My daughter and I flew to San Antonio from Knoxville for my grandson's graduation from Navy A school at Joint Base Fort Sam Houston. The day we were scheduled to leave San Antonio to fly back to Knoxville via Houston, there was a weather event in Houston, which initially delayed our flight. Unasked, we were put on another flight into Houston. After sitting on the tarmac on that flight for around 2 hours, the pilot stated that the plane was overweight due to fuel, passengers, and baggage, and that they needed volunteers to deplane. The pilot also stated that he had never experienced such a situation in his 25 years of flying. Eventually, enough passengers volunteered to deplane and the flight departed for Houston. Once in Houston, we were informed that our flight to Knoxville had been canceled and rescheduled for the next day. By then, it was around 10 PM. I contacted United customer service via phone while my daughter stood in line at the customer service desk, which eventually closed before she reached the front of the line(there were 85-100 people in line.) The customer service rep I spoke with was hateful and rude, and informed me that, because our flight was canceled "due to weather", we could request cots to sleep in the airport or we could get our own hotel. We got an Uber to a hotel and spent the night, and arrived back at the airport the next day. The new flight went from Houston to Dulles. At Dulles, we boarded a very small Embraer via stairs from the tarmac. It was raining and the metal stairs were very slippery. To top it off, when I got to the top of the stairs, the flight attendant told me, very rudely, to go back down the stairs and gate check my backpack, which was the size of a purse. I was wearing two leg braces and barely made it up the steps to begin with because of severe osteoarthritis. The gate agent could have asked me to gate check the backpack. Someone on the ground could have asked me to gate check the backpack. No one did. Just the rude flight attendant. Luckily, my daughter was a few people behind me and could take the backpack back down the stairs. Again, in the rain.


After all this, United sent us each a$150 travel voucher. That is the last thing we want. We do not plan to EVER fly United again, under any circumstances.

Both flights of my trip were cancelled and messed up. My Friday flight was cancelled, and I was not booked on the next flight they booked me for the 5:33 pm flight and not the earlier ones. I waited standby for 2 flights since I was already at the airport at 8:30 am, the third one I was going to wait standby got cancelled but finally made it on the 5:33 pm flight. I was 7 hrs late getting to Newark airport and I missed half of my Friday event. I also missed a full day of work on Monday because they cancelled my Sunday flight. The United Airlines customer service person at the Newark airport couldn’t give me a voucher for the Sunday night hotel that I was now going to have to get since my return flight had also been cancelled while I was flying to Jersey. They also hadn’t booked me for the next available flight but one that was 24 hours later than my original one, then while I was waiting in line about the voucher that rebooked flight was cancelled and they tried to rebook me for Tuesday morning flight (I would have had to stay 2 nights & miss 2 days of work). I was able to get them to book me on one of the earlier flights on Monday when I got to the counter however they could not give me a voucher for hotel. They gave me a number to call to get a voucher. I called and they said they couldn’t give me any voucher over the phone, and I would have to book a hotel and pay for it myself and then would need to try to get reimbursed after my trip. I have tried to get a refund on my flight and to get reimbursed for the hotel, but they denied it. I put in for the refund and filled out 3 Customer care feedback forms to try to get reimbursed but nothing. I even tried to contact the CEO by email and got no response either. I want my refund for the flight and reimbursed for the hotel. Again, I was 7 hrs late getting there and missed half of my event, had to pay for hotel and missed a day of work. They denied my hotel reimbursement and I have requested multiple times a copy of the phone conversation where the agent lied to me saying I would be reimbursed. Oh course they are refusing my request for the proof that they lied. No surprise there. I am going to have to file a lawsuit against them to get that phone conversation and prove they lied and get my money back for hotel and pain and suffering for all this time I am wasting dealing with them. I suggest never fly with United Airlines they are greedy crooks who lie to you over and over again. And they discriminate too. I am currently looking for a attorney so I can file a lawsuit against them. I wonder if they have done this to tons of people and maybe there is a class action suit waiting to happen.

SFO staff is untrained about how does evisa works. I applied for evisa for myself and my children on same day with same ETA issue and expiration dates. I was let through few days before my family was traveling and they were refused boarding. Same airlines, same visa. Did I mention they are nice.not.

I have travelled united, I had a chase explorer card linked with it. Since I spent 3000$ I got 60k points which I used in booking 3 tickets from New jersey to Los angeles. Its is worth the price. I also got 2 air lounges pass free. The lounges are well maintained with good food and drinks.

If you are flying economy, I would say if comparable options available you must not take this flight. In hurry I booked double the normal price since when I booked it was only direct flight option available on my business trip, but I regret this decision as it was complimented by delays, damaged baggage supported by pathetic customer service both on board and off board. on board they have very limited seat selection option, beverages all are charged, pathetic food, seats are congested(go with airindia for better leg space for all economy). I flew with airlines like Air india, emirates, Lufthansa Qatar Ethaid etc. for 10 years, just once I tried united and i'm done with this. UA83, 4th march.

They will SCAM you, lie to you, will promise you promises that they will not keep and then never respond to your calls and emails or take responsibility for their mistakes.


They are the most unethical AIRLINE out there! And I am not the only one saying this.read up about them online! See how many people are saying similar things to what I am saying.


Back in JUNE, their customer service representative has promised me that if I cancel my flight I will receive a certain amount of money back in Cred824IT for future flights with United. I was very hesitant and wasn't sure I wanted to do so, but their customer service representative was so persistent and stubborn about it, that she convinced me and I agreed.


The customer service representative told me that I will see my Cred824it in my online-account to use for future flights. The next day, when I checked in to see, I realized the Cred824it that was PROMISED to me was simply not there! Thinking that it was a "technical glitch", I called them back to get this fixed, yet no one was willing to help. For weeks and months afterwards, after endless calls to customer service and endless emails, contacting mAnasultangers, etc.no was willing to do anything to help! I was shocked! Such a big AIRLINE not willing to take responsibility for:




  1. What they have promised me.




  2. Their mistake. Or was it a way to SCAM me out?






You just feel hopeless, used and SCAMMED! With NO ONE to talk to! It’s unfathomable! But I am going to go all the way with this thing, will not stop until they realize what they did. I will not give up, I have my lawyers all over this thing and I am going to turn this into a MAJOR SOCIAL NETWORK AND MEDIA FRENZY! I will reach CNN news if I have to let the world know how I was treated by UNITED AIRLINES. They will never respond to you and will never allow you to even explain your needs to them. They have the worst costumer service. I am already in talks with the "Better Business Bureau" about this matter! I am taking this VERY VERY VERY VERY seriously!


One CAN NOT EVEN REACH the customer service department as they PURPOSELY DO NOT have a phone number, you can only send them an e-mail, which they will not respond to. As you can see - this is all very well thought out by them! They have way too much power over the costumer and allow themselves to do as they please. United Airlines are lairs and thieves, they will lie and scam you if they can and then later, they will not take responsibility for their lies and mistakes. Please spend your money ELSEWHERE, Go to a different airline, one that gives good customer service, apologizes for their misleading, misinformation and mistakes and will GIVE YOU exactly what their customer service representative has promised you.


Please pass this MESSAGE on to whoever you think this could help. Thank you dearly to whoever read this. Pass this on to others. I just hope I was able to “save” and help other people. God bless!

This has to be the worst experience of my life that I will never book a United airline again. My international flight was delayed and then canceled due to weather. When I asked to speak to supervisor, an airport police was called on me. That was the most humiliating experience of my life. The staff do not have good customer service skills and this has been documented over and over again as seen on TV across the nation. United airline is a never again for me.

I recently got a chancr to travel in United States of America and I opt united airlines for domestic travel since I saw some reviews that sitting arrangement is nice and all that.


Although the leg space and quality of seats were indeed ver good yet I was not happy with their service for one they don't serve in flight food you'll have to purchase it. Second the flight cost was not worth since you're traveling for very short distance and you don't need better quality seat to stretch your leg for that small time.


As my recommendation I'd suggest to opt for cheaper flight when you know it's short duration flight.


About the staff they were neither much courteous nor too rude it was like self service you enter you move inside they don't mind.

| Honolulu to San Diego. United is the worst airline. I got delayed and stuck in Oahu coming to and going back home to San Diego. Venturing to Oahu, both connecting flights were delayed and I missed my plane going to Lanai. And was stuck in Oahu. But at least I had my luggage. But was not offered a hotel or anything. However, the venture back home, they wouldn't let me onto the flight despite having a seat and confirmation number. Since I bought through expedia they were having issues giving me a paper ticket. I missed my flight and was stuck on Oahu with only my backpack and the clothes on my back. My suitcase made it home before I did. I didnt get a voucher or any accommodation. And Missed a day of work. Dont fly on united even if it is cheap. Fly Hawaiian if you travel to Hawaii. They have better customer service

I have travelled multiple times between Newark NY and Delhi. It has been a good experience thus far. This is one of the few direct flights to US. It usually takes between 14 - 15 hours and is usually on time. It is always suggested to book your seats in advance else if you try doing that near your travel time then you might end up getting the middle seat.


Complimentry drinks are served on the plane, they have good movie collection and you wont get bored, also they have power socket beneath their seats for charging : )

As they say, all that glitters is not gold. The same thing happened with me when I traveled to US last month for a trip. I decided to go with the United Airlines, as I had a voucher with me. The flight was scheduled to arrive at 10 AM in the morning, however, it was delayed by over an hour.


When the plane landed in the airport, there was again some delay due to some maintenance issues. It took more than 2 hours for the plane to be flight-ready. During that period, I bumped into few flight attendants with their carts. None of them offered any apologies, which was very strange. During the flight, only one complimentary soda was provided to all the passengers.  The seats were not very comfortable either.  My seat had TV controls on the top of the armrests, which was really a  hassle.  I could not rest my arms without changing the controls of the TV.  I had to use my Ipad for entertaining myself.


The food served was average at best. It was cold and the snacks were nothing more than a plain, thin sandwich with some beverages. The sandwich itself was soggy and I left it on the plate itself. I could not find any socket for charging my phone either. There was little leg-space available to maneuver my legs as well.  The flight attendants rarely smiled or exchanged pleasantries with the passengers. The seats looked worn out and uncomfortable. Overall, the airline's services have been declining over the past few years. It would be hard for them to remain in the race, if they continue to provide such poor services.

Flew from delhi to newark , flight was nice , long .they got a lot of stuff in their entertainment unit , good was good , specialy for pure veg guys . Indian dishes were in the menu , crew was also good . But lack of indian attendents , there was a old lady who didnt speak english . Nd crew members were having a hard time understanding what what she wants . other wise it was all nice and smooth .

I have M.Tech. and Doctoral degree from  IITs  of India and have written books in Engineering under PHI publication, which have been prescribed as text books in reputed Universities of India. I have also worked as expert paper reviewer for reputed engineering society of America. On May 2, while proceeding to San Francisco by Lufthansa airlines 757, via Frankfurt my Cabin luggage was accepted by staff at Bombay Airport as per procedure.


The connecting flight of Lufthansa 9052 is operated by united Airlines between Frankfurt and SFO. There was a lay over of 5h 55m at Frankfurt, which is quite tiring. I was told at Bombay by Lufthansa booking staff that a boarding pass will have to be obtained at Frankfurt for further journey however, for cabin luggage I need not bother. After 8h and 35 minutes of flight,  a very long walk at the airport and 5 hours of stop we were extremely tired. When the lady standing at check point, prior to counter of boarding pass, inquired  for number of bags, I thought she is asking for hand baggage.


On my reply she agitated and repeated the questions. When the cabin luggage is already accepted at Bombay, why a passenger should expect a question on cabin luggage again? Her replies were not only offending but insulting. Her next question was'who packed the luggage?' Is it a relevant question after accepting baggage at Bombay airport! I was wonder stuck that passengers can be ill treated this way by United Airlines staff. Lady was telling me that I don't understand English! Can one expect such arrogant  behavior with customers!


My personal advise to all air passengers will be, 'never travel by United Airlines to save your self respect'.

Travel journey: Mumbai to Newark International Airport


Duration: Approx 13hrs


My Experience: Having travelled via Qatar airways that takes more than 15hrs to reach USA, I was really excited for this flight. It was a non-stop flight that would take you directly to the destination without any layovers, so my expectations were quite high. I was thouroughly dissapointed by the service provided by United Airlines.


Except for the fact that it takes fewer hours to reach the destination, the journey itself was uncomfortable. Firstly, the rude staff at the counters. The luggage allowance is 23kgs, so even a 23.2kgs is chargeable! The legroom in the flight is pathetic. Being a long haul flight, you expect decent legroom to make the tiring journey, comfortable, but not in United Airlines!


The seats were uncomfortable with no provision of blankets. The food was boring and pathetic, nothing to make the journey enjoyable. Just plain rice and curry, tortilla, bread, etc that too very less in quantity. I asked for Red wine, for which the flight attendant rudely mentioned, "Its chargeable!" The takeoff and landing was a bit shaky and scary which further made me hate this airline. The flight reached a 15 mins late at Newark. Though that is excusable, the pathetic ride wasn't!


Last Word: Not travelling again and definitely not recommending!
