Thai Connection in Bandra, Bombay, is a very good Restaurant. Its name, Thai Connection gives an impression as if it has any thing to do with Thailand. I do not know. As one who has been visiting Thailand ( Bangkok and Chiang Mai) since 1970, I can say that the Thai Connection in Bandra has no connection with Thailand. However, even the cooking here does not resemble traditional or modern Thai cooking, which is very hot, and which uses a lot of Thai herbs, which are very good for health. The Thai Connection serves a mixed fare - Chinese and Thai Food. One speciality about Thai Food is that it has a variety of Sea Food.
Last time I was there, I had taken Thai Soup, Chinese Chop Soy and Chow Mien. They are very generous in serving substantial quantity of food in one serving. So, it is economical to go there with your family or friends. It is cheaper here than in Thailand. A good meal could cost you Rs.100/- or so. The waiters are friendly people.
I am still thinking to what the Thai Connection is connected.

One of the only non foo foo and great places that I have found in the three months of my being in Mumbai. the food here is authentic, the servers and the maitre d's are corteous, the place is quiet. almost everything about this place is just perfect. Food ( I repeat) is very good, and authentic - the place is easily accessible too. yes, its expensive - but bang for the buck. be careful about the amount of alocohol you consume here - will set your plastic into spin :-)
Addendum
------------
try out any of the clear soups. the satay there is about ok, nothing too great. the stir fries are pretty nice. and their regular Thai curries (the Gaeng kari types) actually do taste Thai.
If you like genuine Thai food, this is the place to go to. However, Thai Connection is expensive. But I have frequented this place quite often because I find the ambience great. Also, the waiters are quite kid-friendly and nice. The Satay is excellent. So are the batter-fried vegetables in sweet and sour sauce (dont know the Thai name). The Thai green curry, though, was not as spicy as I like it. This is better at Mainland China and Peninsula. The Tom Yum soup was excellent again.
One thing to avoid here are the hard drinks. They are too expensive. Also, they tend to sell you imported drinks (and hide the domestic ones). Ask for the domestic ones, they ARE available.
The ambience is nice and quiet. We had gone there on Sunday night but still it was not very crowded (could be the price factor).
