Hi, Sorry to say that other than some reveiws, most about vishal megamart seemed to be stupid like the lady with her baby and servant, COME ON.  The nothing different that was done with her, people are just following the rules, and drinking the drinks at mall, well I think that is not allowed at any mall MADAM, so please donot expect anything special,  The people who work there are also human, you felt bad about some slight inconvenience that yuo felt but  your [problems where some thing that was created by you yourself,

Well for the gentleman ho went to purchase teh jeans yeas I really do agree that he had a bad experience, and his tale is something that is acceptable as he had some problem, but  Well  sir your time was really precious bt it was just 1hr 30 min, I have to arrive the airport three hrs before I board the plane should I be angry about that, as I do not do anything there,  when you come to a place like that please do keep some spare timemavailable with you, Coz  finally you are the who looses the  COOL deals that the maal offers,  BIG bazaar I also owsome but again you could have the same kind of tale about that place as well,  So what are you going to do, do no go any where as you did not get that  expected support .

Best buy or wallmart are on the rocks but you could get the worst omments on that but you think them to be great as you never had a bad expereince with them,

Life is small, spend to with spreading happiness,  A little is what you loose.

Vishal MegaMart - bad bad
Oct 11, 2007 03:06 PM 13771 Views

My experience at Vishal MegaMart at Sarita Vihar store is a horrifying  as the others.    I took my maid along with my baby, so naturally I had to carry my baby's water, nappies and a toy for him.  We had a small bag with us while entering the store, and was asked to get the bag checked outside, which was ok, I won't object to this if they have a rule.  However am so angry, the stupid fellow, put a blue ink stamp on every item we had in that bad, including my baby's water in a feeding bottle.  I was not at the gate at that time to stop the guard, and my poor maid did not object.

Later when I saw what they had done, I blew my top, I made sure to call the manager of vishal mega mart, who was of course apologetic, but this was absolutely not done.  Since I go there quite regularly, I went grocery shopping on a really hot day, so naturally I saw drinks, and I picked up a coke and opened the bottle right there inside the store, but before I could drink it, a sales girl stopped me and said it was not allowed without paying for.  I said I would pay for it when I finished my shopping the bottle full or empty would be in the trolly, but she did not hear me, but insisted I go and pay for it first.  Can you believe this non-sense, anyways after a lot of halla bullo, nothing but the rule applied to me, and I had to first pay before drinking, I was very very upset.

Wrong billing and not giving the free gifts entitled to in some products this too I have faced.  I hate going there, but inspite of all this I am a sucker for the store, because everything is under one roof, if only delhi had some more like a carrefore or a wallmart.

Avoid it by all means. Worse Shopping experience.

"Aisa koi nahi jo bechey humse accha, humse sasta!" is what Vishal's tag line is. Well, my experience says Vishal Mega Mart is a disaster in more ways than one. (not that most of you will disagree, I guess!)

I was never even curious about the Vishal Stores previously, I was happy with other places in Gurgaon. But now, being the nearest supermarket it became unavoidable eventually(since I moved to Delhi). It gave me (twice!!) the worse shopping experience of my life and is still without doubt the most dreadful supermarket I have ever shopped in.

I visited the Sarita Vihar store recently. Let me try to put my experience in points for you:

--Low quality products

--WORSE customer service

--Unreasonable rules

--Irratic and RUDE management

--NO (absolutely NO) administration

--Highly unorganized

For buying things from various sections (ladies, toys, books), you have to stand in loooooong and unorganized queues. (I had to stand in one for a Rs.17 item, for 20 min.IMAGIN!!). You also have to check your receipts on a regular basis because of overcharging (Yes, it happened to me!!) and try and find management when you have a complaint and they vanish into thin air. Having the trolley/basket system, you will like to take help of one of those, but let me warn you- you might get stuck in the narrow rows with those things!! There is no proper markings/directions in the store, so there are chances you will never find what you are looking for. The staff is outrightly rude, seems like they are paid to keep shopper off!! (smirk!!)

CRAZY is the word for the guys out there.

Finally, after standing in those consuming queues, when you reach the cashier, you will want to die to find that his credit/debit card machine NEVER (without an exception!) works. After completing this round of silly affairs, you are relieved to escape from the store, but hang on. The guy (RUDE guy) on the doors will take forever to check your bills (hey, did u keep all he various bills from all the various sections secure with you?). He will take out all your stuff from the polybags and investigate them ALL. By that time, I assure, you will be ready to drop it right there and run for help!!

gggrrr I hate VIshal Mega Mart!!

Vishal already manages 46 showrooms in 34 cities. It is said to open 10 more stores across the country and is eyeing Rs 275-crore sales turnover in the current fiscal, after having established its presence nationwide. The projected turnover for this fiscal is Rs 275 crore. (Really?) Leaves me zapped.

For those who find me highly negative and judgmental in this review, pleaseeeeeeeee walk in the gates of the store and you'll know.

I am surprized to find that this Indian Supermarket Chain that has surely forgotten the 1st policy of retailing - "consumer satisfaction". God help them!

I had visited their outlet in Bangalore and have the following points to share.

The variety is large but not necessiarly good, the staff is very poorly trained in customer care. I found that the discounted items are those offered by the manufacturers in other stores as well. I found the crowd typically North Indian dominated, with Hindi the only language being spoken. The billing counter should have been better planned. This kind of store must have a walk through counters rather then a deadend counter type. There is no proper discipline at the counter and no proper queue control. In general it takes a good 10 minutes to get a billing done. This is quite a long time to spend at the billing counter. The objective of this kind of store is not forthcoming, I don't think I will visit this place for shopping as it is not a differentiator nor a class in its segment. Perhaps the management should understand the customer better.

NOT ALWAYS VALUE FOR MONEY

hi,

this is abbas,

i live in jasola, the nearest vishal mega mart is on mathura road,on the mohan co-operative industrial estate. I am a frequent customer of vishal mega mart, though I have been to sahara mall in gurgaon also, but I found many products too costly as compared to vishal,so I prefer to shop in vishal,

the mall situated here is quite big building suitable to find almost every item.

i have been visiting and purchasing products for my household atleast once in a month,

but I got a little upset to find some products very cheap though they charged high prices

i bought copper glass for my 2 yr old son, but after one week, the glass got torn from the edges.

on the same day only,i bougt small pieces of bowls made of steel, but to my surprise, one of the bowls got rust on the surface,

last but not the least,

i bought a purse for my wife, when I checked it at home, the quality was degraged.

it shocked me as I used to praise to everyone for its products,

if it is repeated again, and if I have to buy these degraded qualities from a reputed mall like vishal, I am sorry to say that even footpathwala would give a better quality that vishal.

why do we go to such malls then if we get cheated like this

well I don't blame every product as I find some products suitable and have good qualities like furnitures , toys, and have comfortable prices,

but for the products which I got is very cheap

i will suggest that before buying any product from mall , we should look around our locality,as for comparativeness, and if we can find a better option, why should we waste our money in paying higher prices and still got no satisfaction

Hi,

Today I saw the Ad in the newspaper for Vishal mega mart in Hyderabad and went to the store. (Though it was almost 10 Km from my home and there are many more stores near to my place.)

But I am sorry to say... the whole shopping experience was pathetic.

i brought one female jeans only after given the assurance by the floor assistant that it can be altered in an hour. I though ok. It was fine. By that time I could complete my shopping. But then...

There was no management at payment counter. There was no queue and it was looking like a fish market. People were shouting and pushing. I asked the counter person if they accept the credit card and he said yes. Then I stayed there and patiently waited for my number to come. But people were pushing each other and I suggested the counter person to form a queue. He smiled at me and continued his work. The way he was handling the customers was totally inexperienced. Well after 3-4 persons who came after me and got their billing first I lost my patient and asked weather they are going to bill me or not. After that they took the jeans and whole 10 minutes they were struggling with the bar code and the scanner. By this time 30 minutes of my precious Sunday holiday was over for nothing.

Finally he told me that for credit card payment, I had to go to the ground floor. (He could tell me this before when I asked so I wouldn't waste my time in the that fish market for billing???) Now I lost my cool over the whole fish market way of shopping. I was expecting some profession way of shopping that I am used to see in all the malls. I went to see some responsible person. I met one person (Later on I found his name is pavan). He said he is managing everything. When I complained about the billing and queue his answer was that the mall is just opened that's why this all is happening. (Hey! I though Vishal Mega Mart says it's having stored in 27 cities, still don't know that they need to provide some kind of queue at payment counter. Good management and good answer.)

But well he tried to help me out by ask every counter person to request people to come in queue and counter person at dress material floor was ready to accept the credit card. Now the problem was ... the jeans was having the bar code of kids ware. (Again he could tell me before while refusing to accept the credit card). Again I had to find the Pavan. (Manager??) Well after that they changed the bar code label and put the jeans back in the rack and asked me to pick it out again. (As I was playing some game of hide and seek of jeans. again I had to find out the correct jeans with correct label of bar code) "That's the best I can do for you"... Wordings were of the manager.

Well after all this a good one-hour was waste and Sunday was spoiled. I made the payment went for the alteration and person who was sitting at the tailor counter said he is not a ladies tailor and the lady tailor is on leave on Sunday will come on Monday so come on Monday.

. Now I wanted to lodge complain to record how unsatisfied I was with this shopping experience. Again I had to cover from 3rd floor to ground floor for the manager. (Good exercise for me, a new Ad. shopping at Vishal and reduce weight in 2 weeks. just 2 hours of shopping and the best part of it that u don't need to buy anything...just shop and loose weight.)

Then I got to know the lady tailor was not appointed yet. Read above again. I already wrote that after confirming that length can be altered in an hour I brought the jeans. That was too much for me. I seek for Pavan and asked him complain and suggestion book, and answer was ... no complain and suggestion book. (Again it's newly opened that why all this happening... my question is ... if you were not prepared then why opened. why giving training to armatures employees on the cost of customers time, when Sunday is the only day left the whole week to do something.)

A good part of my Sunday was wasted. 1 hour 30 minutes were wasted for nothing and I was not ready to waste any more time. Big Bazaar is half of the size and doubly crowed but they work like professionals. Never felt so much of annoyed and cheated in a shopping store. The best of the whole saga was that pavan refunded my money quickly. I think he also get annoyed with a demanding customer. (After all when you are giving discount of 25% then what else a customer should expect Seems like that 25% discount was kind of bribe to ignore the poor management)

I had a long list of shopping but now I could not spend an hour to buy a pack of biscuit or 30 minutes for a pack of noodles so I headed straight away to the good old big bazaar. Thanks god u opened the Vishal Mega mart near big bazaar. That's a big relief.

JC Penny to Vishal Mega Mart

Needless to say that India today is trying to ape American business ideologies and this Mall business is no exception. Though, Malls in India are still struggling to woo the customers and spending a lot on Advertising and Marketing. But, in my personal opinion, sir you all are wasting your monies if you can not compliment it with equally good customer service.

Before I state my grievance, I must tell you the general scene at your Mall at Mathura Road. A customer walks in and gets in you furniture floors, he will see a couple of guys from Vishal sitting on the chairs, chatting idly. Even they see a customer walking in and trying to find the things, they won’t even budge from their chairs and say a courteous “HOW CAN I HELP YOU SIR” (I think with my experience all over the world, I have seen them at least greeting you or been eager to help you BUY something) then you HUNT and see what u want to buy and walk up to those sales personnel asking “well can someone help me with this thing I want to buy. More often than not you will hear, the guy who looks after the department will be coming shortly. Then you wait. I think any business planner of a service industry will not agree to this kind of a business plan.

Now, let me share my today’s experience. I walk into VISHAL to buy some bed covers, kitchen items and a high back chair for my study. I go to second floor I find some chairs there and I ask the guy, “Does VISHAL carry high back chairs? The person replied “sir, we do, you will find them on the top floor.” I said O.K.

Before I narrate the incident, verbatim, I must tell you that I do not have any malafide intentions or grudges against any person. My complain is against the in competency of VISHAL and I wanted it to bring it to your kind notice, so, I do not have any reasons to lie or falsify the statements. I won’t be mentioning any names for the same purpose.

I reach the top floor and I see this salesman and his colleague from my previous visitations. I ask him to show me the high back chairs. Without any greetings he says, “Haan mein pahchanta hoon apko, aap aye to kai baar, par aajtak kuch kharida nahi”.

I : “ bhaiya main spring wale gadde ke liye kai baar aya, apke pass they nahin, par jab finally pata laga ki Saturday Sunday tak ayenge to maine pichley Sunday khareed liye.

Salesman : “ aji kahan khareede apne.” ( I am supposed to prove it to him???)

I : “ bhaiya neeche chalo, vahin apke superviser kitable ke pass pade they, unhin se liye, kaho to puchva doon.”

Salesman : “ Are!! Wo to lag hai, ussey lene ka matlab hamse lena thori hua.”

I: “ kyon, wo Vishal ka hissa nahin hai kya”.

Salesperson : “ Nahin wo alag hai, humse koi matlab nahin hai.”

I sat down on one chair and asked him the price for the same, he sat down to see the bar code and said Rs11,390/-

I told my friend who was with me that it’s a bit out of budget lets check the other one.

I sat down on the next chair, which was shoulder high. I was discussing the quality of leather and bent down to check the price and the price turned out be same as the high back one. I turned around to my friend and said, if I have to spend the same amount I should buy the first one, I might have to wait, but if I get Reliance IPO I will immediately buy it…………………… THAT’S IT, the guy said “ YOU CAN NOT SIT THERE IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BUY IT”.

I said,” look I am deciding, so that I do not have to waste time once I am decided and if I am going to spend RS 11,000/- to buy one chair, do I have not right to check the comfort level by sitting on it for 4-5 minutes, to see if its really comfortable.

Salesman : “ AAP UTHATE HAIN YA MAIN MANAGER KO BULAON”

That blew my lid. I told him I am sitting here you go and get the manager. I did not see him but someone from the security came up, I told him I am not trying to create a problem, I am waiting for the guy.

The security guy said, Sir, I know you are educated and do not want to create trouble. I got up and he told me he will meet me at the lower floor. I asked the security guy and the supervisor who sold me the mattresses to give me atleast someone who will listen to my problem or give me VP Marketing’s e mail ID, to attend to the problem. They said you will get it at the reception. At the reception, there are no customer service- contact numbers given. That clearly means that VISHAL MEGA MART has no intentions to keep a quality control. They finally gave me a card and told me, they are not aware of any VP, but you contact the corporate office. I asked them, who should I see in corporate office, they told me if you want, you can get in touch with Mr. R.C. Aggarwal, he’s the M.D. ( I hope that’s some help)

My only plea is, PLEASE TRAIN YOUR SALESMEN TO BE COURTEOUS AND DO NOT TAKE PERSONAL SALES AS THE ONLY SALES BY VISHAL. CREATE SOME TEAM SPIRIT.

Last but not the least, I know it doesn’t makes a difference to VISHAL MEGA MART to loose a small customer, but I am sure with competition around and attitude at VISHAL, IT WILL IN THE LONG RUN.

A rather mosterous experience at the NH-8 outlet. Extremely discourteous and ill-educated staff, only help decent manager!!! They never have replacements available. Never have sizes in stock for fast selling items. Improper organising of stuff. Confused and mismanaged throughout. And the worst is when any of heir staff talks to you one feels so humiliated, it feels like a muscleman saying pay as if all to enter are thieves. I think that s a result of entering fresh into such a line, inexperience, less reliability and trust on customers. They should install cctvs if they are so scared of their stuff. People cannot steal if one has barcode readers in place but still... the chaos continues. People entering are mostly village type in talking and behaviour though they are dressed ok. had a very bad experience. have never been their ever after. Should you have no choice left in life or you are hand to mouth visit it!!

DEAR Sir

Each shopping Mall have almost same type of rules. In case your attentions were clear but imagine A mega mall where some time more than 2000 people moving around,No one can keep tab whether some one has paid for opened item or not.The best way is to simply make such rules for every one.

Also No one can judge the innosense from the fact that he has shopped for mere 4K.There might not be bad intention behind but some time one or other item might not have been billed then this is the security man's duty to keep a check on each person.

We keep on shouting for security lapces in India and if some one delivering his duty honestly that seems a waste of time.

I totally disagree what you have said>I have been to Vishal mega MArt LOts of time but have never felt cheated.

Thanks

Vishal Mega Mart--from bad to worse

I went to vishal mega mart yesterday at sarita vihar and it was a very unpleasant experience shopping. The parking area had big gaping manholes. I agree that its a public area but as its being used by vishal, they can take a lead in getting it fixed.

They have now introduced trolleys for shopping but there is not enough space to move them. I wanted to have a juice while shopping and to pay on my way out, when the guy on the counter rudely tells me that u cant open anything, till u get it billed. I argued that I will pay for it along with other stuff in the end and it does not make any sense to stand in line just for that. I even approached there customer care office and he like any sarkari officer ''hamare yahan ka yahi rule hai, aap bottle nahin khol sakte''.

On his face were arrogance, rudeness and utter disregard for customer. So finally I left the bottle there and came back fuming to continue shopping and leave. Then went to shop in the cosmetics/jewellery section, there the salesman, rudely tells me to get these items billed at the counter there only, ,,THIS WAS ANOTHER RULE. So for a 10 rs item I had to get in line and get it billed there. After finishing shopping totaling around 4k, when I was about to exit, the guy at the exit door, wasted 15 mins checking each item with bill....NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS...Finally he cud not locate the bill for the 10 rs hair bands that I had bought from ladies section. I had also forgotten where I had kept that bill...So he started searching thru bags again.

They r surely crazy people, a person who has done shopping worth 4k, Y wud he hide/steal something worth 10 Rs... Anyways I then looked in my pockets and found the bill. I used to like vishal earlier for decently priced clothes...but now they have expanded to daily needs items, furniture, cooking appliances etc. I wanted to buy some CFL (compact fluorescent lamps) but then found that they are selling it at MRP. One can buy CFL from anywhere in the market well under the MRP.. So my learning,. wud never go there again,,,unless I dont have any other option in mind..coz they don’t sell cheap and the staff is highly arrogant... Furniture collection was good there, but with the prices that I have seen there, I am sure I will get it much cheaper on jail road or pachkuian road...or maybe even my local market...coz I got the CFL much cheaper in my local malviya nagar market...
