Ultra Doux Shampoo Reviews

Best for normal hair
Jan 27, 2004 02:20 PM8604 Views

After colouring my hair, L'oreal Elvive was a bit too expensive to buy on a regular basis, so I was quite glad when Ultra Doux brought out Fig and Rose oil shampoo/conditioner for coloured hair. It was definitely more budget friendly, and the rosy packaging was very attractive in my bathroom ! The one thing I like about Garnier products is their lovely fruity fragrances, and this one was no different. The moment I opened the bottle, the delicious fruity rose oil fragrance was like aromatherapy. Fantastic ! This was one of their best fragrances ever. The shampoo itself was thick and oily, but spread easily in the hair and didnt weigh it down. After rinsing it off, I felt my hair was a little dry. The conditoner is very light, and spread easily, but its smell was much milder. My hair felt better after using the conditioner, but was still a little on the dry side, compared to what my hair is normally. The lovely fragrance lasts for a couple of days. My hair never smelled so good ! After using it for a more than a month, I felt it didn't make my hair colour as vibrant as the L'oreal one, and my colour was fading as it would with any other normal shampoo/conditioner. Ultra Doux is a good shampoo as it uses very gentle natural detergents, and leaves hair very soft, but it doesnt improve or enhance your hair in anyway. Since my hair is dry, wavy and prone to frizz in humidity, I expect a lot more from a Shampoo. It seems best suited for people with normal hair, but certainly not for dry/very dry hair. Good product , but for me, perhaps not good enough.

10/10 for this shampoo

Good face is always complemented by good hair.

Good hair care begins with good cleansing.A good ph balanced shampoo is ideal for hair care.

Shampoo is nothing but detergent or base surfactants, if the other ingredients such as the conditioners, emollients, beeswax, almond oil, fragrance, etc. are removed. But the surfactants are extremely mild.Usually, it has a three way action:

1.The sebum coats each shaft of hair (which results in dirt and grease that get stuck to it) The base surfactant of a shampoo penetrates the surface of the hair ( to the scalp) and dissolves the sebum.

2.Then the shampoo holds the dirt and grime, till it is rinsed out.

3.Shampoo has an emulsifying effect that prevents re-deposition of the dirt and grease on the shaft.

I found the new Ultra Doux shampoo with lemon and olive oil to be very good because I have extremely dry and thin hair. Hair that breaks quite easily. Use of oil results in hair becoming settled and flat on the head. I like hair that remains bouncy.

I generally keep my hair dry during the day and use oil in the night (but not on a frequent basis)I shampoo my hair every alternate day.

I found the Ultra Doux shampoo gentle on my hair, its invigorating fragrance lasts for quite a long time. Lemon in the shampoo removes all the impurities like dust and grime that could have settled on the hair. Olive oil in it ensures that the shine in the hair is maintained and the damaged keratin layer is bonded together and the hair is nourished. It makes the hair squeaky clean and helps the hair to breath. In addition to lemon and olive oil the shampoo contains other fruit acids which are good for hair.

What I like about this shampoo is it is not over claiming any benefit of providing strength etc. etc.Ultra Doux is a good shampoo that keeps you and your hair smelling fresh during the day.
