Taj Hotel - I went to taj chandigarh with my friends at there indian restaurant dera and the experience was fambulous and food which they served to us was excellent.Pankaj who served us was very helpful and the dinner was auspicious.Its truly a five star hotel.Wonderful experience with friends, it truly a valuable hotel in the city.

Taj hotel, chandigard is one of the most famous restraunt in the city chandigard the interior of the hotel is suberb mindblowing the lighting is awesome the waiters are well dressed nd diciplines nd well mannered the staters of this hotel are too awesome the food nd parathas are the best I am still love with one dish 'CHEEZE BUTTER MASALA' its the award winning dish of the hotel the hotel provide u the best services. The manager is soo sweet nd polite to us we stayed for 3 days nd it felt very confortable to us we also decided to vist again ? I rate this hotel a 5star hotel once u visit u will definetly be a regular customer?? the main thing is that it is affordable hotel u can pre book ur rooms nd can also visit with ur family

Taj is well know for its services. They treat you with bag full of politeness and overwhelming attitude. Room quality is best as comparative to other. Food especially thia food is nice and presentation is in such manner that one can get best instagaram pictures. I felt it is reasonable according to the arrangement. It is so good in ambience you feel like to get this treatment forever. I would suggest if you want to stay for three days you can enjoy your vacation over there.

Taj has an history of his own. It have his branch in chandigarh also. It has great rooms and sweets for there guests. The food was owesome, room service was good, beautifull rooms, but Taj is quite expensive, for normal people. Taj is just great hotel to stay. If you have enough money to stay just go for it. The hotel is good for your business stay. Centrally located. Good rooms but not modern. I will rate this as a four star deluxe hotel. It is the guest service where Taj Hotels always scores high.The team is very helpful & know the job well. Nice breakfast to start the day. The buffet had more south Indian dishes. In another.

This was my second visit to taj chandigarh and. I would travel here again for vacation without a second thought. The hotel really was the key to a nice stay. I had a standard room the first night, and the second night was moved up to the Concierge Level. Both rooms were about as nice and "high tech" as any high-end hotel that I have been in. The Concierge Lounge was nice for breakfast and a quick evening meal. The breakfast buffet downstairs was really not to be missed, though. The view from the upper floors of the hotel are breathtaking. The colorful birds flying around the traffic circle within the center of the adjacent hotels. Having the birds serenade you ( while they perch themselves on an outside ledge) , while you have breakfast was an experience that I have not had before.

Hello guys I recently I travelled to Taj Hotel, Chandigarh but the hotel persons were very careless as there was my meeting at 2pm and and I was already registered the room but they make me waited for more than 1 hour as time matters for everyone me to this is clear way of careless activity and the second thing when I reach my hall which I booked for conference was not empty as some other conference was going on so they provided me other hall but that was to small I talk to the manager about this because they charged me for bigger hall and now I have to work in this small hall but his reaction was not much helpful hence next day I quited from this hotel and changed so guys please check it before you book because sometimes it affects you and your company's that's all about Taj Hotel

Hello friends,

I am use Taj hotel three in two years and I am not 100% satisfies this hotel service because I face some issues.

I open a business in Chandigarh and going for office purpose and stay 3 to 5 day in every tour.

Overall this hotel is good but hotel stop or manager is not proper work so no give 100% output.

I booked this hotel 10 to 15 days before journey, basically I travel in winter or end of winter.

according to me, this hotel is good but service is not batter, this is batter for family member.

I was visited this hotel last year. It's one of the best hotel in Chandigarh. They have very large space for parking. The decoration and ambiance is best and very beautiful. Its very neat and clean place. The rooms are very neat and well developed. ''

The staff is well trained and very friendly in behavior. Room quality is best according to price. The food is very hygienic and best in quality. Gym spa and swimming pool makes the stay more enjoyable. Its the fully secure area and their security arrangement is very good if by chance you face any problem. Overall its best hotel to stay in Chandigarh.

Their cleanliness and their prepaeration of nourishment is magnificent. Must visit.They don't know how to handle grievances suitably(essentially welcoming persons is bad enough). I had already heard of stories of Taj Chandigarh serving bad food, but my nightmare became a reality when I went to a friend's marriage at Taj Chandigarh on 8th December 2015.

Even while eating the food, I was telling my wife and my friends that the food isint really good. Alas the horror became real when next day my stomach started aching and I felt pukish. My whole stomach was awry. I though it might be the cold weather that caught me, but only after having a word with my wife and my friend, I realized that they too had the same issue running in their bowels.

I immediately called a few friends of mine to confirm the same who had gone to the marriage. Lo! The same story beholds.

Imagine in the name of all the 5 Starts, what this crap Hotel Taj, Chandigarh is serving. Do they really care about the stuff they serve. Poor friends who chose Taj to get married. Tarred their image.

Fort Heritage Hotel- A Royal Treat

From The Culinary Critique

No Whiskey. Give your hepatic cells a rest. No butter chicken. Stop depositing excess adipose. Visit the only vegetarian and non-liquor heritage hotel in Chandigarh/Panchkula.

I decided to check out the food at the Fort Heritage Hotel for the benefit for the culinary connoisseurs of Chandigarh and Panchkula who are desperate for some other eating joint that is far removed from the same old Chinese food and Madrasi khana.

The ambiance is very soothing and soaked in mystery as you enter this hotel that was originally the Fort of the Chandel Dynasty. The tallest wooden door at the entrance is a sight to behold. The durban at the door, in full ceremonial finery, reminds you of the soldiers of that era. The restaurant is staffed by eager eyed waiters who welcome you with warmth. The decoration in the restaurant has all the trappings of a royal dining area. Old weapons and cups adorn the walls . The menu not only gives us all the types of dishes served but is also endeavors to educate us in the history of Chandel Maharajas.

Before placing our orders we built up our appetite by roaming around the Fort and seeing all the vintage cars, swimming pool, the Ganesh temple and the conference room. I had visited Fort with my wife and daughter. My Parents who had come all the way from Bangalore, were the guests of honor. We started by ordering Hot and Sour Veg Soup. I was happy to note that unlike the stingy serving size of other Chandigarh hotels, two soups were enough for the 5 of us. The soup was excellent and was neither too hot nor too sour. It was perfect. By the time we finished our soup the waiter arrived with one plate each of Spring Rolls and Veg Seek Kabab that was again surprisingly enough for the 5 of us. The spring rolls were non oily and the fillings were soft. The veg seek Kababs dipped in green chutley were a perfect complement. After this the main course arrived. Dear readers, allow me to recommend Makai-Kumb Subji, Panch Mel Dal and Paneer Bedmi, and I am sure you would be thankful to me for the recommendations. The food just melted in our mouths. Again, one plate of each dish with tandoori roti was enough for the entire family. Makai-Kumbh Subji seems to be the chef’s specialty because it was had the balanced amalgamation of sweet corn and mushrooms marinated in subtle spices. Panch-mel Dal was made from 5 different pulses, simmered in a brass pot for more than 12 hours to imbibe all the delicate essences into its very core, was another dish that is worth recommending.

Never knew that the humble dal could be elevated to such great culinary heights by prolonged thermal intervention. Paneer Bedmi just about passed the test. The paneer was probably mass produced, that would explain the detrimental effect on it’s texture. The sweet dish was the standard ice cream with hot chocolate sauce. The sauce was runny and could have been better. Tasted like Bournvita dissolved in hot water. Other than the sweet dish, the main course was a pleasant experience. Now for the financial implications. Very astonisning, considering the standard of the hotel. We were billed Rs800/- for a meal for 5 members. Even in a cheaper fast food restaurant, where you have to stand in a line to pay and collect your grub, I would surely have ended up spending more minus the royal ambience. Just taste Makai-Kumbh and Panch-mel Dal at Fort and it will perk you up. If not, get back to this culinary critique.

I was a trainee at taj chd and let me tell you, if you're looking for the true taj courtesy in taj chd...you're at the wrong place. Its the only branch of taj hotels ans palaces that isn't a 5 star establishment. The hygiene level is disgusting. I have personally witnessed many times how the staffers use stirrers, soup sticks many times over without even cleaning it. The ball room is tiny.

The staff is horribly underpaid and the rooms are too damn expansive for their asking tariff price. Only two restaurants, both with very limited food items and rediculas prices. Just sneak in any of the back areas ever if you really wanna find out what goews down in that hole.

Traveler and hoteliers alike, keep away from this junk.

This review is on the buffet at Taj Chandigarh... whew... will be my last choice on my list....something like "either starve or eat Taj buffet" kind of condition When Taj opened in Chandigarh, I could find so many people there... as if the entire city wanted to taste their food. This was about a year ago. That time the buffet was good (but good enough only on weekends when more crowd was expected, hence better variety of dishes)... In September 07, I happened to visit Taj to have buffet with my family.

As usual, I had the salads first.. "hmmm", I thought, "Hot Millions is a lot better than this".... as I went on, to my horror, the fish tasted so bad, and the mutton was so spicy that I could not swallow the food. Plus, the quality of meat pieces was pathetic... I immediately complained and instead of giving a convincing reply, our family was given "sweet lassi" to douse the burning feeling. However, no-one except myself wanted to have lassi at the moment.... We left the fish on the plate and complained once again.

The restaurant people tried to convince us that since there were a lot many Punjabis in the region, they had always wanted something very spicy... great!!! Did this mean the food was spicy enough to give ulcers to customers??????? I left a complaint, only to be called later and invited for a meal by Vinu Varghese and a "We care for you" email by GM, Anil Malhotra. Vinu had invited 2 people to a meal.. but I stay in Pune and am wondering when would I be able to go, and if this offer will still be available or not.... I wrote to GM (Anil Malhotra) that I am not planning to come to Chandigarh soon, and how he wished to resolve this grievance.. there has been no reply to the email since a week..... Overall, I think Taj does not care for its customers.

They do not know how to tackle grievances appropriately (simply inviting persons is not good enough).... I had personally expected Taj not to charge 2 out of the 4 members of our family, since we could not even eat our meals completely. Overall, I would like to advise readers to avoid buffet at Taj (its even worse on weekdays) and goto some good hotel like Hot Millions, one of hotels in Sector 34 or 26. They are a lot more better and value for money as well. In case someone knows the email/cell no of higher management at Taj esp in corporate office, please let me know. I will be highly grateful!
