Vellithira Songs Movie Reviews

Vellitherai audio: Unique launch today!
Dec 19, 2007 12:09 PM 3015 Views

Vellitherai is Prakash Raj's newest venture as producer. Under his banners Duet Movies and Duet Music, Vellitherai finds an apt and eclectic environment to become a critically-acclaimed and financially successful movie, just like Kanda Naal Mudhal and Mozhi. Produced by Moser Baer as the chief biggie in this equation, Vellitherai promises to be a great saga of the ups and downs of the movie industry. The other big name in this production is Mirchi Movies.

Today, December 18, 2007, sees the dawn of a new plane of technology in the movie industry. It is the day of release of the movie's audio, in a star-studded and very uniquely-styled event.

For the first time in Tamil cinema, a Karaoke CD will be released along with the audio, enabling music lovers to sing along to their favourite movie album, as Vellitherai is sure to be! This is indeed a unique concept, sure to find a more widespread acceptance than can ever be imagined, worldwide.

The audio launch itself is designed in a unqiue fashion, showcasing the tribute to the movie industry. Silver screens, star-studded audiences, glittering aura, all thanks to the reason we are here - movies. The "Vellitherai".

A True Musical Debut
Jul 21, 2004 12:27 PM 3781 Views

Dear Friends:

Whats given below is the summary review while I requested the product, which came up as a review. PLease ignore the text and the comments below as I am working on a detailed version of a review on this album. I am planning to take the time to do a detailed analysis on the album and hence might take a few days before it is posted.

Thanks for your co-operation,

Krishnakumar

The Vellithira album is a malayalam musical album released in 2003. Though I was in Kerala at that time, I was busy with many unrelated (but serious) issues with my paperwork, and hence did not buy a CD or hear to the songs closely. When I used to do windowshopping, I used to see the poster of this movie with the caption that the music director was a debutante.

Things drastically changed when I had a chance to watch the movie. The musical experience was mind-blowing, atleast for me. Not because the songs were hits, or because the tunes were peppy, but because the musical sense that I saw all through the different songs was un-mistakable. The re-recording of the different musical interludes were so intricately done that all my frustration (in lack of good instrumentation/orchestration in Malayalam songs) was wiped out. This is a great album. I am planning to describe the individual tracks and how they could be termed as different from others.

Cheers, KK
