Savoury Sea Shell, Anna Nagar East, Chennai Reviews

Great taste
Nov 23, 2018 11:23 AM 2046 Views

Good and tasty food. Comfortable place for a family dinner with nice seating. great halal food. Pasta is my favorite in this restaurant.

The barbecue and grill are the signature dishes in sea shell. One can find a variety of mouth watering deserts and mock tail. The ambiance is pleasant with friendly staff. It is really crowded on weekends and Friday evenings even if you go in late night. They also have party halls which can be booked in advance. they also provide buffet lunch and dinner.

Sea Shell located at Anna Nagar East opposite to Anna Nagar Tower.

Food and Presentation; food quality is good and presentation wise they are world class.

Ambience of the the restaurant is good and well maintained.

Customer Service was awesome when we visit with family and friends, Workers are very smiling face and good service.

Value for money as they give very high quality food to the customers and this is really value for money at their level.

Barbique varieties are very famous in this restaurant.

Barbeque and haleem at its best in chennai..

Barbeque is one of the best in sea shell. The main dish in month of ramzan we get to eat delicious hyderabadi haleem.

Getting haleem in chennai isdifficult. I have eaten haleem infew different places in chennai but it doesn't match exact taste what we get in hyderabad.

Sea shell in bang ON . It tastes as similar as pista house haleem in hyderabad.

But cost is a bit higher side. I think ordinary people cant afford it or cant eat regularly.

Barbeque. And haleem are two best dishes of sea shell.

I actually like arabian food thats why opt for seashell or zaitoon but I actually like seashell for taste even though the cowt is in higher side.

But the taste which is in greams road is much better than annanagar I dono why it is like that but gream road has its own unique taste hope they standersize the same in every branch, the interior is good and very spacious compared to other branch that a plus point here.

It's just An Ordinary Place.

Hello,

This is a truly hot spot, I mean genuinely however it is additionally known for filling your stomach at a shoestring spending plan. Individuals here eat like insane and the style in which they do is curiously Tamilian.

Subsequent to arriving in Chennai at my companion's place we concluded that we should go for a smorgasbord to fill our tummies, he had not went by this spot himself, but rather we chose to take a risk at any rate.

The eatery looked extremely occupied toward the evening with a ton of group throbbing, and there wasn't enough space around to stop our auto, the spot was really celebrated for auto burglaries. The feel was alright, not so preposterous.

The smorgasbord is the USP of this Restaurant, the spread is not so immeasurable but rather has a tad bit of each kind of dishes from North Indian, Chinese to ocean bottom. They have a limitless choice of rice assortments from biryanis to sadams.

The mughlai starters were not on a par with the ones I have had in Mumbai or Bangalore, it was a bit excessively fiery for my taste, the Naan was great however the curry that went with it was more smoking than anticipated, the kind which might make you cry in the wake of eating. Same for the egg masala and the fish delicacies(which was again somewhat salty).

The Kerala style chicken curry was the main agreeable dish. The deserts likewise were disillusioning, we must be content with the desserts. By and large an extremely normal taste for the around 650(with assessments). Stomach felt full, however it was not justified, despite any potential benefits.

Ordinary at best

Chennai is a really hot place, I mean seriously but it is also known for filling your stomach at a shoestring budget. People here eat like crazy and the style in which they do is peculiarly Tamilian. After landing in Chennai at my friend's place we decided that we will need to go for a buffet to fill our tummies, he had not visited this place himself, but we decided to take a chance anyway.

The restaurant looked very busy in the afternoon with a lot of crowd throbbing, and there wasnt enough space around to park our car, the place was pretty famous for car thefts. The ambiance was ok, not so over the top.

The buffet is the USP of this Restaurant, the spread is not so vast but has a little of every type of dishes from North Indian, Chinese to sea food. They have a vast selection of rice varieties from biryanis to sadams. The mughlai starters were not as good as the ones I have had in Mumbai or Bangalore, it was a bit too spicy for my taste, the Naan was good but the curry that accompanied it was hotter than expected, the kind which may make you cry after eating. Same for the egg msala and the fish delicacies(which was again a bit salty). The Kerala style chicken curry was the only likable dish.

The deserts also were disappointing, we had to be content with the ice creams. Overall a very average taste for the around 650(with taxes). Stomach felt full, but it was not worth it.

Shawarma Time

Nice place for a friend or family get together over an average budget. Not a fine dining experience but apart from the busy waiter and dry Biryani they won't disappoint you in any other ways.

I have had a lot dishes of their menu of which Shawarma is nice, Biryani is dry and tasteless or may be it's just my luck that I get such kind id Biryani. Fish platter was nice. Some fried dishes(e.g fish fingers) are served fully floating in oil and you can literally see more oil then the food.

Ok ambiance, but they should have done a little extra on it. We had to wait most of the times to be seated as the place was jam packed and I guess the crowd is the reason for the delayed service and some dishes that were kind of tasteless.

Overall, its worth giving a shot.

I happened to organize my cousin's reception party in the banquet hall. So, this will be more inclined towards the buffet served. We kept the menu short and focused mainly on Quantity and not compromising over the quality. Two types of juices, mutton biryani, tandoori chicken, chicken gravy, Naan and paneer butter masala. The biryani was cooked well but tasted bad. The tandoori was really good. Everything else tasted fine. The feast ended with angoor jamun, falooda and sweet beda.

I loved the food and so did they. Also, the service was pretty good. We hardly ever had to call them twice for anything. There's always a great feeling if you find them all so attentive to your group's needs all the time. And this is what they did so flawlessly.

Will always love to be back here for any occasion, be it any time and with anyone.

Arabian food lovers, go for it

This restaurant has been my dig out every weekend since I came to chennai. Every weekend me with a group of friends dig out here and the ambience is pretty good. The one thing that we will fid on a weekend is the waiting for atleast 15 mins cos of the crowd. They have good collection of soups and hot&sour and sweet corn being my favs. The first best thing is their grilled chicken and barbeque chicken and the grilled fish is also very nice but sometimes the fish can be costly. Their shawarmas are also good enough with a good seasoning and flavouring. The main course has arabian, continental, indian and chinese dishes but for me the grills and shawarmas are filling enough( I heard my friends saying that the mutton biriyani is good enough).

Personally I feel their lamb and mutton dishes are not upto the mark with kind of hard consistency and less marinated meat. They have a great collection of desserts like falooda, kulfi, omani etc but the stand out remains the sizzling brownie which is truly heavenly.

Finally the cost can be said moderate but the desserts seem to be a little expensive. Its definitely a good try out
