Sunny Shady Life, A - Sachinn Garg Reviews

Worst ever..
Dec 21, 2010 09:24 PM2900 Views

Now while you read this review..plz try not to think that am biased..you are too free to have your own point of view..but this book was the most horrible read till date for me..and I do understand, what a mature plot means..now lets see..the novel does begin with an interesting note..the author describes how he changed from a happy-go-lucky kinda guy to a mature one..just that the big ideas of the author got caught with his limited writing skills..We start from his entry in DCE..the plot is so random..I cant even term it as "non-linear"..its feels as if he is writing whatever discreet ideas are coming in his mind..sample this..he discovered his newly, improved, intellectual self after getting kicked out of a brothel in paris..

Not many great transformations occur that way.."no-nonsense" type writing? take another example..in chetan bhagat's 5 point someone, that bed scene was hot, funny and it did maintain the dignity..and here the author takes the pain even to describe the color of some parts..one word:Cheap..how the protagonist became a writer..its another most horribly written part..there's no pain..no description..and too much essence of bollywood, when the girl, who was already a published writer, saw that guy emerging with his own book..the Paris plot is yet something I couldn't figure out why the hell the author has cam up with..and the happy ending..the hero and the heroine makes love early morning in the delhi metro station..

Do pardon me friends..I wish I could've written something good abt this book..but truly..I will consider reading it as the most horrible mistake of my life, until I find something worse..

A Sunny Shady Life ( Sachinn Garg)

A Sunny Shady Life.! is the first novel of Sachinn Garg even though it might not seem to be the first work of a young man. The book avoids stereotypes and comes up with very original thoughts and ideas which would impress most readers.

The book goes back and forth in time zones and confuses in places but ends on a very high note. The author has achieved a brilliant feat by achieving successfully to make an impression on the readers.

I was truly impressed by the way the young author has shared some funde of life which leave a very deep impression.

Even though the book starts on the campus of Delhi College of Engineering with the love story of Sunny and Vartika, the second half is based in Paris and includes a beautiful description of the city of lights.

Sachinn Garg has broken many stereotypes in the Indian Campus novel genre and done many things which were not done before.

For startes, the book has no funny coincidences and no kiddish turn arounds. In fact, it tells a mature story which would stimulate the reader to the most.

I loved the book and would recommend anybody who is looking for a refreshing read.

And its cheap too for Rs 100 only.
