The Earthen Oven, Avenue Road, Bangalore

This is a tiny restaurant in Residency road near Hotel Gateway in Bangalore. Its not so impressive as you step in. The decore is kept simple and you would feel you are in a fast food joint.

But appearances can be deceptive as I found out in the course of my meal there.

We were looking out for a quick bite before catching a movie. Its very rare to find quick service and great food all at the same time. Incidentally this place is owned by a friend's husband so we thought to give this place a try.

The first impression I got was that it was crowded. Well that boded good for an eating place.. I thought that this would be a good place to eat but I was still apprehensive about the service...

How could they manage to get food within 5 to 7 minutes and so they did. The menu also looked promising. Mind you its typical Indian food.

Our ( Me and My hubby:) ) order included a Lassi, Tandoori Kabab half ( 6 to 7 big pieces), Mutton Pudina ( Mutton in Mint curry), Four rotis ( Indian Bread)....

All that was brought in record 7 minutes... I just could not believe it ... :) I would put this down as an excellent service. The host was very courteous... that added to the charm.. I liked that.. the food was great and well you will feel like coming back to this place again and again...

Now for the bill... The order costed us 170/- and we as customers were not only satisfied with the food but with the bill as well... Very frankly speaking we would not have minded paying something more.. for the quality of food and service....:):)

Anyway this is a great place to treat your big group friends or colleagues to lunch or dinner ... Its a cool place for families too... and yes if you want to have a quick bite at a reasonable price ... this is the place to go if you are in and around MG road or Brigade Road in Bangalore ..
