The Academy School, Pune

Since I had heard about this school I thought of visiting it for my child's admission for secondary and it was utter disappointment.

Pros - nothing much except ground but it is half the time unused.

Cons -

Unhygienic toilets, half the time no water

Timetable changes too often

Principal is not at all good

Students are always burdened with lots of overwork

Inexperienced teachers who keep yelling at the kids always

No proper lights, curtains, projector in the class, the doors are broken and worst still that the washroom leaks. I found the school to be very dull.

Sometimes the periods are for 30 minutes, sometimes it changes to 40 minutes

Total mismanagement and favouritism by the principal with regards to the teachers and non teaching staff.

Got an opportunity to visit the school and also spoke to a few parents and teachers, none of them are happy with the secondary school.

The primary school is very good but secondary totally resembles a municipality school. Not at all of icse board level. The students can't even speak English that well.

I heard that the previous principal was way better than the present one. The current principal has totally messed up the administration.

Got to know that the teachers are not paid well and the way they are being treated by the principal is very bad. Unnecessary timings are stretched and periods are extended adding a burden both on the teachers and students. Will your child truly be happy at school as per what they say, I doubt. I am definitely not getting my kid's admission here.

I had visited TAS school for my kids admission for Jr.kg. we had interaction session where coordinator did not even greet us and ask about us. They boarded direct questions to to my 3 year old child even that he answered everything.and in final they gave us feedback , your child is not sitting at one place and we are not Ok with that.

Staff was very rude , not at all friendly with child.

Do not think friendly environment there with this experience so cancelled from our side.

TAS is one of the best schools in Pune offering best academics to the students. The academics is very well planned that promotes the overall development of a child. I can see a surprising growth in my child since he joined TAS.

Being a mother I am happy to admit my child to TAS. Right from pick-up until my child reaches home, TAS ensures he is always escorted by his caring teachers. Thank you TAS for making a home away from home experience for my child.

My child just participated in his first virtual elocution. He was so excited and happy with the virtual experience. TAS is doing great work. The teachers are not only conducting smart classes but also taking care of the extra-curricular activities, very well.

TAS Pune is doing a great job. Love the dedication thry show towards the learning and wellbeing of the child. Even in lockdown scenarios the School didn't failed to show the determination and dedication. Kudos TAS!!

TAS is surely one of the best ICSE schools in Pune. I would say the only school in Pune that promises and ensures same fee structure right from Nursery to Grade 10.

The Best School in Pune. Focusing Physical fitness, sports, All-round Curriculum, Music and many more. which is really very essential for children's.

The Academy School just opened up in Tathawade near Dange Chowk and they had their opening day on the 22nd of March(last week Sunday). The people who are managing this school are no strangers to education, even though they've only dealt with higher education(professional eg medical, dental, engg, MBA etc).

They are only pre-primary right now(nursery  Jr, Sr KG) even though they seem to be planning to expand to a full-fledged ICSE school eventually.

Some of the thing that struck me was the way they have built their classrooms, it reminds me of schools abroad. It's all very colourful and flexible and nothing that will scare a child. Nothing like the utilitarian atmosphere typical of Indian schools, traditional speaking(how we remember our schools, for eg!). Also, they have limited the class-size to 18 kids only, so that adequate attention can be paid to each child.

Anyhow, the security, pickup facilities and infrastructure all seem solid. the play area is pretty large, again unusual for schools of late where playgrounds just aren't there, or are too small. In the case of the Academy School, they haven't skimped on this part, and kids have outdoor as well as indoor games as well as a sandbox to let their imagination run riot. My 4 year old was giddy with excitement and just wouldn't leave without making a tiny little castle.

For the sake of parents' peace of minds, they also provide us with access to the CCTV footage of the classrooms and play areas so that we can see, from home or office, that the kids are safe, properly supervised at all times.

This school is a blessing in disguise for people like me who've just come to Pune and are looking for a school for their young kids. Having just opened, they're a great option for me as all other schools have already closed admissions anyway. Of course, that's not the only thing, they seem to know what they are doing here so that helps too!

Pros:
