The Taj Mahal Hotel is a more than 100 years old and situated near the The Gateway of India. The hotel overlooks the coastline. I have never seen such an overwhelming hotel throughout my life. The view of the gateway of India & sea is stunning. It is a 5 start deluxe hotel and offers a world class services like any other luxurious hotels of the Tata's. The hotel hosts guests from all over the world who comes for leisure, tourism and for business.

I been to this hotel a few months ago as I had some office work and stayed there for 3 days. I was given an option to stay in the old tower or the new one. I decided to stay in the old tower and was allotted room no. 503. On my arrival I was offered welcome drinks & snacks and attended by on of the room attendant, who was very polite to me. The room had fabulous Interiors and I enjoyed my stay there.

I stayed in a deluxe room and the quality of the room was excellent. Everything was kept in the right place and the room had a pleasing fragrance, even the bathroom was neat and luxurious. During my stay I found the staff very polite and friendly and I am satisfied with all the services I availed during my stay specially the room service and the laundry.

The food was awesome with a blend of all the cuisines. I enjoyed almost all the cuisines there including continental, chinese, Italian, and Indian to name a few. I also enjoyed the Buffet service, which was excellent and also the food & presentation on the buffet was the best in class.

The ambience of the hotel was super luxurious and it has all the facilities like a 24 hour coffee shop, beauty salon, gym, swimming pool, bar etc. everything a person need in his daily life.

So, my experience with the hotel is a pleasant memory for the lifetime. On my departure I was offered complimentary drinks & chocolates and also given a surprise gift. So, staying in such a luxurious hotel is absolutely value for money.

The hotel's original building was commissioned by Tata and first opened its doors to guests on 16 December 1903. It is widely believed that Jamsetji Tata decided to build the hotel after he was refused entry to one of the city's grand hotels of the time, Watson's Hotel, as it was restricted to whites only. However, this story has been challenged by some commentators that suggest that Tata was unlikely to have been concerned with 'revenge' against his British adversaries. Instead, they suggest that the Taj was built at the urging of editor of The Times of India who felt a hotel worthy of Bombay was needed.[1] The original Indian architects were Sitaram Khanderao Vaidya and D. N. Mirza, and the project was completed by an English engineer, W. A. Chambers. The builder was Khansaheb Sorabji Ruttonji Contractor who also designed and built its famous central floating staircase. I frequently travel and have experienced the 5 stars, but this one tops it! They just get it right, all and every time. Really.

Just one example:

In the hotel limo from the airport to the hotel, they have wifi which is great. After a long flight this is great. What is even better, they have a limo dinner menu. This allows you to see what is available for eating at the hotel. You can read the menu at your leisure and hen tell the driver what you would like to eat and by the time you get to the hotel, the food is already in the room. This is really great, I have never experienced this anywhere else.

Although then hotel would need an upgrade of the interiors, this hotel is the only one I go to in Bombay.I am impressed by this landmark luxury hotel in mumbai, it looks opulent both inside and outside.The story sounds more tantalising for me. An Idian wealthy man was rejected entering the hotel cos he is indian, while his western friends all enter. He was very angry and decided to build this first luxury hotel as the first indian to do so. I am very much touched by the story.Stayed March 2015, travelled with friends

We all heard about the Taj hotel of Mumbai. Often when I travel to Mumbai with my friend then we always goes to this hotel.

The Taj Mahal Palace is a five-star hotel and resort that overlooks the Mumbai harbour and scenic coastline. The hotel includes 560 luxury suites, all of which are fitted with elegant decor and overlook the Arabian Sea.

In addition to the spacious excellent  rooms. The bathroom is spacious and nice. All the hotel is fully air conditioned and provide the high security with the CCTV cameras.

As soon as you approach the grand building you know you're in for a special experience. The staff show Indian hospitality at it's very best and good communications. When you check-in, they garland you and do a tilak - a traditional welcome for a guest. My all friends are like it and it is awesome hotel.

I have heard about taj many times. So I was excited to check in. I arrived mumbai for some official work it was  great experience for me  staying in this hotel. Rooms in hotel are big, neat and clean.  I was getting a wonderful look of india gate from my toom window.

The staff here is very polite. The decor is just mind blowing. This hotels has around 565 rooms and 49 suites. There is more than 10 banquet halls. This hotel comes under the luxury division. Mostly all of my business deals are done in this hotel. It has become lucky for me.

There are many facilities, the laundry service is always available, florist, beauty salon, room service and many more. One can experience a luxury service provided here by the staff. This hotel is just unique in itself. It is known as one of the biggest hotel in mumbai.

Taj mahal suitated in agra the biggest monuments in india built in ancient times it is made up of full marbels it as an amazing illustration of this unique country's culture and history. .The whole structure is topped off by four small domes surrounding the famous bulbous central dome. Before you approach the Taj, .you'll need to remove your shoes or wear shoe covers so as not to add more wear and tear to the marble surfaces. .! It is truly an incredible site to see the marble carvings and inlays on the building   .The Taj has a very good official site giving all the necessary info on the history and building of the Taj here.

the best surprise in place is the delicacy of the works in stone: the best artists were gathered to decorate the interior but also the exterior., with all kinds of representations allowed by Muslim religion.

for a long time this amazing building was on my wish list of things I want to see in my life. And in january 2014 I finally got to see it

I have stayed at the Taj twice this year and although I feel that it cannot be beaten on location, The hotel has such a grandeur and atmosphere and the entrance hall alone is an experience in itself. There are three very good restaurants(Indian, Chinese and Japanese) and we ate in all three of them and where never disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. though I have been disappointed both times with the quality of the room. The rooms in the Tower are relatively uninspiring. They are in adequate size but the decor and lay-out could be massively improved. I visited one of the rooms in the main(renovated) building and was extremely jealous.

The facilities of the hotel are excellent, the staff are so well tuned into their customers requirements without coming across as overbearing or false. I like the Storm Harbour bar, restaurant and the gym and pool are excellent. The service throughout is perfection.

Honestly there is very very little to fault.

The building is historical and beautiful, the location was great for us as we were in Mumbai for fun.

The Taj is one of the most important historical landmarks of Mumbai and rightly so! It was a great experience staying in this hotel. The view from the room, of the gateway and the sea is absolutely breathtaking. I would recommend staying at the old wing rather than the new one, which has more charm although it is more expensive too!

The food quality is somewhat on par for a 5 star hotel, but the best is their breakfast which is a massive spread and will have you skipping lunch after eating it!
