Once you enter the Siddhartha Restaurant; you will like it in first instance due to old wooden interior(But I guess we are NOT there to eat it). 2 stars only to ambience since you have to stand on the head of people who are eating to get that seat and also same will happen with you)
also the restaurant is quite full(this is due to the fact that there is no good restaurant with that price range in that area hence lot of locals and also visitors to palace are dropped by auto here).
Now you sit there and wait for a waiter to come.
The waiter will come to you with the face expressions that you made an mistake by coming to this restaurant and given him wish then he will throw everyone out(this was same expressions on 3 diff waiters on three diff tables/area.
second, I ordered 3 masala dosa and 1 set dosa with clear instruction to bring extra chutney(Bombay experience). As expected the extra chutney never came even after reminder.
The masala dosa was ok but still you can get a better dosa in Bombay on street itself.
The set dosa was pathetic to the core and even if I make set dosa without knowing anything, it would turn better than it. Not tasted idlis cause they are always safe bet cause they were already finished.
Hence if you have a slight choice or possibility of another hotel then give a total miss to Siddharth hotel/restaurant. If you dont have a choice and have to eat in that to be alive then stick to Idli or maximum Dosa. Never order Set dosa else you are responsible for it after warning.
moreover Siddhartha Restaurant is jam packed for lunch. The cost is quite moderate @ 60 only and I guess that was the reason for such huge rush. With less price, there are strings attached. the a/c section had 30 min waiting time and in non-ac section is your responsibility to get a seat. For this to happen, you will stand on the head on a family table and keep looking on them eating(wow, what an idea). the best part is once you are lucky to get a seat, you will be treated same way by others who will be keep looking to your eating that when you will finish. After seeing this, it was quite unbearable for me and I simply came out of the hotel.
This hotel needs new management or else I wish that it dies for better to make way for something else. I have no sympathy for people still eating in Siddhartha Restaurant being treated as dogs by the restaurant.

- Thank You! We appreciate your effort.
