I'm having the worst electronic experience of my life with a Whirlpool refrigerator(2 door, 310ltr). The fridge has had a cooling problem for over a year and I've spent over Rs. 6000 to repair it each time. All this while, the gasket has been loose and the door fitting was improper. This however was discovered after I've already spent a fortune changing different parts. Finally it was me who forced the engineer to look into the door issue after which he agreed that it was the door that was creating other cooling problems. There was no way to repair the gasket or the ill fitting door and I was forced to buy a new door costing Rs. 6000. I agreed and paid cash to the engineer. The door was to arrive in a week. But when the door arrived, it was of a different colour as opposed to the colour that was ordered and which matched the fridge. I hence sent it back and was assured that the right colour would delivered in 2 days. A month passed with me calling Whirlpool customer care as well as the Service Centre Francise but to no avail. Finally, after a month, the service centre informs me that the door is not available. I had to manage life without a fridge all this time.


That's not all. It's been a week since they informed me that the door was not available. Now they're harassing me with the return of the Rs. 6000 I paid for the door. The engineer has made me wait at home at least 15 times saying that he's arriving but just doesn't turn up. I've made atleast a 100 phone calls between Whirlpool and the Service Centre.


I sincerely advice you not to even glance in the direction of a Whirlpool product. And the disgusting service centre is called Comfort Cool(Santacruz E). Their staff are arrogant, lying, shameless individuals with no concept of customer care or service.

Horrible, worst mistake of my life

Works only for some few initial days. Horrible compressor problems, no regulated cooling, and severe malfunctioning problems. Save yourself and don't buy this machine, 3 compressor changes in 5 years, very poor service, technicians don't know how to fix so don't buy and waste ur money.


You will spend 8-9 thousands in repairing and filling Gas in compressor and by end of 5 years it will stop working with no value and lousy customer service will not be able to fix it.

Everyone of u know whirlpool. Know for its brand but as they say GOD is in detail. So here it is. I took a whirlpool refrigerator and had some problem in freezer so here come the service person and says to replace coil since 1 month I am a regular guy who call all the service people in Whirlpool.


Why all because I keep getting different people numbers to call many a time these people just wont pick your call and in gods grace if they pick they wont speak properly as they r in a hurry to drop the call from 10-20-30 days I am running behind all these people I have 8 different numbers now I and my family are going under the worst as refrigerator is a must in our day to day life .Well its 35th day and know what the customer service says'Sir we will try to do it as fast as we can'.


Well in past 35 days I've lost my temper /peace/family peace and my health. Dear friends it's up to you I've learnt the hard way Never buy Whirlpool see its complaint its never withe product but 99% its after sale service.Thus pick a product with best after sale service.you will live longer. Happier.

Think never about Whirlpool !

The first thing I would say is'Never buy this product'. Because, Just after one year of warranty period, the refrigerator started showing trouble of no cooling.(After buying the service engineer was called and shown the noise made by the fridge, which I felt was abnormal. But he said it was ok.) The fridge was taken to the service center and was kept there for 7 days and it was returned, they said some chokage in pipelines was suspected but it ran there without any trouble. They said they did not alter anything. But I found the noise I mentioned earlier had lessened and the functioning was alright. But after around 40 days, I found, though there is some sound showing the refrigerator is running, the cooling effect had drastically reduced and there is a bit of bad odor when the door is opened.


If such products are high end product and the quality is not matching with the brand name's reputation, why buy or rather I would say why think about'Whirlpool'?

It was Onam festival season August 2009 in Kerala and catalyst"ed" by the gimmicks thrown from various dealers , we decided to retire our 22 year old Kelvinator refrigerator (which was working perfectly) and decided to go for a new one (bigger and better features). We had several models into consideration (like all poor Indian consumers) and decided to go for Whirlpool Mastermind 26 elite .


The reasons why we mainly opted this.


1) Felt perfectly suiting for my home where my dad and mom stays alone and with occational visits by us (children) and relatives


In between - I work out of bangalore and my dad and mom stays at home town who use this.


2) Heard lot of negative feed backs from relatives and friends about Godreg , LG and VIDEOCON . Also didnt have a budget to go for brands like Hitachi


3) Summer in Kerala is exhausting , it has ice acceleration which makes ice quick


Let me sum up the good points


------------------------------------------


1) It cools well (which I belive is what all refrigerators are meant for)


2) Makes ice quick


Now the depressing and dont buy factors


1) By 2011 Janvary (1 year 4 months) we started seeing signs of rust on body. Started with the top right most end portion which is not ever touched by hand .Since we were into some family emergencies , coudnt report to Whirlpool service


2) We reported it on 11th June 2011. After 2 days a support person visited and examined. he told compressor works good , cooling is good. Body is not covered under warranty but he will inform his center(I am still confused and not understanding how we can operate a refrigerator with compressor alone and no body!!). After some days my dad got a call mentoning the problem is resolved and they are going to close the case. Dad told it is not. (my dad is 66 years old and he suffers from a bit of memory loss. besides he is not aggresive ( like a 32 year old guy like me ) to follow up with these service guys aggresively. Since I work at bangalore and is bugged with hectic schedules and work related issues , dad didnt want to bother me with this as he thought these issues were minor and could be handled by himself


3)Again on August 2011 we had a major loss in our close family and the concerns regarding refrigerator were lost along with that.


4) last week (December 11th) I went home town for a 4 day visit and happened to have a look at the refregirator. I have attached the photographs of what I saw. 5) I immediately approaced the dealer who was kind enough to see the snaps and opened a case with Whirlpool again.


6) We had a technician visit the next day and was told the same story again. He told the general fix for these kind of issues is to scrub and repaint !!!!! Even he himself told that kinda fix will worn off after a year or so. He 100% agrred that within a 2year 3 months period, if a refrigirator reaches this condition , it has purely to do with the raw materials used to manufacture the body. So I decided to take it up with Whirlpool directly.


7) The first step was to have a discussion with the service center manager. I share my experience below


> He did a casual look at the snaps I showed him. He smiled and told this is body rust we can repaint and give it back and we will "only" charge you for the paint and labour !! what does that mean? If I had to repaint my 2 year old refrigirator as he told, why should I give it to a Whirlpool service center ? I know local techinicians who are in the body repainting buisness for last 15 to 20 years. So why not them? I asked the manager the same question. He said " yes I agree sir , even people who stays 50 to 60 km away from service center does it with local techinicians as it makes no sense to bring it here (considering the icurring cost for transportation). !!!!!


So basically he wanted to convey below


1) We cant help you but if you want some help we can scrub and paint for which we will charge the entire cost


2) If you dont want that you can approach a local techinican and get the job done or live with what you got


I was honeslty expecting a body replacement or some sort of settlement. I kept on stressing this which made the manager upset. His tone changed . We had a word exchange. He challanged me to go to any court or association and said I will not get justice from any where as the equipment is already 2 year old. I told him again and again that I reported it after 1 year 6 months. He told that is also too late!!. So what did he mean?? , the rusting should have been even faster ?, like, say within a month after purchase??. I felt humiliated with his comments. After spending Rs.17500 on cash for a product, which I belived worth the money , the experience and treatment I got from after sales has made me mentaly dipressed.


i am planning to approach consumer court with details . Before that, I wanted to share my experience with other guys who are planning to purchase Whirlpool Refrigerators or products. Beware !!


Lesson to keep in mind while buying refrigerators apart from star rating ( mine is 4 star rated!!)


1) Ask dealer how many years warranty does the company gives for body and what all are included in that


2)How many years warranty does the compressor and other components has (including electrical controls). My micro contoller controlled sensors works when it likes (some times you have to attempt several times on the soft touch buttons to change modes. The technician who told said that can be fixed by panel replacement which will again be charged).


I will post back once I get response from Whirlpool Officials as I have decided to go in full swing.

Fridge and its replacements defective

I had purchased a fridge from Whirlpool. However, it was found defective (water leaking from the bottom). Company sent two replacements and both had more defects than the previous fridge. After which they decided to take the fridge back. After continuous follow-up, significant mental agony and domestic troubles, they have refunded the amount but not given any compensation for the inconveniences caused.


All invoices, delivery challans, follow-up letters to the Managing Director are available. Fridge purchased on 26th June 2011, 1st replacement on 6th August and 2nd replacement on 17th August and refund letter on 4th November 2011. Complaint number MB0711011878.

Kindly note Any of this complaints has nothing to do with the quality of after sales service support given by Whirlpool, it is with quality of products.


This is  to bring to your kind attention of  Whirlpool appliances'product quality' I own


1)A Whirlpool Refrigerator single door.


2)A whirlpool Stabilizer Duromax for Refrigerator.


3)A whirlpool Washing Machine.


The  true story goes like this.


After a year of purchase of Refrigerator, It refused to start one day(I am doubtful about the timing, Just after expiry of the Warranty).A starter part was changed and the  reason for the fault was voltage fluctuation, I was  recommended a Stabilizer by engineer, I am  still not  convinced, that how come voltage fluctuation was the reason, The refrigerator was protected by its inbuilt statbalizer(as per the manual and sticker)+ 5kv automatic voltage regulator installed at mains.Total service cost was around 900 rs.


So here  comes the Whirlpool Stabilizer for my Whirlpool refrigerator, Now the after 3 months of purchase, It started creating problem, The'Wait' red colored led does not automatically switches to Green OK LED and I have to manually switch off the Stabilizer  to make it work.i have already loged a complaint with No.HR1211003547 and awaiting for the engineer.


Now   just after  a year of purchase of  whirlpool Washing machine  it is making a loud noise(I am again  doubtful about the timing, Just after a year, But thankfully its under warranty), Loged a complaint  no is: HR1211003383  awaiting for the engineer.


I seriously want to know is,  why whirlpool making  such substandard product that just last for some months or year or 2?And its not a coincidence all three of them from Whirlpool, this will certainly  refrain me to buy any whirlpool product in future and will definitely will not recommend  to  my family or friends  (always remember Mouth publicity let  it be positive or negative  is  very effective).I just want  Whirlpool to  look into there Product Quality standards   or else face  the destiny which didn't seems to be brighter as of now.

I am Anil Gupta. I had made a complain for my fully automatic washing Sensation DLX machine 6.5 kg on 24/09/2011, which come under service contract. One person came Mr sunil chauhan checked and told us door lock to be replaced which will come within 3-4 days. But


that part not came and now nobody is listening or not replying when it will solved. every day I called every day on coustomer care no. and they are telling every today your problem will be solved today.sir, I am sending a reminder to service person or some other promise


I had send one email on Oct. 12, 2011 regarding this problem to company. But no reply came. After 25 days engineer came and changed the door switch and told me "now sir your drum is jammed because machine is idle last 25 days so you can change your machine with new washing machine with 50% replacement value.' After that 4 days latter I agreed for changing option and I had selected 360 bloom wash machine. Company branch manager(Mr Ravi) told me after calculation please make Rs15, 000/- D.D. and your machine will come with in 15 days. I had given D.D. on 21/10/2011 and again after 7 days gone but no reply came so again I contact engineer Mr. Niyaji(vahsi branch)  he told me please give a xerox copy of your old machine and service contract then it consider than I gave all documents. now again 4-5 days gone but no reply from company. Again I contacted on 02/11/2011 they told me it will come with in 2 days.


Now company send washing machine(on 05/11/2011 bill also not provided) which is already used one(may be for demo or other purpose). Washing machine not having Rat mesh, Threaded foot screw and other washing products already used and empty pouch of comforts etc. Inside drum having water spot also used filter. Again I called Branch manager Mr. Ravi regarding this. As company poor response he told me that he will send his engineer same day. After two days his engineer came and confirm the missing iteams and other issues. Company not send bill for this machine also. Again engineer told me give a xerox copy of delivery paper and your machine will replace with in 15 days after talking with branch.


So again I am waiting. for my machine.


Please help me, more than 1 month gone. 3 email also send to company hepldesk but no reply from company also.


So guys don't buy Whirlpool washing machine because with in 5 year machine not working and also company provide   worse to worse service.


Go for the Beauty; this is a COOL fridge

This Fridge is truly marvelous and is a good performer as well.


This is my Eighth Successful and Satisfied Year with this Product.


Today I'm going to Bid farewell to this Smart Beauty, just because my Little Princess(3.5 years and growing) needs more space for her Badam Drinks and Chocolates.


I'll be upgrading to a Samsung RT141LSPN, just because I could not find an upgrade for my Genius on the Whirlpool Series.(The Whirlpool Proton Model is out dated style).


Very Light Weight, and I could grab it on my Back with no others help to the Courier truck, when I transported it to Chennai.


The Looks are good, and I had tried it to sell two times. Both these times, my Mom discouraged me because she likes it too much.


I Recommend this to all Bachelors and Small Families.


I give full points to Service and Support just because I never needed to dial a service number.


I left'her' idling for some 1 year when I was abroad, and once I came back, did a wash with Lime juice and toothpaste, rinsed with water, and she was happy and strong to be back on service.

I bough product is 2005 as one with best warranty and extended support available.


Always facing problems. After 2/3 attempts to fix issue with refirgerator Compressor was replaced in 2007. One controller(do not recollect part name) replaced thrice.


I had renewed service contract in Feb-2011. They do not update records and you have to give photocopy receipts every time. This is case till today. 28-Sep-11


In May 2011 back panel melted due to failure of some part. They could not source panel. They failed to do temporary fix with faied part replacement and panel fix.


Even though had AMC; I had to get fixed by local mechanic.


In Sep-11 refrigerator started making lot of noise and cooling became problem. Engineer did not acknowledge it. On second complaint he said heill refill GAS. I had to provide photocopy of AMC so that I do not get charged for this.


Post this within week cooling became problem. Ice started forming in chiller tray compartment and vegetable moisture started turning to ice.


Water started flowing from top panel of refrigeration section.(next to chill tray).


Records still not updated.


STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. NOTHING HAS CHANGED EVEN AFTER CALLING WHIRLPOOL OFFICE. EVERYTIME I HAD TO CALL THEM AS ACTUAL SUPPORT IS FROM FRANCHICE.

THE WORST AFTER SALES SERVICE, WHERE WE HAVE TO KEEP CALLING THE MANAGER TO SWEEPER TO KNOW ABOUT THE STATUS OF SPARES AVAILABILITY FOR WHICH WE WOULD BE PAYING A HUGE AMOUNT. THE MANAGERS IN THE SERVICE CENTRE(CHENNAI) ARE THE BIGGEST LIARS AND USELESS GUYS. THE SERVICE ENGINEERS DO NOT KNOW WHETHER THE PARTS ARE UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY SIMPLY CHARGE THE CUSTOMERS. THEY CHARGE HEAVILY FOR THEIR PRODUCTS AND NEVER BOTHER TO GIVE THEM A COURTEOS SERVICE. I WOULD NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFE AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.

Delivered defective refrigerator from QRS Kerala

I bought a Whirlpool ‘Master Mind 250 Deluxe 5 star 12276 (DUET MEROON)’ refrigerator on May 2011 from QRS Trivandrum.


It got delivered on 22nd May 2011 and from the beginning it had problems. It was not cooling, refrigerator door was not closing properly and the chiller tray below freezer compartment was broken.


Service technician (Mr. Vishnu) visited on 26th May 2011 and changed 2 parts and the refrigerator started cooling. He took the request to change the door and chiller but till date it is not replaced.


It’s been three monthsand no one really responds to my call properly and assures each time that they will call back which never happened.


Please resolve this issue immediately or take back this defective refrigerator and give my money back so that I can buy a GOOD BRAND refrigerator.

I had purchased whirlpool washing machine and refrigerator... and thanx to the pathetic, useless, reckless and atrocious products and their after sales services that both of these went out of order in less than 5 years... the fridge costing 18000/- (285 L icemagic) went through series of repairs in last 5 years.. I shelved out another 6000 on that piece of crap. The fridge had to be replaced the next day I purchased...and the guys of whirlpool said it ispossible. Very good. Excellent man.


Thats what one expects when you buy a new appliance... this aptly resembles the policy these guys work on... I referred this matter to mumbai as well as delhi corporate but you see that who cares for after sales...


When you buy whirlpool you not only buy a piece of useless stuff but you get headache, agony, frustratiion as freebies without any extra cost...


I was lucky that my fridge fetched me 500 rs and washing machine 200 rs... thats what the real price of product is...

Whirlpool Protton F 330L Delux - please DO NOT BUY

I own a Whirlpool Protton F 330L Delux which is barely a year old. I brought it with great expectations, Whirlpool being a so called company producing world class refrigerators. Thing went on fine for a year.


But just after the day the first year warranty got over.the fridge developed some problems and there was no cooling. The service ppl came .it was attributed to gas leak. Even though it was just a day after a year.we had to shell out full Rs.2500 for the gas change+ Rs. 330 for the service charges.


With in a month. the problem repeated and the service ppl were shame faced enough not to charge for the gas refilling.


Then the same problem occurred after a week again. And now my fridge is visited every day by different service engineers who are trying to find a solution to the problem. It seems there is an internal gas leak. We are hopeful that this defective product will be replaced.but do not know when.


The problem with such big companies is that we can never reach a person in high authority who make fast decisions and give faster resolution to customers. They make us wait for the maximum possible time.knowing well how difficult it is to get on without  a fridge.


Ours is a joint family and we bought this fridge as we needed a big one to cater our needs. Now life has become very irritating with food and milk getting spoilt every day!


Please Please DO NOT BUY any high end fridges from Whirlpool. Their after sales service is not that good.


Extreme care is needed when using the vegetable drawer else the rollers break with in six months!

Terrible product! Worst ever Customer Care

I have bought this refrigerator in April 2011 and it worked for  hardly 3 months. In the month of July it stopped working. There was no  cooling.


We raised a complaint and one of the Whirlpool service  engineers fixed it. Today as of 22nd August 2011, it is not working  again. There is no cooling. No response from customer care either!  Please do not buy a Whirlpool product. Worst ever product and worst ever customer care!

Terrific trouble free cooling for 10 years but lousy service from Whirlpool's Ghaziabad office. They promised to help me correct the broken lid of the chiller section but nothing happened. Buy a whirlpool fridge and even the AC is good but be careful, they wont help you replace any broken parts, specially if the device is old; but old is when you need service not when it is new.


Now to fill up the mandatory 75 word condition.

Poor durability pathetic service

The door hinge of our fridge broke. IT should not have broke. as this is simple daily home use. the durability is very poor. the service is even more pathetic.


Its been many frustrating days and still am not able to get it fixed. The service centre guys are rude, il-informed and linguistically retarded.


When some one finally came to our house they took away the faulty hinge and brought back a completely different hinge and hoped that it will work. when it did not. he says he cannot help.


I will never buy a whirlpool again.

This is for Bangaloreans - Whirlpool has service centres and if you call them an 'engineer' comes out for a fee and fixes the refrigerator. I dealt with them (Genius Service Centre) for 5 months and still had a non-functioning fridge at the end of it - and we paid a very large sum because they said we had to replace the compressor and other parts at the beginning, but after doing that, even though they kept coming, the fridge didn't get fixed.


Speaking to their head office just got us another visit which didn't help. We have now bought an LG fridge and will never be buying Whirlpool again.

Less durable Whirlpool fridges & poor cust service

My 3-4 year old Whirlpool Ice Magic 230L DLX door hinge failed and I reported it to customer care. The service engineer visited and said  the part is not readily available, it needs to be ordered & will fix the door once the part arrives. It's been more that 2 months, we heard only stories on part arrival, but no fix till date. Customercare inefficient & is not bothered about the customers.


In my opinion, Whirlpool products are less durable & customer service is really worst & pathetic. I have many LG products at my home, never faced major problems in last 10 years and for the few issues I had, service personnel came & fixed within a day which is commendable.
