Life at crossroard - A phrase that depicts the dilemmna of students as they come out of their school. Neverthless I can cite a few examples , the plight of students aspiring to become enthralling engineers, is no more better than that in any other state .
Orissa - a state with fewer opportunities and consequently lack lusture performance in every aspect of competition ,doesn't provide the launchpad for its student community. Result- students lacking the fire to post a surprise at any national showdown, take it in sports, education, or entrance competition. Now where does UCE burla ,stand in all the above discussion. Infact I would rather say the entire sickness of 1st paragraph is reflected in my college.
A college as old as 50 years struglling to get recognisation at the National level.Theere was a time, if I am not lying, when the entire north-east belt of our country only had 2 Engineering institutes -IIT KHARAGPUR and the second one can u guess-IT WAS NONE other than U C E BURLA.
The struggle for its existence ,infact tantamount to the Darwinian survival of fittest policy. But here I'd violate the theory proposed by charles darwin. During the period of its struggle to preserve its identity -it has already lost a major portion of its outer lusture.
The infrastructure- the main building having a pre-historic looks, no different is the way the gardens and playgrounds appear . If I'm not exaggerating ,the COLOUR LESS BUILDING STILL STANDS TALL EVEN AFTER 50 years ,fighting the financial crisis, lack of help from the concerned govts, and with a ROSY DREAM of its being given the status of IIT BURLA.
CAN THE DREAM BE EVER GIVEN THE TOUCH OF REALITY.
CENTER HAS THE UPPER HAND....;
