Bad maintenance :(
Jun 08, 2015 02:43 PM4445 Views

I stayed in this Hotel for a day and night on the 21st feb. The hotel is located close to the bus stand. The staff at the check in were courteous. The ambience was below average. The room was just ok, some of the rooms were being renovated.

There was always a musty smell emanating in the room as well as in the corridor. The AC was not working at all and the windows could not be kept open for fear of mosquitoes. The bathroom was quite dirty, the faucet was very stained and old, the flush had to be pressed very hard to make it work, no soap/ shampoo/ towel in the room.

Quite a irritating experience. Breakfast was very comical, they said dosa will take 20 min to be served, so I went in for the continental b'fast and that wasn't clearly described in the menu card. They don't have the concept of buffet b'fast. And breakfast for them starts very late.

Overall, it was very badly maintained and highly disappointed with their service. As the name suggests very Bad maintenance.

Thumbs Down.

Worst restraunt ever

We had a very bad experience here. a very dirty place it was with 100s of flies all over the tables. The worst thing happened when two flies fell in our plate and we asked them to change the plates and what they did was "plainly refused".

Instead they said we can at the most give you a new daal(in which the flies were fallen) and they refused to change the complete plate. We thought to better leave the restraunt and all the money got wasted as its a prepaid service there

A very bad service and attitude of people.

Terrible! Give it miss to extend possible

Once you enter the Siddhartha Restaurant; you will like it in first instance due to old wooden interior(But I guess we are NOT there to eat it).  2 stars only to ambience since you have to stand on the head of people who are eating to get that seat and also same will happen with you)

also the restaurant is quite full(this is due to the fact that there is no good restaurant with that price range in that area hence lot of locals and also visitors to palace are dropped by auto here).

Now you sit there and wait for a waiter to come.

The waiter will come to you with the face expressions that you made an mistake by coming to this restaurant and given him wish then he will throw everyone out(this was same expressions on 3 diff waiters on three diff tables/area.

second, I ordered 3 masala dosa and 1 set dosa with clear instruction to bring extra chutney(Bombay experience). As expected the extra chutney never came even after reminder.

The masala dosa was ok but still you can get a better dosa in Bombay on street itself.

The set dosa was pathetic to the core and even if I make set dosa without knowing anything, it would turn better than it. Not tasted idlis cause they are always safe bet cause they were already finished.

Hence if you have a slight choice or possibility of another hotel then give a total miss to Siddharth hotel/restaurant. If you dont have a choice and have to eat in that to be alive then stick to Idli or maximum Dosa. Never order Set dosa else you are responsible for it after warning.

moreover Siddhartha Restaurant is jam packed for lunch. The cost is quite moderate @ 60 only and I guess that was the reason for such huge rush. With less price, there are strings attached. the a/c section had 30 min waiting time and in non-ac section is your responsibility to get a seat. For this to happen, you will stand on the head on a family table and keep looking on them eating(wow, what an idea). the best part is once you are lucky to get a seat, you will be treated same way by others who will be keep looking to your eating that when you will finish. After seeing this, it was quite unbearable for me and I simply came out of the hotel.

This hotel needs new management or else I wish that it dies for better to make way for something else. I have no sympathy for people still eating in Siddhartha Restaurant being treated as dogs by the restaurant.

Good south indian snacks and....

Hotel Siddhartha is very popular place in Mysore. It is located near the central bus stand and is close from the railway station.

The restaurant is on the ground floor. The interiors are well made with wooden items and looks spacious. I think it is also non-a/c. Well who needs a/c in place like Mysore.

The restaurant is very clean and neat. The service is fairly good. The manu boasts a good variety of idlis, dosas & uttappas.

I was rather surprised to see vegetable sizzlers in the menu card & I ordered for it. When the sizzler was served with the usual 'sizzle' sound, all the local people in the restaurant turned their heads to see what was going on. Sizzler was not very popular (I guess) here.

The snacks items were very fresh and steaming hot. The filter coffee was too good.

Pricing is very reasonable. This is worth trying when in Mysore.
