Scene:
A family of three Father, Mom & a
kid zooms their way to Mumbai-Pune highway. Its 5:30 AM and they are
their on their kids insistence. He wanted to observe nature for to get
it down on the canvas.
The Kid looks quite sad
.wondering why can't his parents understand his love for drawing. Why
do they want him to excel only in studies? Why as it that he had to
promise them an extra hour of study for this outing?
Mom slips in the CD of Taare Zameen Par and sits back….
~Taare Zameen Par(Shankar Mahadevan, Dominique Cerejo & Vivene Pochha)
Dekho
inhein yeh oas ki boondein, patton ki god mein Aasmaan se koodein
angdayee lein phir karwat badal kar nazuk se moti hans de phisal
kar….kho na jaye ye taare Zameen par….yeh to aasha ki lehar hain, yeh
to umeed ki sehar hain, khushiyon ki nehar hain… *
Mom & Dad*
(thinking): are we putting up too much pressure on our kid for studies?
Should we let him be? Let him follow his dreams? He is just 7 year old.
They are surged with confidence…
That’s the effect of https://lyrics.
What makes the song stand apart is the fact that starting lines are
sung solo and all the paras are by the chorus which has a very
different and special echo effect. The music is simple yet effective. This one is all about nurturing your kid & his likes. (Rating 5 Stars)
~Kholo Kholo(Raman Mahadean)
Kholo-2 darwaze parde karo kinare, khuntey se bandhi hai hawa mil ke chudao saare… ….khud ko zaraa pehcaan tu….
Kiddo(to
his parents): Wow Mom what a song? It just urges us to follow our
dreams. May be you’ll understand my passion towards drawing?
Wonderful song. This one is all about following your dreams & dreaming different & new dreams Music is bare minimum, the song reaches crescendo with
“To dhoop hai jham se bikhar, tu hai nadee o bekhabar, beh chal kahin ud chal kahin. Dil khush jahan teri toh manzil wahin…where
there is full blown music. Though my knowledge about the musical
instruments is bare minimum but I think there is guitar in the
background and the effect is wonderful. Plus the prelude of guitar is
damn good. (Rating 5 Stars)
~Bum Bum bole**(Shankar Mahadevan & Amir Khan)
This
one celebrates; it has fun, joy & happiness in it. The family
freak’s out on this one. Music is in pace with the song. Keeps the
tempo high. My favourite line
Bhala machliya bhi kyun udti nahin, aise bhi socho na….khul ke sochein aao, pankh zaraa phailaao, naye khwaab bun le…
The song talks about dreaming beyond dreams & thinking beyond imagination.
The sheer joy in the voices of the kids urges us to smile & to join the celebration.
*The
youngest member of the family adjudges this as the best song of the
album, the family & they celebrate it with breakfast at a roadside
dhaba. **(Rating 4.5 Stars)
~Jame Raho(Vishal Dadlani)
Ye sote bhee hain attention, aage rehne ki hai tension….jame raho…
The
song is into two parts, one part sings like a robot bringing in focus
the kind of routine sometimes kid fall into & second part talks
about dreaming & leading a normal life.
Mom to Kid, beta this one is just for you. In fact can be your anthem to stick to your goal and to excel in your studies, what say?
KidOhhh Mom….for me this song means whatever the conventional education demands I should stick to my dreams. It has inspired me.
Sung beautifully, the music is just like anthems…get set & goooo…. (Rating 4 Stars)
~Maa.(Shankar Mahadevan)
This
is a sad one, dilemma of a kid who is being packed off to a boarding
school. He is scared to leave his parents, his home, his friends &
the protective environment.
It’s a slow song sung very well by
Shankar. Though I wonder why they have not got it sung by a kid. Music
again is bare minimum and may be that’s why it has more impact. The
lyric is touching. Sample this
Main Kabhi batlata nahin, par andhere se darta hoon main maa….bheed main yun na chodo mujhe….
The kid looks towards his mom, eyes saying, promise me, you won’t do this to me. You won’t send me out? Mom: I won’t, I promise. (Rating 4.5 Stars)
~Bheja Kum(Shankar Mahadevan & host of other singers)
This is “Main Aisa kyon hoon” kind of song. Techno & minimum music. “Kya hai problem? Kyun tera Bheja Kum? Idiot, duffer, lazy, crazy….kya hai tera problem”
To
understand this song the best listen it on a headphone. SEL has
excelled in this. The basic premises of this song is that these are the
thoughts going on in a kid's brain. As if everyone is crowding on
him.to many questions, accusations at the same time.
Kid(accusingly to parents):you
also think the same way for me na? I wonder when my efforts will make
you happy….I wonder whether you’ll allow me to follow my dreams.
Parents:
beta, we know we have been putting pressure on you to study but that’s
for your good. But we also understand your dreams and trust me from now
on we would never stop you from following them. (Rating 4 Stars)
~Mera Jahan **(Adnan Sami & kids – Music By Shailendra Barve)
This song has a combination of Kids choir who sing in English & then Adnan Sami chips in with the
Hindi translation. The music & lyrics both are excellent. This one is a typical Adnan Sami song.
Udne ko Sau pankh diye hai, chadne ko khula Aasmaan, mudne ko hai karwat karwat, aur badhne
ko mera jahan….All I need, All I need is to be free…
This one talks about breaking free from the conventional. Lyrics win here hands down. *
Parents**:
Wow! What a song, it’s about the celebration of childhood. When they
are just kids it’s on us to show him the direction & options and
ultimately it should be their choice to choose his path. We surely
would let our kid do what he really wants to. If its drawing then be it…**at least he will be
chasing his dreams….
Kid: **Wow Mom & dad, I promise you that whatever I do I would give in my 100% and beyond that.(Rating 5 Stars)
Music
for me is a very personal thing. What I may like might not be liked by
somebody else. But I can gurantee yo that you'll like the allbum if
You like simple music.
You like Beautiful & meaningful lyrics
You like Shankar Ehsaan Brand of music(I usually pick up all their music)
Can live with out dhoom dhadaka & Dard-E Disco
You had liked the music of Lakshya, Dil Chahta Hai & Rang De Basanti
If I have to decsribe the album in one line it would be
Trendy, simple & for all age groups.
Lyrics by Prasoon Joshi stands out for its sheer simplicity & deep meaning.
As far as I know the movie is about realizing
that each kid is special. Their likes, dislikes or area interests might
be different. But at the end of the day its all about letting the kid
grow in a normal environment with minimum pressure. And this exactly what the songs shell out.
