Sevagram Ashram, Wardha

Wardha is located some km away from nagpur.I have visited there twise.my relatives were admitted to kasturba gandhi hospital.so we went to the sevagram ashram as well from there to have lunch. The place was so beautiful.it is also known as bapu ki kuti.all the kutis( huts) present there were made so beautifully.the surrounding is so clean with trees all around. There are even the things which bapu had used.like there clothes, tables, etc.bapu stayed there for 3years along with his wife. There are even the shops were you can get khadi clothes, and eatables.there is even a guest house for the people who want to stay.in cheap price.

Wardha is a small town in Maharashtra which is a decent place to live in. I stay in Wardha from last 8 years. There are a few tourist spots in Wardha which add to the beauty of this town. One of those is Mahatma Gandhi Ashram, which is also famously known as Bapu Kuti.

History- This was the place where Gandhiji stayed for 3 years with his wife and his disciples during India's struggle for Independence. Gandhiji came to Wardha with Shri. Jamnalal Bajaj who helped bapu to setup his Ashram for stay and organising his meetings during Satyagraha. Specialities-

1. The Ashram is well designed and fabricated by traditional construction materials which adds to its beauty.

   
   




2. The ashram consist of various kutis ( huts) like bapu kuti( where bapu stayed) , ba kuti( bapu's wife residence) , bapu's office, his prayer chamber where he use to meditate, etc

   
   




3. All the articles of Gandhiji's use are still preserved which include a trunk dialer telephone, bapu's spectacles, his khadi clothes and a lot more.

   
   




4. It is the most peaceful place with a beautiful green surrounding around it.

   
   




5. The ashram has got a guest house where the tourist can find proper accommodation at low prices.
