The Girl in Room 105 - Chetan Bhagat Reviews

It's not a novel but a screenplay for a film
Jan 27, 2022 02:58 PM 437 Views (via Android App)

I have read his earlier books. They were good enough to read and enjoy. However from the beginning movies are being made on his books but monotonus makes readers bore. He released a trailer before releasing this book. It shows he only writes to get royalty. I felt this book like a film script and nothing. Only description about characters and their lives. I'll rate this book 2 star out of 5.

Its of Time Waste to read this Book !
Jan 25, 2022 08:55 AM 347 Views (via Android App)

Now, why im telling this that, this is the time-waste to read this book, is that, because of its story. The story of this novel or a book is too out-dated or boring. Because, if novel readers or normal readers too, if reading any books, they are more focus to story than the characters and their livelihoods.

Basically, at first, I am to amazed or feeling very excited that what's this story will be ? Or who is she ? The girl ? And what she is doing in Room 105 ? And What is this exactly the story behind the Room 105 and why only this number or this room ?

So, I started reading this novel, and hence, after so many days passed away, I started boring off by reading this novel or you can say i, even, started to run away in order to by reading this book. I am starting to make excuses with respect to not to read this book, as I don't want to !

But, I have completed this book by reading it completely. Now, why is that, that im telling it's a very boring book, because the stpry revolves around only 3-4 characters and the story actually focuses on pur main actor or we can sayour character. But, after sometime its been like very sad feelings comes towards to our main character. Then, after when we come to know that, the girl is actually a girlfriend of our main character and then even get worse thar they broke up and infact, when we ( as a reader) comes to know that how they are dealing with each other after their break up !

But, story get's literally boring and even nit able to even read the text of the book, is when, the story revolves around the girl's point of view or her perspective and things can be understand by her point of view as well as from her perspective is that when we got to know is that she is the only villian of the entire story.

Like, literally, if the "Chetan Bhagat" the author of this novel, "The Girl in Room 105" has shown the simple ending too like the tradegy love story, or a happy ending love story, then too its fine ! But he has even make it more difficult for readers or users of this book to understand the story first, then make the environment of users or readers, a well, known towards things and the story plot and atlast its kills an entire mood of what the user or the reader is going through.

I, as a user or reader of the book can understand that, the author is trying to make things pump up. Like, the feeling of readers should get amazed or surprised to get that change in story, to be seen like on thrilling point of view. We all can understand, but some stories doesn't want to go like this as this one is ended.

A story which has a psychological involve around anything is can be ended like this, but it isn't. Apart from the story, the plots are too weak as well. Plots means the location of where does all this took place, the story! Like, the other books of the author "Chetan Bhagat", like, "The Three Mistakes of my Life", "2 States", "One Night @ the Call Centre", are also has great context in their realm of their story plot. Like, how the book, "One Night @the Call Center", is actually the story which is roaming around the bunch of friends that all are working in a Call Center and looking for a turn in their life as all has some aim in their life to move on. So, readers, or most of the readers of Chetan Bhagat are teenage only, so, what affect it will get by reading his books. As, it gets motivation or inspiration, by reading the "One Night @the Call Center", a dedication or passion towards life/career life, by reading the "2 States".

So, in conclusion, th story affects the users or readers, so in short, as a one time read purpose, that is, the fan of Chetan Bhagat, a person can read this book atleast once !

With this book, author Chetan Bhagat has stepped in a new writing genre of suspense-thriller novels and has done justice with it. Plot constitutes a girl named Zara who had a past love- life with the protagonist Keshav. The story revolves around Zara's murder which takes place with Keshav being the first person to see her dead in her hostel room. Suspicions for the culprit move from Keshav, his friend Saurabh, Zara's PhD guide, Zara's step-brother, even her father and her best friend from the Indian army. Now, its the task of police to find out the culprit but along with them, Keshav and Saurabh get involve in their separate investigation and find out the roots of Zara's murder to Kashmir. What happens further and who's the culprit? Well, you can pick up the book and get to know.

The storyline is fast-paced and engaging. Avid readers may finish the book in a single night. No incidences have been dragged too much and climax would keep you in shock for some time. Overall, it is one of the best mystery suspense thriller novel I have read till now. HAVE A HAPPY READING!

AWESOME EXPERIENCE of "The Girl in Room 105"
Oct 19, 2020 09:16 AM 333 Views (via Android App)

This is my first Chetan Bhagat book that I have read. In fact this story is so amazing that I have read the book twice. And to be very honest the story is EXTREMELY well planned and well balanced one. The plot twist at the end is so unplanned and amazing that no one could find out before reading the entire story. This story is not at all a Romance Novel although the main lead shows his love towards his murdered ex-girlfriend and himself catches the killer. The entire story takes you through various mental conditions of the lead and gradually you feel that you yourself is solving the case. Really , hats off to such awesome books.

An unlove story

Sometimes, unloving someone is more difficult than loving someone. And that's this novel suggests in its story.

The girl in room no. 105 is written by Chetan bhagat. And I think each and every person is familiar with this name. It's a book of 312 pages, published by Westland. It's releasing date is 9th October 2018. And the genre of this novel is Romance, Crime and thriller. According to it's preview, it is an unlove story with an incredible amount of thriller blended within.

My experiences with Chetan bhagat creation is too pathetic. I never enjoyed his creation because all are based on love stories and romance and I don't like it anymore. But this book is something different from my all expectations. It creates a obsession within me.

So, As usual, the story begins with an event of an IITian institute. And the main protagonist of this novel is Keshav, a graduate IITian student who tutoring other students to clear their JEE exams. He is frustrated with his job because he never enjoyed his work. Alongwith, after passing four years of his breakup with her ex-girlfriend, zara lone, yet he is incapable of exfoliate her. And always stalking her on every social media platforms. But, zara lone moved on in her life by forgetting all her pasts.

Meanwhile, suddenly one day, on her birthday, she texts keshav that she is missing him in her life. And after reading her messages, as a majnu do, he reached her room, room no. 105 . But as he entered that room he has gotten shocked. He has founded the dead body of Zara lone. And then onwards the main climax of this novel started. Finding the murderer of Zara lone, creates a type of obsession in mind of every readers. Alongwith, the book also raises a lot of social, political, racial and religious issues. And that's why only, this novel is able to keep one hooked till the end.

So, give it a try and find the murderer as well as share your experiences with me about this book and Baghat's creations.

Simply awesome!

Well to be very honest, I found this book very boring initially because the initial 10 pages are really boring but after finishing those 10 pages in couple of months, I got to know that the upcoming pages are filled with mystery , suspense , humour and much more. I finished the book in couple of weeks because you just can't put it away. It is indeed a good page turner. It is an unlove story so there is a part of the book which showcases the romance between the the male and female protagonist.

Guys just go for it!

"The Girl In Room 105" is not the kind of title that we associate with Chetan Bhagat. and if you go by trailer, which was released on his YouTube channel, tge thriller emanates from the romance between tge son of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh worker and a Kashmiri girl. Finally RSS is getting a space in English Popular Fiction. This book is a thriller love story.

Reasons to read it:

1) It is not another Indian love story.

2) The story is not too obvious like other Indian mystery books.

3) It is best enjoyed as a one time read.

An amazing book

It is worth your time and amazing book.

A Nocturnal Rendezvous That Wasn't To Be

An unabashed fan, I always look forward to Chetan Bhagat’s novels to quench my never-ending thirst to read. Unfortunately, his last few novels were a let-down for me. The Girl in Room 105 is the latest novel coming from Chetan Bhagat’s stable.

For all those late bloomers, Chetan Bhagat is an Indian author whose qualifications suggest he would be better off in some multinational or a start-up company. Despite everything going for him, he chose to pursue his passion in writing. If the industry lost a good entrepreneur, the world of books gained a suave writer.

My first impression:

Not a catchy title, and that’s not a surprise. Almost all of Bhagat’s novels have uninspired titles. In Chetan Bhagat’s case, the saying holds good, “never go by the cover of the book or its title.

”Author Profile:

His bestselling books are Five Point Someone, One night at the Call Center, and 2 States. There are a few more books that are just about there. Further information of his work can be had from his personal website with the same name.

The Story In a Nutshell:

The idea is to give you a synopsis and, thereby, give you a reason to decide for yourself whether it is worth a read.

Chetan Bhagat skips the trodden path and jumps into the realm of suspense thrillers for a change. That said, old habits die hard and so a generous dose of romance is thrown in for all us desperate and romance starved readers.

‘Chandan Classes’ is a JEE Tuition Centre catering to IIT students. The protagonist, Keshav is an IITian and works as a teacher in the tuition centre. Not satisfied with his job, he tries his luck through LinkedIn, but fails to find a decent job. Keshav hails from an orthodox family. The RSS ideology is strongly ingrained in his father’s psyche, who he is a member of the political outfit. His mother is a homemaker, and doesn’t have much say in the house.

Zara is a colleague of Keshav and is, also, pursuing her Ph.D. She is from a Kashmiri Muslim family and both are in love. Unfortunately, their love story ends in heartache due to their irreconcilable religious beliefs and dogma.

Keshav is unable to come to terms with this setback in love. He yearns for Zara’s company. But, Zara has moved on and finds solace in Raghu’s arms. Raghu is a classmate of Keshav and is more of a geek. There is yet another friend of Keshav called Saurabh and he is also part of the Chandan Classes setup.Keshav repeatedly calls Zara besieging her to come back to him, but to no avail as she doesn’t respond to his overtures. Saurabh tries to help Keshav forget his past love affair and focus on re-building his future.

If you have reached this far, you may as well read the rest.

Keshav loses Zara, who loses her life… and we lose interest in the rest of the story.Raghu is soundly beaten up by some unknown goons and is hospitalised on the day of Zara’s birthday. Keshav knows it is Zara’s birthday, and thinks of greeting her but is hesitant as he realises what her response would be.Keshav dozes off after enjoying a bout of drinks with Sourabh. Early in the morning( read 3 o’clock) , Keshav gets a text message from Zara asking him why he had not wished her. Not surprisingly, Keshav is shocked. But, the shock turns into excitement when he is asked by Zara to come to her room forthwith.

Keshav, along with Saurabh rushes to meet her at the girls’ hostel. After overcoming a few obstacles, he manages to climb a tree close to Zara’s room and slides in through the window. Keshav does not think much of the situation when he finds the room dark and silent. Zara might have fallen asleep waiting for him, he feels. As she does not stir even after his arrival, Keshav touches her forehead. Not only there is no response, Keshav realises that he is caressing a steely cold forehead. Switching on the light, he finds her stone cold dead.

Keshav is shocked and scared beyond his wits. The fact that the woman he loved so dearly is no more and lying dead on her birthday. Saurabh advises Keshav that they should leave everything undisturbed and run away from the scene. However, Keshav is determined to get justice for Zara. Therefore, he informs the police, Raghu, and her parents.

Thus begins a journey of hunting for clues to apprehend the real killer. The story takes a few twists and turns before reaching its logical end.

Should you read this book?

Chetan Bhagat finds himself in uncharted waters, though, largely of his own choosing. The romantic part of the story is its strong point. However, the suspense thriller part is a little tacky. Somehow, this part didn’t jell with me. Maybe, I am expecting too much from a CB novel. I feel Five Point Someone is his best work till date, unless he surprises me with a magnum opus in the future.

Read it, by all means, if you are a diehard CB fan. Read it even if you aren’t one.

Not so good...
Feb 19, 2020 04:43 PM 537 Views (via Android App)

It is totally different from other cheran Bhagat books. Not interestingat at all. Regular book reeders would be bored. Though a new genre attempted by Chetan Bhagat but not like other books of him. Storyline is worse and not at all interesting. Exaggerated and failed to make it a thriller. A failed attempt to bring out what Chetan Bhagat had in all his other books. Its wastage of time. It is better to read older books of Chetan Bhagat again than wasting your time on this book. Its just counting of pages and killing your time.

Awesome Book
