This book deals with the way life carries us through, no matter how hard the going gets, and how simple joys can account for much. The book written from the perspective of a ten-year old, Grace Blue Ewing, portrays each and every emotion that a person goes through at this stage, be it an annoying elder sister, fights with best friends, crushes and so on.

Everything Grace (popularly known as Sprig) wants, her older sister Dakota, already has. From getting extra turns in the kitchen with mother, to looking after a favourite neighbour's pet, Dakota has it all. And as if that is not enough, anything Sprig complains, Dakota just grins and calls her a baby. All of it is just what is needed for a ten-year old to wish that her sister would disappear and that is what the title of the book is all about, a list called 'Ten Ways To Make My Sister Disappear'.

But this year, when her father is away, her favourite neighbour is ill and the class bully is behaving like a boyfriend, Sprig will discover that allies come in every shape and sometimes they may be related to you. The book also deals with the sweet relationship that a father and daughter share and the emotions that only they understand.

Written in simple, lucid language, this book is a good one. But Wait! Do you know it's price, it costs Rs 667. The story is good, but it fails to justify it's high price. If the price of the book was between Rs 200 to Rs 450, it would have been good. But Rs 667 is a price which is too high for a book like this. It is not worth buying. But I have bought it. So, I am trying to sell it.
