Vasan helped my little sister see better
Aug 11, 2014 05:43 PM 36831 Views

After falling off her bike at the age of 6, my sister couldn't see properly and had to use highly powerful specs. For the past 6 years we had looking for alternative options to cure her, and in the beginning we were hesitant to come to Vasan. But when all options ran out, we went to Vasan.

But there she received the best treatment. The doctors were considerate and helped us get through this. Now my sister is 12, and has to wear a low power specs, which the doctors say she can get rid off in less than a year. Thank you for your great service Vasan.

Vasan Eye Care Jayanagar 4 Block Bangalore - Worst

Vasan Eye Care Jayanagar IV Block  Bangalore. I went to Vasan Eye to test my eye power, I was prescribed wrong power, which I realized after using the glasses.

I went to another hospital and did my testing where I come to know Vasan prescribed me wrong power.I had already spent around Rs.5000 for the lens which was wasted. I visited Vasan and explained them, they did not accept their mistake, they just tried to convince me.

I feel all the Optometrist are learners they don't  have experience, they just finish the test in 2 minutes . This is not verified by the  Senior doctors alsoI guess this group of hospital is making money with false advertisements. Beware, don't go this hospital and do not refer to your friend /relatives.

My husband never liked to wear his specs. So we went to Vasan Chennai branch, and they treated his eyes.

Now he doesn't wear specs. He was had a power of+5. He wouldn't be able to see anything close to him clearly without his big specs. Now he can see clearly. Vasan does provide good services.

Now it is my turn for an eye checkup, and I know where to go to.

I haven't been to other Vasan hospitals, but this was a good one. My mother had cataracts. She is 60. We took her to Vasan, where she was treated well by the doctors. The staff members were also very polite with her. Now she is perfectly fine, and now we take her for monthly checkup. Thanks for your support, Vasan.

For around 10 years I have been facing myopia, and all doctors used to treat me for the same. But about a month back I visited Vasan at Chennai, and they told me that what I had was something else(hypermetropia).

They treated me accordingly and now I am able to see clearly. Glad to see things in a better perspective now.

I have visited Magarpatta Pune brach.First time they told me give the blood test then we proceed for nest test, so I given it but they didn't show me the result of blood test. Then after they told that pay 7000 for next test and after test we will do a contract surgery so I paid 7000. Then after test they told that you have sugar problem so first clear it then we will do 4 more test each have RS.20000 then after we will do  a contract surgery.

"So if they have known sugar problem after blood test why should they take the next test of 7000 Rs. They only wants money they not looking problem of patient they have lack knowledge of there specialty. "

I request to all don't go to Vasan Eye care.

I went to the Vasan eye care ( cochin shipyard center) in Jan 2012. I wanted to do lasik . They corrected my right eye perfect but the left even today (june 2014) I am having power of 1.00 . I just feel terrible loss cause now I have to wear glasses just because the left eye was done incorrectly.  I also did a 2nd operation in Dubai but it was of no use .

Worst Hospital I ever Visited.

I visited vasan eye care, pitampura for regular eyes test. I waited for 2 hours and after that when I asked them, their staff said said my number is next. When my number came they send one else inside and this thing happen 2-3 times. Staff is arrogant and they don't listen there patients. Doctor was free that time and instead of seeing there patients, she was talking on the phone.I asked them to give my money back but they refused and gave me advise to wait for my number.I don't know about other locations of Vasan Eye care but Pitampura location is the worst.

They are looting and hostile employees
Feb 16, 2014 11:27 PM 17854 Views

Vasan eye care has two branches in Pune.I went to Amanora branch and inquire about laser operation they really wasted my time and money by doing in-realivent tests after all tests they said to go to Kothroud branch as the laser machine is only at kothroud branch they said that it would cost 25k for the treatment.

Next day I went to kothroud branch they asked to do all tests again and said the cost of Laser treatment would vary form 30k-45k depending upon the doctor. When asked specifically about how this costs vary they has no answer

Overall, their lack of co-ordination between the Amanora and Kothroud branch and only intention is to LOOT the patient.

Do Eye Really Care ?
Jan 23, 2014 05:09 PM 14722 Views

A grey facade standing arrogantly by the side of a well populated road bisected by the  monstrous columns of a winding overhead Metro. The signage reads Vasan Eye Care,  Changing Vision.  Granite steps leading up to huge glass doors opened into a squarish hallway where men and women sat patiently awaiting their turn. On the left was the reception where a pair of young girl and boy manned the counter, attended  phone calls and directed visitors to comply with the Registration Formalities. The waiting area, on either side, was flagged by cabins and counters with large signposts - Pharmacy, Optometry, Counselling etc.

The frequent ads on TV  were a terrific motivator. Just ten minutes drive from my residence too. I was curious to note how medical care could be lucratively packaged with personal attendance.

I hurriedly scanned the periphery to catch the semblance of care as I made my way to the Reception. Earlier during the day I had made a telephonic appointment. Of course, the consultation charges differed for walk-in patients(Rs. 150/-)  and patients with prior appointment(Rs. 250/-) "You need not wait in queue if you make an appointment, Ma'am", Informed an eager-to-influence-you voice over phone. That  was the biggest advantage. I fell for the trap.

Back at the reception, I was disappointed to note that the girl, with an air of authority, failed to ascertain my appointment. The boy looked equally uninformed. A printed pad was unceremoniously thrusted forward to fill in for preliminary registration. I was told it wouldn't take ten minutes to start the process. I wondered what process they were referring to. I just wanted my eyes, red and itchy, to be tested. That's all.

True to their words,  about a minute later, I was inside one of the cabins getting my eyes examined through those black and white machines which were common fixtures at an optician's. The only unease was the technician at the other end of the scanner. I had expected a qualified doctor!

Next.another cabin.another technician. This time it was power check-up. When were they going to tell me what was wrong with my eyes? The man pushed the glasses hard into my eyes. I winced. He apologized. I could make out he was a novice. After all I was getting my power checked since childhood!

And then interminable wait. The doctor was busy. Well, there was a doctor, was there?

I took stock of my surrounding. A cluster of saree-clad girls hovering around like one saw in the front-line offices of  hotels. A few with overalls on moving in and out of cabins looking generally busy. A doctor, who behaved more like an administrator, exchanged pleasantries with the girls  and then got busy checking bills and other un-doctorly works. Two men with stout bags, who positively looked like Medical Representatives, made headway for the Doctor's room.

One of the girls came over and asked me whether I was waiting for the doctor. Obvious, wasn't it? I reminded her that even with a prior appointment I had been sitting for forty minutes to be checked up. She explained that my entry into the hospital had coincided with lunch time. Did I expect the doctor to leave his lunch and examine me? Of course not. That was inhuman. But wasn't I told at the reception that there was a panel of doctors lying in wait to fulfill the Hippocrates' Oath. Where were they? Or did they all partake lunch at the same time? The girl quietly took off to consult with her senior.

The officious senior informed that the doctor was busy with people from the Marketing Department. Eh! Nowadays Med Reps were known to belong to the Marketing Department? Real cute!  I could have given her a showdown but by this time, I supposed the doctor had been filled in about an errant patient who refused to be quietened by running eyes and hampered vision.

I was called in forthwith. A middle-aged guy with a salt and pepper mop prompted me to another machine and after a few minutes pronounced me fit. "B.but what about this redness and.?" "Well that's due to prolonged hours before the computer. We'll give you a few drops  and check again. I think your power is also incorrect. You'll have to come again to get your power checked. Do you want to pay a second visit?" He was struggling hard to keep down his irritation.  "No. I'd like to see how best the medicine works before I take that decision." I was at my imperious best. He shrugged his shoulders coldly. I couldn't help notice how disgustedly he threw my card aside. So much so for care!

As I was escorted to the pharmacy, I realized he had not given me a prescription. Nor had he asked what I was ailing from in the first instance. Did I really care?  More importantly, did he really care? At the counter, I asked for the prescription,  courteously refused to buy the drops and walked out of the doorway angry and discontented. Did state-of-the-art technology mean getting rid of the rudiments of treatment? Did specialization  mean delegation of jobs to novices? And who said our erstwhile family physicians, a dying breed, without fashionable medical outfits, lacked in care and cure? I could furnish innumerable examples where our family physician, who was also a family friend, had diagnosed the exact nature of ailment without subjecting us to a horde of tests and successfully revived us to good health? They had held our hands, spent sleepless nights by our bedside through critical phases and thanked God profusely when the worst was over. Were they less efficient? Did they lack in knowledge and precision? No, their only cause of extinction is that they took their profession and their pledge to serve humanity too seriously.

Today when education and medical care have deteriorated to commercial ventures, even caring, which should go hand in hand with treatment, has become a commodity. By tagging Personal Care with Medical Treatment, an attempt is made to package the latter more attractively in a bid to escalate its saleability. While the two are complimentary to and supplementary for each other, it is  deliberate and downright mercenary to extricate one from the other and pretend to provide both together as something additional  and personalized to the ailing  for a higher consideration. Though regrettable yet we have to accept the hard fact that we are surviving in a culture of commodification, where a few are thriving at the expense of many. However, more pitiable and lamentable is the situation where business flourishes on fake promises and the customers are duped in broad daylight.

Vasan Eye Care has graduated into a reputed brand name. Its branches are mushrooming in every locality. On one hand, it is laudable that the brand owners are making specialized eye care available at every door step. On the other hand, it is as much essential to ensure that the expected services are not maligned by a handful of franchisees who are willfully misusing the brand name for easy gains. I wish we do have ready-at-hand professional services for all and sundry 24x7 but it should be worth what it professes to be and not a mere eyewash.

I took my Mother to VASAN Eye Care(Saidapet) for Cataract.

Their welcome was good and took some tests for more than two hours.

But after consulting with the devil doctor(S.Baskaran, M.S(Oph), D.o).

He said both the eyes Needs Cataract Surgery. so I asked for the reports, test which was done. immediately four or five representative started fighting with me.i replied that I have receipt for each and every thing, if your hospital refused to give the report

Then I will file a case in consumer court, after saying that they comprise me and asked me to come and collect the case summary on next day. But still I didn't get that.

After that, I took my mother to sankara nethralaya. After  complete testing, doctor said that as of now no need of surgery.

So guys, please don't go for vasan eye care.

Worst Doctors & unprofessional staff
Dec 22, 2013 10:19 PM 24001 Views

Dr. gave us wrong advise of wearing anything glasses or lenses?

Dr. didn’t say that she should not be wearing lenses the day she would come again for PMT?

Why no one else informed us the same if Dr. was not suppose to take that responsibility?

Why no one briefed us before we left the clinic?

Why Optimastric(who checks eyes manually) didn’t inform the same thing as according to everyone it was his responsibility ?

Why Optimastric left before the patients

Why we were not given instructions in writing

Why we didn’t get copy of the file which was getting made

Why no one is ready to take the responsibility

Why there is no professionalism in the lady who acts as the Center Head

Why the real Center Head Jatin is never available

Why the people who sits at reception are so casual

Why did Dr. Ashish left without meeting us and that also before time even after knowing that we were only facing problem and we were suppose to meet him again

Why no one made us speak with the Dr. on phone at least if he was gone

What about our time which got wasted?

Why there are always few people complaining about one or the other thing? Why there is not any process of anything?

Why there is no briefing of instructions is happening before the patient is leaving?

What about our precious time which got wasted because of the wrong advise given by the Dr. and because of the mistakes of clinic?

Now how can we trust the result given by Vasan Eye Care after seeing so many mistakes happening in front of us, after seeing such a casual behavior towards patients ailment and problems of Dr. and of everyone else

I request for answer of all of my questions above and requests for appropriate action at the earliest or else I will make sure that my review should reach to all the potential clients of Vasan Eye Care and if there would be any need of taking this to consumer court or making it reach to concerned associations and authorities then that will also be done by me.

WE HAVE ALREADY WASTED OUR 2 DAYS IN GETTING THE EYES TEST FROM VASAN EYE CARE AND WE STILL NEED TO WASTE ANOTHER DAY TO GET THE FINAL RESULT ON WHICH WE CAN NOT TRUST

Below I have mentioned the entire experience step by step: 1. My fiancée Sarosh Kinger called in Vasan Eye Care Greater Kailash Part 1 Delhi Center on 16th December 2013 and asked the charges of getting the eye tested they said over the phone that the charges are 150 Rs.

  1. We reached Greater Kailash Part 1 Delhi Center on 17th December in evening between 5 to 6 & we were told the charges are 500 which have increased today only, we asked how come it has got increased more than 3 times in a day but we didn’t get any reply. When we said we will report this to your head office and we asked to call the Center Head then the person sitting at reception said okay you pay 150 Rs. only but then Nandini who is I think assistant center head reached and spoke very casually and said no you have to pay 500 and we made the payment. She was more concerned about the calls on her mobile then understanding our point of view. We told her we would report this and she said do whatever you want. 3. Now when we were waiting we saw 3 clients complaining about different issues.

  2. Our process of check up started, in 2nd step we were taken to Optimastric(who checks eyes manually by putting glasses of various powers), later we were taken to Doctor Ashish, he suggested to get dilution done, we got that done and again we were taken to the same Doctor and later we were again taken to Optimastric but now the person was changed, it was not the same person and we were told to get the precise number you need to come again. Before leaving we went to Doctor Ashish again he also said come again and we asked very clearly that what Sarosh(the patient) should use glasses or contact lenses in the mean time before coming for the PMT and the Doctor replied very clearly that “she should wear whatever she is comfortable in”

  3. We didn’t get any number, we didn’t get the detail of the things happened. A file which was getting updated and made they didn’t give us and we got name of 1 eye drop mentioned on a paper, we went to the shop inside the clinic to buy the same drop but there was no one, we told one of the facilitator that we will be coming again and the person said fine and we went off. No one was available or bother to provide us any kind of instructions if required

  4. On 19th December 2013 Sarosh called and fixed the appointment, Madhuri picked and gave appointment for 20th December 5 PM for PMT. Please note she didn’t inform anything that Sarosh(the patient) should not wear contract lenses the day she is coming for PMT

  5. We reached the same center at around 4:30 PM and again at the reception no one was ready to pay any attention, I asked to start the process but the lady was only busy in other work and please note it was only us at the reception, they were free and not busy, there were 2 employees sitting at the reception.

  6. After 10 minutes a facilitator came and asked us to visit the Optimastric, I requested him to give Sarosh(the patient) 2 minutes to remove the contact lenses and he said very clearly if she is wearing contact lenses then we can not do the test, another facilitator or Dr. whose name is Ram also heard the same thing and reached there and said I have also heard and the test can not happen today, at this point of time I got worried and I asked them why no one informed us last time that she should not be wearing contact lenses the day she would come for PMT and why did Dr. Ashish told us that she can use glasses or contact lenses in whatever she would feel comfortable. They had no answer but they understood that we had got upset by this, now they suggested us to meet the Dr. I requested not to talk to Dr. in my absence but Dr. Ashish didn’t let me remain in the cabin, he locked the cabin from inside and first took all the download from Ram and understood that we are upset, now when he opened the cabin and let me come in, the Doctor was ready with one of the most careless and unprofessional story, instead of accepting his mistake he said: “yours is a normal eye test and it hardly matters that she was wearing lenses but we can do the test and the results will be precise” I replied him “the other 2 assistant of yours have said very clearly that the test can not happen today and now because you have understood that we are upset you are making this story we can not believe you and we will be coming again, do the test right now also but again our time will get wasted but we will come”. I asked him when this was the case then “why you said that she can wear anything”, Dr. Said it is not my work to tell all this it was the work of Optimastric, we said who would have told us that we were suppose to ask this from Optimastric, if you are the Dr. and we are asking you then you should give the right reply. Another thing there was no one else available, the Optimastric was gone by then, I am not able to understand if the process was not complete then why did the optimastric left and why no one bothered to provide us proper advise?

  7. After this we went in the cabin of Optimastric, by now he had also got aware of our being upset, he had another story ready, he told us if it has been 20 minutes without lenses then it is fine and the tests results will also be fine, we told him no it has been only 10 minutes and he said “10 minutes are also fine”, we were able to understand that everyone was just trying to finish the work and were not bother about the right process. They were only trying to please us. He started the process and did his testing work very nicely. After finishing his process he said now you go and meet the Dr. again.

  8. Now it was 5:45 PM and we got to know that Dr. Ashish is left for the day. See how concerned the Dr. was he knew that we needed to visit him and we had appointment also and he didn’t bother to remain in till 6 PM even. When I again complained and said it is very unprofessional the person went up to look for the Dr. as they were lying earlier but we again got informed that the Dr. has left.

  9. Now we asked for the result and they took 20 minutes in bringing us the result of test which they were not bother to provide otherwise, now when we got the number it was only for glasses, we asked for the number for lenses and the person went inside the optician shop inside the clinic and asked them what should be the number for lenses according to the number of glasses and that person wrote the same on the back of the same slip and after that without giving us that slip the person went missing for more then 20 minutes, we again called the Center Head and as usual the Center Head “JATIN” was not available and Nandini spoke with us again she was more concerned about other things and first she tried not to face us also. Now Nandini instead of accepting the mistake of the clinic of not informing us of not wearing the lenses she blamed us that we should have asked at the time of taking appointment for PMT about wearing lenses or glasses.

This is the kind of service is provided in your reputed clinic

Don't go to VASAN EYE CARE
Dec 12, 2013 01:31 PM 24452 Views

Hi Friends,

I took my father to VASAN Eye Care (Saidapet) for diabetic retinopathy. Their welcome was good. But after consulting with the doctor (P. J. Ramana Kumar, M.S (Oph), D.N.B). He said for both the eyes laser treatment needs to be started and if it doesn't work, surgery needs to be done.

His assistant will give a appointment date, which doctor will not come. Again we need to follow up Vasan eye care for the appointment. And finally we got appointment and we went on that day.

We contacted the "May I Help You" and given the file number and my fathers name. She searched my fathers name, but it was not available. I told to her that I got appointment. She told to wait and some how that day first laser treatment had started. But Dr.P.J.Ramana Kumar had not done the laser but his assistant had done that and the doctor P.J.Ramana Kumar had left for the day. After completing this, his assistant told me that you need come after 10 days for the same setting.

I asked for the date and they informed me to come on 16th Dec 2013. When I called for the appointment for Dr.P.J.Ramana Kumar on 12/12/2013. Assistant said there is no appointment and it is full and your father doesn't have the appointment for that day. They had informed me to call on 17th and get the appointment on 18th. I don't know whether I will get the appointment.

The service is very bad. No one is responsible to take the appointment for that day. And also, if a doctor has taken his responsibility to treat a patient he needs to be available for any kind of treatment.

I am totally tripped in VASAN Eye Care now, since I don't know, when my fathers eyes will be treated and cured.

Please don't go to VASAN EYE CARE.

Thanks.

They make you spend too much for frames and lenses
Nov 30, 2013 08:17 PM 22521 Views

Do visit specialist doctors for severe cases and visit general eye doctors for power check ups. These people try to convince you to buy glass lenses of 3500 which you can get way cheaper outside. If you ask for the measurements, they won't provide you.

What happens inside vasan eye care, stays inside vasan eye care. Did not like the secret money making machinery. You have any problem, most likely they will suggest you to change your older lenses.

Failed Timely Delivery of Optical

Order was placed on 3/9/13 and promised a delivery of 3/7/13, My flight was on 9/11/13. Called on 3/7 and again promised a delivery on 9/10. Called again on 9/10 when there was no delivery. Again promised a delivery of 9/11/13 and the optical was not received on 9/11.

The customer service at Vasan eye care  is the worst that I have encountered. Optical ordered outside of Vasan eye care was delivered within 3 days. When I called on 3/7/13 to refund the money, they refused and I am a victim of false promise and lies.

Cataract Surgery
Jul 25, 2013 03:24 PM 24984 Views

Did cataract surgery (IOL) for my mother in Vasan eye care Thiruvalla on June 22, 2013. Before doing the surgery, I gave the list of documents required for insurance claim and they promised that they will provide everything as per the requirement.

It is clearly mentioned in the list of required documents that the original Tax invoice of the Lense is essential. The hospital is reluctant to give the tax invoice and I am approaching them for last one month for getting the same.

I opted for an expensive lense and strongly doubt, they might have put a cheaper lense and that may be the reason why the hospital is reluctant to give the tax invoice.

Advice to patients approaching Vasan Thiruvalla for IOL surgery: Make sure that the hospital is using the same lense you are opting. Don't be cheated!

I took my father for cataract operation to Vasan eye care Jayanagar. Very good staff and doctors. They took a lot of care. He got his left eye operated first and then his right eye after a month. The counselor did an excellent job by giving the chart for him to apply drops and she guided him on this very well.
