Today my genuine claim is rejected by the universal sompo car insurance surveyor named Monish in Dehradun. He gave me baseless reason and aligation of forgery. Thank god my insurance was over on 11.12.2024. In future I will never take the insurance from this worst company and will not recommend to any of my friends and relatives... Be aware guys they are one of the fraud company.

I as a nodal officer of an cooperative Bank writing this review. Our department done an MOU for accidental group insurance with this company for F.Y. 2022-23. Our bank paid 2.75 crore premium to company. At premium taking time company's response was very good. I have sent 50 claims to company
Out of which only 17 claims paid 16 claims rejected with nonsense reasons and 17 claims are still pending even after one year of submission. After many meetings and calls no one is responsible for delay of claim settlement. On papers claim settlement ratio is 96 percent but in reality it is less than 50 percent. So I personally advise that do not waste your time with this company if you thinking about insurance.
I have the same insurance, i recently had problem with car battery I call up Universal sompo customer care they repeatedly gave me different nos for Road side assistance half day i struggle but no one call back only they took my policy copy they assured but later they dint lift my call , such hope less customer service I shall never go with this insurance company after my existing policy get over , I have even sent mail to their official id complaning abt the whole situation but till now no response imagine if I have met major accident ?? not suggested

I have car insurance with Universal sampo general insurance which I bought from maruti insurance broker. Recently I claimed a genuine compensation due to accident of my car but felt frustrated and insulted when refused by universal sampo surveyor with false excuses and false allegations on me without any real fact. I advise never to take insurance by universal sampo.

In Universal Sompo. Claim selling is totally based on Surveyors Grace. He don't understand the meaning of Bumper to Bumper and Zero loss policy. and trying hard to pay the charges from the client even though they charged premium for zero debt. this is the friars claim since 7 years and they argue that claims are not taken to enjoy the NCB.and so we will not pay the full claim amount.
I will strongly not suggesting the Universal Sompo even if their premium charges are little lower than HDFC and ICICI
MY CAR WAS SCATCHED BY SOME UNKNOWN, FOR WHICH I WENT FOR A CLAIM . they took around 20 days to provide approval that too non cashless although the insured through honda assured . All this is the process planned to loot the hard earned monies of people . really suggest everyone to never go for universal sampoo . pathetic service provider . Always go for ICICI OR HDFC ERGO . Still you wanna waste money then universal sompo can be the best availble option to waste hard earned money .
I have first hand experience with this insurance. It’s a complete worst company and don’t know why IRDA is not banning this company even after several complaints. May be it’s a suite case company of a MP or MLA.
Very Worst services ever seen, would suggest not to buy any insurance from this company for any service. Am writing mail to IRDA that they should banned this company for providing insurance services.
For my cases, my motor vehicle claim was not cleared even after 3 months already passed for settlement and still waiting for settlement. I have already provided all documents, although they are taking time. There claim service team is not even replying on mails or not picking up the calls. Very pathetic services they have. There forensic team is reaching for spot verification after 2 and half months after to investigate the issue.
Worst insurance company in the globe.fraud company.they don't settle claims they simple drag drag .they try to escape .fraud and cheat company.Really don/t know how IRDA keeping quite.Never ever buy policy from this company.

My Car met with an accident, after survey they said claim will be sanctioned, after 2 Months when I went to collect the car, I was told claim is rejected as one of my document was not clear, I agree if it was not clear I was supposed to be penalized before the repair & not after the repair cost reached 75k approx, for 6 months my car was in the service center later I had to sell it off, it was commercial vehicle, Advice - do not buy this company's Policy, they won't pay back.

This insurance company is totally helpful for the customers.
They provide time to time policies and programme for their customers.
All the range of plans are extremely good and easily understandable.
Staff's attitude of this company is very impressive. I am very happy with this insurance company.
Its claim settlements are very nice and they are always updated for future risk.

My Dad had applied for a car insuranse at universal sompo car insurance company with the best premium they offered for it was a good offer from the company so dad opted for them but even after paying them the premium completely the document papers were not reached to us after 2 months also it was really a trouble for dad as its a must have document as per government rules when we asked the executives they just say us that they have posted the documents and yet to reach our address it was really a trouble making never opt for them ever
I have renewed my car insurance on 18 jan 2016 from TATA AIG by paying cheque from Axis Bank and cheque is cleared.
TATA AIG issued the policy and later cancelled it by linking other bank(syndicate Bank) cheque to my policy which is bounced When I logged into TATA AIG portal last week for policy renewal, I couldn't find it.
Then I raised a complaint with tata-aig .
As per TATA AIG investigation, they came to know that cheque is cleared but by that time my policy got expired(18 Jan 2017).
They were telling my policy is active after policy got expired. Because of their mistake my policy expired.
So they did car inspection and telling that they can't provide a new policy.
They didn't returned money or renewed new car insurance policy. Its very bad experience.
I am from Chennai and I have a universal Sompo car insurance as part of Honda assurance. Things looks green with Honda assurance(where you pay a premium price for car insurance compare to what is available in Market) when they ask you to enroll in their insurance, The real problem starts when you start your claim processing. Due to this cyclone in Chennai where the trees were cut all over the roads. I ran into cut tree branch that was fallen on the road. It Car got stuck and I reversed where a scooter guy try to get into the narrow path left between my car and the road creating scratches on my Car side door. I filled my Claim and gave that to the person who came to pick my car for repair. I noticed that the twigs of the branches on the road also damaged my engine guard(a plastic cover to cover the engine from bottom of the car) I told Honda person to include that in my claim. 4 days when I got a call that car was ready for pick up and I asked them what was done(they engineer said the scratches on the doors are repaired. and he said the engine guard was not included(since the person who took care of my car left and some one took over from him) I resubmitted my claim based on the advice from the Honda and insurance person and the insurance rejected my claim stating we cannot provide multiple damage. I asked them to show in policy. Then they said I need FIR copy and explained it is because of the tree branches on the road due to cyclone. I am not sure what kind of insurance process people I am dealing with. If FIR copy is needed they should have said in the first place, which they did not. they were trying to minimize the claim. When I bought the insurance they said you do have to fill the claim form that is it and every thing will be taken care. Believe me they showed me nightmare, the amount of stress I went thru was immanence. I was out station and I have to be on call with Claim survey officer, Claim officer, sales head zonal head. I have to claim the entire sales and claim agents hierarchy to make my claim approved and that too after pressure from Honda assurance Insurance sales person.
So guys first of all do not go for Honda assurance with Universal Sompo. You pay premium price and you get cheep insurance service. I went to Honda Assurance for the hassle free, now I came to know with hard experience it is actually free hassle. which made me to spend my time to write this review.
