied by Whirlpool were of not good. This request was not worked and they closed the request internally. The fact is after 26th no one called or visited, they closed call internally.


Service Request number: DL0613004956 was created on 5th June 13, and remark maintained by service engineer is that customer refused to pay. According to whirlpool service manual, any repair within one month will not require payment second time. This call was for replacement of refrigerator and it was communicated by support center that within 2 days some of company representative will collect my original purchase receipt and process product exchange and it will take 21 days. Fact is that no one visited or called, they just closed the call.


Service Request number: DL0613013874 was created on 14th June 13. No one is even trying to know from Whirlpool that whether their engineers are not capable or their compressors are of so inferior quality that it is not able to last for 1-2 months.


After every complaint, their service center is opening one service request and without replacing faulty refrigerator, they acer closing the call.


I mailed several times to helpdeskindia@whirlpo mustol.com, whirlpool_soshead@caretelindia.com, whirlpool_sosteam_delhi@caretelindia.com but of no use. They are even not replying mails.


Still if you want to purchase, its your wish.

Senior person in whirpool, if you have any courtesy( jara si bhi sharam hai) then come on phone during the complaint request by customers who want to speak you.

I am totally dissatisfied by the irresponsible behavior of Whirlpool employees. The disconnect my call whenever I call them to log complaint about my long pending Refrigerator issue (Since 7th May 2013). In addition to that the escalation manager is such irresponsible and doesn't want to take ownership of issues, instead he simple asks the agent to say that he is busy in meeting and disconnect the call. I tried about 5 times out of which he picked the first time and rest of 4 times he false commits via agent that he will give a cal with in 1 hour.


His name is Parthasarathy. The irresponsible agents who where just passing time by giving a false commitments were Ram, Arif, Ganesh, Moorthy and sivakumar. These guyz always disconnected when I give a call. Is this the service provided by the Whirlpool and its agency Sri Saisaran Service (Medavakkam) Ph.No:- 044-42830165.


I have fridge issue since May 7th. The Sri Saisaran Service guy (Subramaniam) came and he troubleshooted the fridge and said that the Compressor is fine there is issue with GAS block.


After doing something he said the issue is resolved and tricked us to give the satisfaction code. They closed the ticket with that code without our knowledge. The Issue was still there. I called the service center many times and they came again Subramaniam (Technician) and Balasubramaniam (SPOC for escalation). Balasubramnian told that he will make sure the issue will be resolved and I can call him directly. This time the technician said that there is issue with compressor.


The technician doesn't even know to troubleshoot he told that the compressor is good and later he says the compressor is bad. I am sure he did something and tampered the compressor. When I call Balasubramaniam as he told me to call directly, he speaks rudely and says that he won't do anything and I have to call his office Sri Saisaran Service.


Since the old ticket was closed by cheating us. I thought creating new ticket will resolve the issue and I strictly told the customer care not to close the ticket until I say. This ticket was raised on 15th May 2013 and without my knowledge it was closed on 18th May 2013.


Such an irresponsible customer care and cheating service agencies Whirlpool has. When I call Sri Saisaran Service, Vijay picks the call and says that the complaint will be opened only for 3 days and if the issue is resolved or not it will be closed. Such a false commitment and cheats Whirlpool and its agencies has.


I called on 20th and ordered new compressor and it's been a week now, still it hasn't arrived. I was calling the agency daily about the compressor and they were repeatedly giving false commitments that the it will come next day. When I called customer care to escalate this irresponsible and rude behaviour of Agency. I was surprised to hear that the new ticket was also closed stating that "Customer refused to pay" on 18th May 2013. It didn't had any update stating that I called on 20th May 2013 and ordered new compressor.


Just to save their SLA(Service Level Agreement) between Customer care and Agencies. They take customer for a toss and close the tickets without resolving their issues. They don't even bother to understand the feelings and frustration of customer. Such a pathetic service is provided by Whirlpool and its agency Sri Saisaran Service.


If I say I will escalate since the issue is not resolved, both the Customer care and the Agency starts to speak rudely as if no one will ask or question them, for their rude and irresponsible behavior. I believe We the customer pay them and they are suppose to understand the customer feelings and have to resolve their issues rather than hurting their feelings and playing around with the customer.


I may be rude in my email because I have gone through such an harassment for a month now. I don't have any hope from whirlpool (its service and its agencies).


I strongly recommend my friends, colleagues, neighbors, relatives and others not to encourage the Whirlpool business by purchasing their products. I have raised this complaint in consumer complaints, Mouthshut and other grievance websites.

Brought 2 ACs whirlpool 3d cool 5 star 1.5 tons. Claims to cool ur world in 5 min. Can't cool my 168 sq ft office even at 19 degree  for 1 hr. Whirlpool service guy says cooling is normal. Never never buy this ac. My Videocon 1.5 ton 2 star 4 yr old chills me in flat 10 min. My Samsung 3 star 1.5 ton does the same  even after 6 years.

I bought ice magic in 2006. But within these 7 years  we got problem every other year. Compressor change 2 times, gad filling for more than 4 times. Modular change.


Lots of that kind of problems we are facing. Last experience we can never forget. Till last 16 days complain done 5 times it can not repaired by company service station.  If you want to repair your freeze please call other mechanics than company service station.

I bought  250 lt mastermind on 26/02/2011. Exactly after 2 year 1 month the electronic module failed, before 3 days. Up to now it is not attended. There is no part available.Is Whirlpool fridges are designed to fail in 2 yrs 1 month time?

I bought the Whirlpool Proton Series Refrigerator in Nov 2010 and since then every year there has been a cooling issue!


I have to call Whirlpool Servicing and pay min Rs. 2000 towards their visiting charges and repairs. It is very disturbing to know that they command a premium and offer such an inferior quality product!!

Cannot sleep during night due to the NOISE this refrigerator makes........Its noisy right from the DAY ONE.............We bought it just April 2012.... I REGRET buying this Whirlpool product..... The service guys are playing down the problem saying that when the compressor cools it will make noise...Its not my first purchase , I already been using SAMSUNG... I bought this stupid one only because it had 3 door feature,,,,, YOU MAY buy this refrigerator if you dont mind staying home with ear plugs or ear muff on you.....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS.I (In fact My Father) bought a Whirlpool Frost Free 310 Litres Iceberg Elite Steel double door Refrigerator in May 2007 for a cost of Rs.23000 From Viveks Limited, T.Nagar, Chennai.


5 years Warranty Ended in May 2012.Just after 4 months, 4 days after end of the Warranty Date, my Refrigerator started making noise from Rear and stopped chilling!!!I Booked with Service and they sent me a Service Personal (Named Naveen, form Whirlpool Authorized Service Center) the next day. He checked and said, there is a Gas Leak from Compressor. And it needed a weld to correct the problem.


Two day after, an another guy (Sent by Naveen) arrived with Tools and Gas welding equipment. He Checked and said the tray for defroster is filled with water and dust and so the Pipe for compressor passing by the tray (which is immersed is the dust water) has got Rusted and Damaged and is now leaking and Can not be welded or Repair.


We asked him the Remedy and he coolly replied, "Take this Refrigerator to the Whirlpool center (Or from Where you bought it) and they will take the old for half the price and you will get an another new one for a price tag of around Rs.14000!!!".


This is ridiculous.. Just 5 years of use and now I got to replace it for new? WHY??


This is like a joke.. If you have a car and a door gets damaged due to rust, will you change the whole Car..


Bullshit..


I am asking the blood s*cking Whirlpool these Question


1) "Is your Product life just 5 years??",


2) "Is your product Good to use only until the Warranty period??" (Ah what a trick..).


3) "What will be result with Cellphone product of yours with 1 or 2 yrs Warranty? Customers have to throw them off in just 2 yrs??

Not only this, the Sales department is also Worst.. when they Delivered the Refrigerator to me, The demonstrator never told us about the Cleaning of the Tray which Mr.Naveen said to my now (just 2 days ago) that I have had to clean that Tray system regularly.. Not even the manual Says about that cleaning process..


Shame on you Whirlpool..


My father bought a kelvinator Refrigerator in 1989. It was working 100% perfectly without any problem for 2 decades.. It was a gem.. I sold it in 2009 it because it was old, small, it occupied some useful space at home and rusted a lot.. But was working great..!! If Kelvinator company is still Alive, I will go for it.. But no.. Its Fate my father had to buy Whirlpool..


I will also inform to all my known and by every possible mode "Not to buy Whirlpool products"..


Buy whirlpool Products only "if u want to keep the product running upto Warranty ".  Product is best for 5 yrs (upto end of warranty period) and after that, u will have to throw it away for sure..


I swear, I will NEVER EVER buy Whirlpool product in future..

On opening the whirlpool refrigerator  (2008 model) warm air was coming out . the fridge mechanic later gave us a list 5 other users who had the same problem, in some cases resulting in fire!


Reason: some heater part is mounted on top. They told us go for samsung refrigerator which has the respective part on the lower side!

The product quality is very low and its durability is extremely low. Inspite of numerous calls to the  service centre the service provided to us was very low grade. I strongly suggest not to buy whirlpool e 30 elite.
