This place is okay for casual dining once, but they can perhaps do better.

They have kebab options in starters, ranging from Fish, Chicken, Veg, Mutton or Prawn starters. Navratam Korma or Dal Makhani score as veg main courses. Then they have continental options like soups, sandwiches, pasta, fish'n chips and chicken steak, but maybe taste wise the dishes can be a bit more better. They have decent Chinese options in the menu. Veg, Chicken, Lamb, Fish main course items are good. The noodles and fried rice offering are not bad too.

Service can be a bit faster and since bar is available the crowd is not that great. Place is a bit dark, hope the management decide to make it more bright. That will perhaps attract more family crowd.

Szafran is bar restaurant located at kalikapur near Avishar Shopping Mall.A moderate and simple looking restaurant that serves really good Indian, Chinese and North Indian food along with a bar menu consisting of Indian and English brands.

To begin with I have been visiting this place for over 5 years now ever since the restaurant was established.Since it is located near my maternal uncle's locality it becomes convenient for me to go here rather than going any where else for food and some good drinks.

Over all  not much cab be said about the decor or the ambiance, simple yet neat and clean if I can put it in a couple of words.The tables are always neat and decorated for the guests and clients, the staff is always polite and helpful and would always make sure that we get our orders on time.

Yes the place has AC but the only drawback is feel is that at times the split AC does not work properly.Speaking about the food the quantity of Chinese cuisine including Chicken egg chow, fried rice, American chopsuey, gravy chow is quite good.

One cannot complain about the quantity or the quality as per side is good enough for 2.My favorite items would be Dry chilli chicken, chicken wantons, garlic chicken, garlic chilli fish, gravy egg chicken chow, pan fried shehzwaan fried rice and amongst the Indian section of the menu my favorite is chicken butter masala, chicken kassa, chicken rezala, mutoon kassa, mutton korma and the butter naan.The bar menu as I had mentioned is quite reasonable, 60 ml for a peg of BP is 120 and yes they do serve few brands of English Scotch.If you do not consume alcohol and just enjoy their food then the pocket pinch for 2 would be Rs.600-800.
