Third eye blind is one of my favourite bands. nice 90's alt. rock, my kind of music. they've released 3 albums so far and a greatest hits collection too (2006). band info and bio and pics and news - it's all there in their official site https://3eb.com. I like almost all their songs from their 3 albums. here's some songs selected for the song by song review. these are my short reviews of the song.

third eye blind (1997):

JUMPER- yes, one of their hits..i think the 1st song I heard of theirs.

NARCOLEPSY- I didn't like this song when I first heard it but my bro loved it and would always listen to it.

HOW'S IT GONNA BE-nice simple honest lyrics and song about hows it gona be???

GOD IF WINE- I like this song the best in this album..

blue (1999)

ANYTHING- .........

WOUNDED- this is suppose to be like a sad type of song but it's a strong track. this starts the new album sound well

1000 JULY- I like this song cuz the guitar hooks go like zzng zzng

SLOW MOTION- this was a controversial song or something because of the lyrics (guns/drugs) my fav line in the song is ''and her nose starts to bleed, a most beautiful ruby red'' hahaha

out of the vein (2003)

FORGET MYSELF- I learnt the lyrics of this song because I wanted to sing to it's chorus and now although I don't like this song so much I still sing to it cuz I know the lyrics to it

WAKE FOR YOUNG SOULS- this song I heard it everyday for months and i'm quite sick of it

COMPANY- nice song

FASTER- nice song

To whoever wanted a review on TEB:

Genre: Grunge or post-Grunge.

Similar to: you'll probably like this album if you have liked collective soul's 'collective soul', pearl jam, radiohead and the like.

This album: this particular self-titled album is a gem of an album. their follow up album 'blue' was not so good (according to me)...

the music is immediately catchy... tracks 'like semi-charmed life' and 'how's it going to be' will have you immediately sitting up and ready to judge the album a good one... the other tracks, once they grow on you, confirm this to be true. 'jumper', 'graduate', 'good for you' are among such numbers... surprising number of good tracks sitting on one disc.

defi good buy if I ever saw one.

cheers

The Best CD of the 1990's is a must own for anyone who can remember names from the past they wish would still be in their life. This is a great sounding album, but also a menaningful look into the feelings of angst, sadness, and reflection that pervade all our lives.

The CD has four parts to it. The first two songs offer solid rock songs providing a glimpse of the themes to appear in later songs. Semi-Charmed Life, Jumper, Graduate, and How's it Going to Be form the popular segment of the CD. These four songs are all meaningful and definitely catchy pop rock tunes. Nothing sounds better than Semi-Charmed Life, although the lyrics are almost totally about drugs. Jumper has a terrific musical ending that is energetic and original. Graduate is a catchy hard roker, and How's it Going to Be is as perfect as melancholoy gets.

The third segment of the CD is not the best. Thanks a Lot, Burning Man, Good for You, and London are generic filler songs. There are some guitar highlights in these four tracks, but not enough to keep you interested.

But the real magic of the CD arrives in the final four tracks. I want You is a melodic, catchy tune with an obvious and overwhelming theme of longing running through it. The Background is the saddest of all songs, with a legitimately emotional voice belting out, ''I felt you long after we were through...''. And in typical Third Eye Blind style, the catchy guitar chords pick up where lyrics leave off. Just when the lyrics hit you, the music is getting ready to hit you harder. The penultimate song, Motorcycle Drive-By starts slow and ends passionately, seemingly ending the CD. But there is one more track to come, and it will leave you with no doubt in your mind that this is the best CD of the 90's. That last lyric and the closing music offer a perfect end to a near-perfect album.

One cant help but exult at the phenomenal music this frisco group has come out with. This fledgling group already has a massive fan following. This album is characterised by moving lyrics and strings that make ur hair stand on end.Highly recommended songs are jumper &motorcycle drive by.The rest of the songs are amazing too but the said two songs are out of this world.Itis a must buy for all music lovers especially the ones that lean towards alternative and rock.goodbye folks and happy listening this is the slayer signing off.

A worthwhile debut album

This is one album which is characterised by great lyrics, amazing strings. It's no surprising matter that this relatively new 'Frisco band has managed to notch up an impressive number of sales and a formidable fan following with their debut album ''3eb''.

For the uninitiated, Third Eye Blind consists of : Stephan Jenkins (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars,

drums, percussion, programming); Kevin Cadogan (vocals, guitar, auto harp); Arion Salazar (vocals, piano, bass); Brad Hargreaves (drums).

The album kicks off with ''Losing a Whole Year '', followed with ''Narcolepsy''. If one's observant he'll notice that more or less all the songs flag off with a soothing accoustic tune and then the gradual transition to tuneful electric guitaring and shades of grunge is made extremely effectively and so the end result is a balanced mix of is a study in contradictions, presenting heavy, often melancholy, themes in the guise of catchy, tuneful power pop.

The irresistible single ''Semi-Charmed Life'' is just one example of Kevin Cadogan and Stephan Jenkins' agile lyrical stylings. The delirious tempo aptly reflects both a high feeling and a sense of desperation, of things spinning out of control.

The album is chock full of searching lyrics set against a background of lush, rhythmic music. ''How's It Going To Be'' has a palpable sense of nostalgia and loss. The funky ''I Want You'' expresses a yearning for

connection:

''Children love to sing but then their voices Slowly fade away

People always take a step away

From what is true

That's why I like you around

I want you.''

My personal favourite song in this album is ''God of Wine'', the vocals are so amazing, complimented by great strings and bass, I possibly cannot do justice to it by writing by a generic review with an objective of grading.
