In case of accomodation and food, tarkali and devbhag is commercial so too.much costly, even more costly mumbai and pune,

If u have own vehicle then ok otherwise , for 4 km 150 is fare, sctoor rent 400, gear rent 600,

Malvan to kolhapur fare 1000 rs to 1300 , strictly speaking people are business minded, and last nature is very good , I just want to suggest for own vehicle and stay in malvan,

3 places just 10 km cirlcle, be mind road has small width,

Tarkarli is the heaven of Maharashtra. The people's how live her are very good natured. Mostly people's are non-vegetarian here. There main occupation is catching fishes like bangada, surmai, prince, etc. We can see one beautiful island called tsunami island which is destroyed due to the tsunami

Tarkarli is best replacement of goa .

Tarkarli is very fast growing tourist hub and is becoming the next preferred location after goa from the past few years.

Tourists from all over the world are seen at this place round the year, Tarkarli is blessed with beautiful and clear white sand beaches, serene backwaters, silence and greenery in the nature and lots of other attractive places like traditional markets, temples, forts in the nearby villages and city. Moreover features like snorkelling, dolphins and scuba diving have added to the popularity of the hub.

I went there last month and the place is amazing with humangous beauty in it. The beaches are so clean and the place is so quite. That I have never seem such clean and silent beaches in india. The place is not much crowded and is beautiful . The malvani food is famous and types of fishes . Although there are quite less options for vegetarians but its ok. There are many beaches. We went to chivla beach , tarkarli beach and many other points. I did all the water sports activities there at devbaug beach like scuba diving, para sailing etc. I would recommend this place to everyone

This is very famous beach point in malvan. Lovely sunset is looking at evening time.Lovely nature.we can enjoy the scooba diving and fish hunting here. Also play many games at beach. Near the beach many restorant are available so u can enjoy the beach very beautifully .

The one of the most beautiful beach in Marharashtra is tarkarli beach. To reach there we have to take a train to reach at khokan then we have to take some transport to go at beach. The sand of the beach is so clear like diamond. The cucise like fish food is famous . The freshest and the juices test are there in food

The stay was quite amazing, apart from the very location of the stay, the ambient surrounding, the people and the exquisite rooms made it overall an amazing experience.

The food was the best part about dada vengurlekars place. I've never had such amazing sea food ever in my life. I've dined in 5 star hotels and everywhere elsewhere, but the perfectly balanced flavours and amazing preparations method which are authentic in every manner, made the stay fantastic.

SCUBA DIVING:

FOR SCUBA YOU NEED TO GO TO MALAVAN BEACH THERE ARE MANY OFFICES OF SCUBA .YOU CAN GO ANY ONE OF THEM AND TAKE TICKET .IT WILL COST YOU APPROC RS. 600 - 800 PER PERSON.  THEY WILL TAKE YOU FROM OFFICE TO  SCUBA SPOT BY BOAT AND THEY WILL DROP YOU IN ONE BOAT FROM WICH YOU CAN DO SCUPA.WHICH IS VERY ADVANTURIOUS EXPERIENCE. AFTER SCUBA THER WILL DROP YOU BACK TO OFFICE.

One of the finest beach towns in India is Tarkarli beach.The sand sparklex like gold and the surf simply invites you to cavort in the sea for hours.Located on the Konkan coast, in order to get this heaven to earth, you have to take a train to Kudal.From there an autirickshaw will drive you to your choice of resort alongside the beach.After all formalities you can change your swimwear and dash off to the pristine beach.You can njoy the pleasurez of snorkelling amongst the coral reefs below the surface of sea and exciting boat deep rides into the sea.We feel like that the Almighty started his work of creation here.The typical dish of Malvan is fish curry ( Pomfret) with steamed rice and solkadi( a pink drink made of kokum and coconut milk) .Guides are also available to guide you.

Me and my sister went to Tarkali on a back pack trip around 23rd Jan, 2011. It was an awesome trip. We stayed at Namita Beach resort right on the Tarkali Beach. Its a small hubmle place but the hosts were extremely nice and took good care of us. Its a very safe place for girls. Namita cooked excellent meals and provided us whatever we wanted.

I have never experienced such great hospitality before. THere were several hammocks at her resort and we just lazed around all day. she arranged for us to go snorkeling and also arranged cycles for us to go sight seeing. Cycles were as cheap as 5 Rs per hour, even chocolate is more expensive that that. I would strongly recomment Namita beach resort to all if you need a simple place to stay.

Quite calm beach near goa yet outside goa. U can enjoy good malvani food. Nearby attraction are Tsunami island where u can enjoy all water sports at cheap rates than goa. Homestays are also nice n in budget. People of malvan are very helpful.

You can also experience Scuba Diving in malvam near tarkali beach, satisfactory experience for one time experience at low cost.

Tarkarli beach is around 6 kms from Malvan City. You have lots of options to stay over here what a beauty you can get beach view from hotels rooms. People who are bored with Noisy beaches and busy shacks can get rested here in Tarkarli beach.

Tarkarli is peaceful beach with almost no crowd and Good water sport options too, including scuba diving!

Devbagh beach is very close its the place where you can see dolphins. And if get time then please visit Sindhudurg fort in sea. Truly Amazing place.

If you want calm place nothing in your head then just pack your bags and get there. Thats what me and my friends were doing a. Amongst all the beaches in konkan this is the greatest beach although I have visited this spot very late. The special thing I want to mention that here only deep sea diving is there.

One should enjoy this place if you want calm an peace rather that crowd like goa. Should go for this beach.here staying is very cheap but the food they offer is little bit costly so ask about all the spending before knocking the doors of hotels.

Golden sands, blue waters and clear skies describe Tarkarli the best. This small but upcoming beach town in Maharashtra is fast becoming a tourist hot spot. Known for its pristine beaches, emerald green waters and great sea food, Tarkarli is gradually making its way to the top. Tarkarli is great place to visit if you want a break from your busy life and relax and unwind.

The blend of seas and sands work wonders and you will definitely come back rejuvenated and refreshed. There are no direct buses to Tarkarli but Malvan, 6 km away is well connected by road to nearby cities. From here there are taxis available to get you to Tarkarli.

The town is well connected by road and you can drive there from Mumbai, Pune and other nearby places. The best time to visit Tarkarli is from October to March as the temperatures during this time are perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving. If you want to get the cheapest and best deals then head to Tarkarli during summers (June-July).Winter season, stretching from November to February is warm and comfortable with average temperature being around 21°C.

If you wish to experience the cultural spirit of the place, visit Tarkarli in March, when Ramnavami Utsav is celebrated in the Mapurush temple. Cultural programs and drama are organised during the festival. Tarkarli experiences heavy rainfall during the monsoon season, from July to September; so better avoid visiting this place during this season. The list of things to do in Tarkarli includes taking a dip in the blue waters, snorkelling, scuba diving, swimming, boating or just relaxing and sunbathing on the beach. Take a trip to the famous Sindhdurg Fort, Tarkarli Creek, or head to Melvan – a picturesque town near Tarkarli. Pick up some cashew nuts and cashew bars from here or gorge on the scrumptious sea food. Tarkarli with its golden sands, sumptuous sea food, and blue-green waters is an ideal holiday destination.

Tarkarli is my 7th or 8th beach holiday in Konkan and I can safely say that it is the best beach destination I have been to(barring Goa). The place is small, local people are really friendly, prices are reasonable, facilities are decent, and above all the water is the cleanest you will find in entire konkan shore. We left for our water activities on 8 am the next day by using a hired boat. The boat covers Devbag sangam, Tsunami islamd, Dolphin point and Nivti rock.

Route:

We drove from Pune to Tarkarli to celebrate the new year in a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, and we found the perfect place for it. It takes about 8-9 hours from Pune to reach Tarkarli. Road is mostly good, barring a couple of patches.  It goes something like this: Pune->Swargate->Katraj Ghat->NH4 Bangalore highway towards Satara-> NH4 towards Kolhapur -> Gaganbawda-> Karul Ghat Section->Kankavli -> Kasal -> Malvan-> Tarkarli.

Once malvan is reached there is a Y junction, take the one that goes inside malvan town. Cross the bus stand and take a left turn towards Tarkarli. You will keep finding boards for various resorts in tarkarli, most prominent one being of MTDC resort at tarkarli. It is about 6 km from the malvan town. The roads are extremely narrow and there are hotels and homestays on both side of the road so be careful while driving through this patch.

Total time required for us was about~9 hours, 4 hours till kolhapur and remaining towards tarkarli, but for experienced drivers it will take max 4 hours, as we were halting every now and then for tea and loo breaks. Total Distance from Pune to Tarkarli is about 400 km, 240 km from pune to kolhapur and 160 km from Kolhapur to tarkarli.

Had visited Tarkarli recently and it was amazing experience with friends. Clean beaches/Nice sea food/Good hospitality. We were there in the month of April and stayed at hotel "Real Sea View" owned by couple of females.One side of the hotel opens up to the river and the other side open's up to the beach.was good place to stay.with home made sea food "Yummy".

Things to do once your in Tarkarli

1)Scuba Diving(a must thing to do.the experience is faadoooo)

2)Tsunami island(a beauty with lots of water sports activity. there is a very nice story shared about this island, on how it was named, wont share it here, its better to go visit this place and experience it)

3)Dolphin watching(totally on your luck, if u get to see them. WE DID)

The entire cost for these 3 activities was not more then Rs 1100/- initially the guides there start with Rs 1800 - 2000, but when you negotiate with them they give you a good rate. Overall and beautiful place to visit with family and friends?

Tarkarli beach is quite and calm beach in Malvan(Sindhudurg).I've been to this beach two year's ago with my family.The trip was very enjoyable and awesome.The beach is very clean and people here are friendly.I had visited in month of march but best time to visit is from December to February.

The trip will not cost more because accomodation cost is less and food here is value for money.You will only get Seafood which is very tasty and make you mouthwatering!.If you are a Vegeterian then you had came to wrong place buddy!.
