Sariska National Park Reviews

Nice place to visit on a weekend
Dec 13, 2018 03:32 PM3549 Views

We started our journey from Delhi on Friday evening. We stayed at Bikamp Aravallis Resort, 35 km away from the Sariska. We spent Saturday to explore Sariska National Park. We were lucky enough to see the tiger & some amazing bird and animal Species. On Sunday we took a guided tour to Village near the resort and tried some hiking. Overall it was a nice experience.

Sariska - Tiger Reserve Re-located
Jan 17, 2018 12:43 PM5220 Views

I like to travel and share the experiences of the trip to each and everyone. So, that they don't face the problems that I did or if something which was not done correctly by me can be corrected by the other people going to the same place.

Here we go with my recent trip to Sariska National park.

Sariska National Park is located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan which is around 200kms from the capital of India Delhi.

Sariska has good connectivity by road from Delhi and can be reached in around 4 to 5 hours.

We started in the morning time and reached Alwar around 11am in the morning. Its always a good option to stay at a hotel In Alwar as you will not find anything to stay near Sariska National park. From Alwar City the distance of Sariska is around 30kms. which will take you around an hour to reach Sariska from Alwar City.

Once you are at the main entrance of the Sariska National Park, you are left with two options. One is to leave your car there itself and hire a gypsy to take you for the tour of the Sariska National Park, the other option is you can even drive your own vehicle inside Sariska but this is allowed only o Tuesdays and Saturdays.

During the ride, you will have a lot things to experience from the wildlife to the plants, the Aravalli range running on your side and a variety of plants and birds that flew in the season.

Rest spotting a tiger is all your luck.

Travelling inside the Sariska can be hectic if you visit during the summer season because of the harsh sunlight, hot and humid climate in Alwar. So, make sure you visit here during the Winter season to have a good travelling experience.

TIPS:

Please make sure if you get your own car inside Sariska, you drive carefully as there can be animals coming on the road path anytime and can get hurt.

Also, there are strict rules not to get down of your vehicle inside the Sariska National Park. If you get down and you are spotted, be ready to pay a Challan to the forest officers appointed in the Sariska national park.

A good place to visit in the winter season to explore the forest with good travel experience.!

Make sure you book yourself a good hotel in Alwar before going to Sariska as there are not much good hotels in the region.

Its a National park. Here Animals are not kept in cages and hence they are the owner of their own will and it all depends on their mood or climate whether they come out of their den or not. One should not assume that every 10 mins you will see a Animal here as it is not possible to cover more area in one day. Still if you want to better your chances to see an animal then best thing you can do is to stick to some water resource. Here many types of animal like tiger, deer, cat etc.this place is too much pleasant. The climate and greenery here is awesome, the wind is utterly fresh and this will burst out your stress and you will feel very relaxed. This is really a nice place and one of the best safari destination in India. The place is easily accessible by Rail and Road.must be visit sariska to enjoy.

Search for Tigers
Mar 31, 2017 10:59 AM7703 Views (via Android App)

Last year I with my 12 family members visited Alwar. There we visited SARISKA NATIONAL PARK. I was very excited and was in hope to see tigers for the first time. Our own vehicle was not allowed so we hired a bus for the ride and it cost around 10000.

As soon as the exciting trip started we also started seeing a lot of wildlife including 'sambar', wild pig, deers, 'langoors', . We also saw a deer hunted by a leopard but unfortunately we didn't saw leopard or tigers while going.

While coming back we were eagerly waiting to see a tiger, only for which we spend those big bucks. But this search remained a search only and we came back empty handed. We didn't paid ten thousand for wild pig and deers.

Though the trail for tigers didn't completed we still enjoyed. Going there I got a feel of connection between humans and wildlife. It was a learning experience for me.

But I recommend to go Ranthambhore instead of Sariska. Density of tigers is much more there. The trip was not worth of.

HELLO ALL, my name is laxmi chand  many people suggest us for visit sariska national park so I decided to visit sariska national park. we visited last thursday dt. 1.02.2016 in evening time.Sariska Tiger Reserve is located in Alwar District of Rajasthan in lap of Aravali hills. Sariska Tiger Reserve or Sariska National Park was a hunting reserve area for Alwar state. It got a status of wildlife reserve in year 1955 and in year 1978 it became Sariska Tiger Reserve. The Wild life 0f Sariska Park includes Royal Bengal Tiger, Chital, Sambhar, Blue Bull, Chinkara. The best time to spot wildlife is November to March, and you’ll see most wildlife in the evening. The park is closed to safaris from 1 July to 30 September. Your chances of spotting wildlife at this time is minimal, in any case, and the park is only open for temple pilgrimage.

Private car access, as opposed to the gypsy and canter safari vehicles, is only allowed on Tuesday and Saturday to visit the Hanuman Temple. Tickets and vehicle bookings may also be made online.

If you are planning a trip with friends and family, do explore this place called Sariska National Park in Alwar, Rajasthan. I found out about this place while searching in google. Its a beautiful place far away from the city crowds. Open jeep and Safari ride is available for 3-4 hours where it would cover the entire park.

Located amidst calm and serene nature, it is inhabited by animals like deers, crocodiles, leopards, tigers, bear, monkeys, langurs, wild boars, nilgay etc. and wonderful birds like peacocks, peahens, etc You may not spot all of them but still you will enjoy roaming around. There is also an old temple in the middle of the park.

I witnessed this place along with my friends and it was really wonderful and moving experience for all of us. It rejuvenated us with new energy and positivity and made it an forgettable memory.

Only deers
Apr 13, 2016 03:45 PM9439 Views

And I have visited sariska nation park twice in search of lions. but both the times I saw only deers, peacocks and monkeys. Firstly I visited in june 2013 and second time was in nov 2014 as some people guide me that it is the best time to check the lions.

Quality of attraction:

Me and my friend checked their website and decided to visit as we are living in gurgaon and place in near to us. bad thing is they allowed the personal vehicles in nation park, which causes a traffic and also causes lot of noise. due to that any animal won't to come near road or any water source. they have installed many stones about lions, panthers, hynas etc but they have only deer and monkeys which is a huge disappointment to us. on my second visit one of the guide told me that they have only 4 tigers and they live in deep jungle and they hardly seen once in month.

Transport link:

You can visit there on public transport or buses but I will recommend private vehicle so that you will not face the problem of time.

In overall my opinion is that they should arrange some more lion and tigers and also plan a jungle safari for deep jungle so that tourist at least see what they want or convert this in a deer park.

Everything here is just awesome

I do agree with most of the early reviews that one will not find as much animal as we see in a Zoo but that's the thing makes it a National park. Here Animals are not kept in cages and hence they are the owner of their own will and it all depends on their mood or climate whether they come out of their den or not.

One should not assume that every 10 mins you will see a Animal here as it is not possible to cover 800 Kms of area in one day. Still if you want to better your chances to see an animal then best thing you can do is to stick to some water resource.

The climate and greenery here is awesome, the wind is utterly fresh and this will burst out your stress and you will feel very relaxed. This is really a nice place and one of the best safari destination in India. The place is easily accessible by Rail and Road. Nearest Rail Station is Alwar and nearest Bus station is also Alwar. The nearest Airport is Gurgaon as well as Jaipur. This is one of the best place to visit in Rajasthan.

Read this review before going to Sariska.

I visited Sariska as a part of team outing on 8th March, 2014.

We started from Gurgaon around 7:30 in our tampo traveler and reached Sariska around 1 pm. (took some time even on Saturday due to heavy jams) We booked our safari online.

We paid rest of the amount at reception. One important observation is the toilet at the reception was the most pathetic one I have been to in my life.

We complaint to the couple of official but they paid no heed. We booked two gypsies for a group of 12 people. It was Saturday so they told that personal vehicles are also allowed into the park to visit Hanuman Mandir. (on Saturday and Tuesday)

Once we started out journey into the park at 2 pm the air was fresh but nothing else was there apart from fresh air. We saw some deer and peacocks but nothing else was there. The guide seating in front of gypsy told us that recently they have borrowed 7 lions from Ranthambhore and so they have 7 tigers (2 male 5 female) in an area of 800 sq kms. So the probability of seeing a lion is even lesser that seeing GOD!.

We kept moving in the park in search of TIGER but nothing was there. We searched even for a hyena or a leopard but no luck. We keep moving the park for 3 hours but spotted very few animals. Also whenever the driver wanted to smoke or eat tobacco he would stop the vehicle and step down for look for a tiger which was hilarious.

Overall it was a very unpleasant experience for us and I bet that you can see more animals in chabir zoo rather than in Sariska. They are looting innocent tourists and nothing is there to look for.

I will never visit this place again.

For All Nature Lovers

SARISKA NATIONAL PARK Sariska National Park, a forest located near Alwar in Rajasthan is a must watch for all nature lovers. There are 2 ways of reaching Sariska from Delhi: Delhi - Gurgaon - Sohna - Nuh - Firzpur Zirak - Alwar - Sariska(190 kms) & Delhi - Gurgaon - Dharuhera - Behror - Shahpura - Thana Ghazi - Sariska(240 kms). I would recommend you the second route as this one is Delhi - Jaipur Highway and the roads are also very well mantained and broad here unlike the first one. Sariska I guess is the only forest where even your private vehicle is allowed inside the Core Area, everywhere else you have to hire the forest ranger's jeep.

Sariska can be visited anytime of the year exept 3 months ie. from July 1 to September 30, as all the forest are usually closed in rainy season. The park also has another attraction, which very few people know about or have noticed. Around 6 km from Kalighati, when heading into the park, the road gives an impression of sloping down ahead of you. If you shift your vehicle into neutral gear and let it roll, it soon comes to a halt and then starts rolling back in the direction it came from.

What appears to be an uphill incline! Try it out, it's good fun but don't let it shift your focus from the surrounding wildlife for too long, bcoz dont forget that you are in the forest and not any garden. Some places of interest in the forest are Kalighati, Pandupul(Hanuman Mandir), Neelkanth(Shiv Mandir), Siliser Lake(hope I have spelled it correctly), Mansorovar Lake and Kanakwari Fort located on the top of hill. A ruined village located on the outskirts of Sariska known as Bhangarh is a must watch place. And none the less the scenic beauty which will follow you from starting till the end of forest. The entry ticket to Core Area is Rs.25/person and Rs.125/vehicle. But if you want to hire a Gypsy or Jeep, it would cost you Rs.800 for the entire Core Area(excluding Kanakwari Fort & Neelkanth Mandir). And if you want to visit Kanakwari Fort also then the price would be Rs.1700 and if you include Neelkanth mandir also then the price would be Rs.2500. But I would like suggest you guys that if your budget is not a big problem then most definately go for a gypsy tour, because what your guide can show you, you can never explore the forest yourself no matter how many times you have visited the forest. And who knows if you are lucky then you could spot a Leopard from a distance of just 20 or 30 Feet(like we did). One good news is that 2 Tigers have been rehabilitated from Rathambore Forest to Sariska in February. The rules of the forest also say that entry and exit have to be made in the forest after sunrise and before sunset respectively.
