Bad product service
Apr 14, 2016 01:07 PM6684 Views (via Android App)

I have one of these convection ovens at my home and it has been a while using it.

The oven cooks on the principle of convection heat transfer and cooks the food well enough. But sometimes it cannot judge about the timing and temperature of a few meals and over cooks them.

There are a few issues during the use course like power some times goes off and switches on unexpectedly. We called to service center but hardly any one came, then we took it on our own for fixing problems but it was expensive. I would prefer to go for LG or other brands.

Whirpool Refrigerator Horrable product and service

I had purchased Whirlpool MasterMind Elite 30(280Ltr) refrigerator on August2010. After 18 Months we faced issue with Power board. We called   customer care but we didn't get proper response, even they never called  back and didn't give proper estimation time to replace the Power Board. They are telling Board has been breakdown because of voltage fluctuation  but in manual guide its written that the machine has stabilizer free Operation. At the time of Buy no one has advise to take external stabilizer.

Whirlpool Products having good reputation in Indian market specially for  refrigerators, but within 18 months this high end product giving  problem, its like your products work properly only within warranty period once warranty period is over it started giving problems, that is too bad  we had never expected such things.

Even I am not getting proper solution  for that, and you people are charging more amount Approx 3500 this is  too high for 18 months usage. I have complained on 26th of March and its more 10 days and we didn't  get that Board. This is very Poor service and I am facing first time with any product.

Good Machine - 22C
Jan 15, 2012 07:37 PM9430 Views

I bought the Convection microwave-22c from Rathna stores and its been 3 years now, the Machine has almost replaced my gas stove with an exception to Chappathi’s and Dal cooking. The Dosa’s are really crisp and oil free, The Browning effect is extremely even from all sides. The drop down door design helps in day to day Indian cooking where mixing is maximum.

I rate this among the best of the machines I have used and heard from my friends. Suggestion: Regular/Proper cleaning will give a better life to the machine.

Whirlpool as a compnay itself is Unbearable

Unluckly I somehow ended up having a fridge and a microwave from whirlpool and before I could realize what a blunder I have done it was way too late.

They have a service centre which takes call and promises to get back in 24 hrs. Thats it. It doesnt function beyond tht. Engineers close you requested as serviced without even visiting your premise or even looking or hearing your problem. And when u get back for follow up u hear things like sir your request is not logged with us. Oh sorry yes it is there but its a washing machine rite.

I mean how can you compare a microwave with a washing machine. Hillarious.. no irritating frustatin nagging. I would like to use the F word for this company. I cant wait for the fall of this company. It should be closed and liquidated.

My fridge makes more noise than the autorickshaw crossing my street but no one to look into it. There is constant problem of water dripping from it. And its been only 2 yrs. I thought the life of a fridge was more. And add to that the non chalant behaviour of the service centre. It was my mistake even though the whirlpool fridge was more expensive than other brands I went for it thinking it was a well reputed company.

Well reputed company my foot!

I wish I can file for liquidation of the company and its owners.

Spent a large sum of money to buy a good Branded (Whirlpool) Top Line product. But Ended promising that I will never buy Whirlpool again.

Worth less company Cheaters making money on their own quality issues which they themselves cannot fix. Their Technician takes Rs 400 per visit just like a doctor & fixes something which ageaing breaks down the next day. This is an example in a metro city just think how their performance will be in a non metro.

The company will surely fail if something is not done. Please never buy Whirlpool or you will feel cheated like me

I have purchased one Microwave oven Model MAGICOOK 22C during August 2009. After completion of one year, suddenly the machine stopped working.

I have contacted customer care on 29th November 2010 and made a complaint vide No.18893 and assured me that the problem will be rectified in 24 hrs. Thanks to say that Technician reported my house very next day and seen the oven and told me that I will bring the suitable tool (screw driver) tomorrow.

Next day he brought the screw driver which was not suitable and again third day he brought the correct tools and opened the machine.

He conveyed that “PCB” is to be replaced and I have to pay “Inspection Fee” for his visit. I have paid the fee (Rs.395/-) and was waiting for the spares.

Till 10th of December 2010 there was no response. Again I have contacted Customer care on 10th December and they assured me that it will be rectified in two days.

13th December 2010 once again contacted your Manager Mr. Anand (Mobile No.9246822132) who convinced me since the spares are not available it is getting delayed.

Yesterday i.e. 17th I got a call from Technician that spare is ready and I had to pay Rs.2300/- for the same.

Whirlpool-Losing faith
Mar 04, 2008 09:39 AM9918 Views

I had visited Whirlpool stall at Vanitha-Ice exhibition on 30-01-2008 at Kochi and booked  a Microwave Oven Model No.22c vide receipt No.50282 (M/s Bismi Appliances), with the delivery date 29-02-2008.  However, till 7.30 p.m on 01st March, 2008 I have not heard anything from the Company regarding its delivery.  When contacted  M/s Bismi Appliances, Kaloor, Ernakulam over phone they informed that 29th is the monthly closing day and, hence, no delivery will be effected.

They also told me that 22c is out of stock and the Company did not deliver it.  If that be so, I just cannot understand why did the representatives of  Whirpool who were present in the exhibition stall assure me that the product will be delivered at my residence on 29th February itself after accepting a booking amount of Rs.1000/- in advance of one month?!?!!!!!!Further, the Company people didn't even bothered to inform their inability to deliver the product for the reasons x or y, though they were furnished with my two contact numbers.  If this is the situation before delivery, what will be the after sales service I can expect from Whirlpool?

I am totally disappointed to have such an experience in connection with a Whirlpool product, especially when I was about to purchase a split-A/c.   In the circumstances, I regret to say I am loosing faith in Whirlpool brand and no longer wish to be a Whirlpool fan.  Instruct the concerned to return my money. It's different?!!
Oct 05, 2007 11:52 AM9572 Views

It's probably just a coincidence, but our washing machine, fridge, microwave all are from Whirlpool. Now Whirlpool washing machines are famous, the fridge I did not choose, but why did I opt for a Whirlpool microwave? Well the salesman influenced me.:]

He told me that it was good, gave me the impression that it was selling well, (and considering that I did not have any microwave experience before) had all the requisite features for not only everyday reheating, but also whipping up grand dishes(esp considering that I was at a loss in this area). Then he told me about the "Tupperware" free gifts(It's "Trust" brand actually; either he was unware or he was lying to lure) and recepie books. Besides, it had some of the  other features we were looking for- Enough space within(22 litres), the convection mode(heating with a fan), and grille. Also we had done some research on this, so someone recommended going for a turnable dial(instead of the finger touch control, which wouldn't last). Another recommendation was to go for microwaves where the timing could be adjusted +/- 30 secs.  And then again, the smart salesman pointed out this unique feature- the door that opened down instead of sideways.  It could handle upto 20kgs, he said, so one could keep the hot dish on this door for, say, stiring in between cooking. He also told me about the whirlpool patented hot tavawhich could be used for crisping and browning(making cookies or finger chips for eg).Lastly, we got an offer price of Rs.11000, whereas MRP was Rs.13500. My decision was made!

We have been using this microwave for the past 2 years, and it has now become indispensable! There have been instances when the machine behaved in weird ways(not heating for a very long time once, timing countdown changing from 30 secs to 4secs, start-stop buttons getting confused about thier roles:).etc. Excusable.) but it's still working(touch wood) and we use it everyday. I find the door VERY USEFUL, esp considering that there never seems to be enough counter space. So much so it's the best feature of this mw, I think.

Convection cooking has been a diaster tho, I never got my cakes right(and I gave up long back). not sure if I did it right. Think microwave mode baking takes less than 10 minutes, but never tried it.

Microwave cooking kind of dries out the food, esp steam cooking, so everyone may not like it. But it's convenient and cooks fast. I'm happy with the pizzas, chips and gajjar-ka-halwa I made with the hot tava.

Whirlpool service, atleast in Bangalore has not been great. You have to call them so many times to get the technician. That's the experience with the washing machine, actually.  Once we called our out-of-state hometown dealer(from where the mw was bought) as the Bangalore no: was unreachable. But  the mw  has  miraculously  cured itself  evry time.

Whirlpool No No.....
Jun 06, 2007 03:50 PM8645 Views

Big Mistake to save money.....I bought a Whirlpool Magic Microwave from an Exibition, in order to save couple of thousands I purhased it for around 7000, others were 10000 + for the features whirlpool was providing.I dont remember the model though..

It was sparingly used, that too only for heating purpose. Its stopped heating one fine day....The service people said we have to change all the contact switches .. this that.. just 1 year old... and the cost will be 3500 rs. Now its lying like a piece of junk.. dont know weather to repair or get a new one.. and when I asked for exchange offer for a new one they said 150 to 200 rs depending on the condition....

I thought of telling that person that 200 rs will be tooooooomuch for a 7000rs piece, u can give me 25rs....also they gave a slab 150 to 200 .....I cannot stop laughing about this.

So guys even though you pay little more, get the good brand, they always reflect good quality in long term in sales and service.

Thanks

Whirlpool – Where is the Magic???
Jul 24, 2006 11:26 AM12923 Views

I purchased Whirlpool MagiCook Microwave Oven MT 22C two years ago. I checked out the price of the oven on Mouthshut Shopping and it shows Rs. 16500 and the whirlpool website gives the price at Rs. 13500 but I had purchased it for Rs. 12000. Maybe the price changed in the past two years.

The oven has all the features combined into one. The features of the oven include Crisp, Grill, Forced Air, etc. You can bake, brown, heat, defrost and shallow fry in the oven. So the concept was really good since I could do a number of things in just one oven. When I purchased the oven, I also got microwave-proof dishes and a recipe book. The recipe book contained all western dishes and had no Indian dishes included in it but the micro-wave dishes contained Idli maker, Dhokla maker, Rice cooker and a Crisp plate similar to a Tava which can be used for making parathas, dosas, etc. I was also assured by the shop from where I purchased that a representative of the company will come to my home and demonstrate the various Indian Dishes I can cook in the oven.

Two months passed, but no one turned up to my house so I called up the whirlpool office to tell them to send someone. They replied to me that since two months have passed from the date of purchase, you have to now pay for the demonstration. This was shocking because it was the duty of the co. to send someone at my place. I knew this was wrong and I argued with them. Finally, they agreed and I got my demonstration. For the first two months, I did not know how to use the oven and I only used it for heating purpose.

The demonstration was really good and I learnt how to make cakes, patties, pizzas, chips, etc in the oven. But the lady who gave the demonstration did not know how to make idlis and dhoklas in the oven. It was okay since I didn’t intend to cook them in the oven anyways.

After the demonstration again I never used the oven for making anything except for heating. I never got the time to bake any cakes. Also it was much easy to make chips, patties and fry other stuff on the stove rather than in the oven because you need to turn the food again and again and on the gas it can be done in a jiffy. My cousin experimented with the oven and tried to make dosas and parathas in it but they didn’t cook properly and tasted yuck so it was better to cook all these on the stove itself.

Now the oven has stopped working and I am calling at their service center continuously for the past two weeks but no one has still come to repair the oven. Every time I call I get the same reply that the technician will come tomorrow but their tomorrow never comes.

I had been a fool that I purchased this oven thinking that I will bake, fry, steam and do all my cooking in it but used it only for heating purpose. It is always better to buy a regular oven for heating only.

Also the oven makes a lot of noise when in use. Making Indian Food in the oven is time-consuming and also it does not taste that well so it is better to cook it on a gas stove rather than in a Microwave oven.

So my conclusion about the product is that it is an average product with very Bad service. The whirlpool magic never existed for me.

Owen is good
May 11, 2006 07:37 PM8435 Views

Guys,

I don’t know much about Owen, but my friend in this field chose me this Owen, when I purchased this before 4 months I thought I am buying a costly one. Trust me when I first heard the rate I though I am paying more than what I should pay, then my friend explained me.

I think you use these steps to buy Ur Owen:

(Not necessary you buy this model or brand but for any brand)

go for bold words when purchasing

  1. Check if it is solo model, conventional or grilled.

All cheap models are supposed to be solo model. (i.e.) you cannot bake, fry etc, this might be little confusing (why it cannot do) for you since I was also little confused when my friend told it.

Best model is conventional since you can also cook rice in it. Fry chicken, etc,

Grilled model combo of both but not that useful for our homes since grill helps only for browning and lot more costly.

  1. Type of coating in the Owen:

stainless steel is the best.

Other models would be SS coated which will start pealing after 2 years.

  1. Type of magnetron: if it is replaceable or dose they support warranty for it.

I don’t know much on it since it is too technical.

These three factors will make you select the best one.
