Pathetic experience
Jan 31, 2024 04:26 PM238 Views (via Mobile)

Had gone with my mother for glucoma test and was given an appointment for 9 am for dr Meena Gopinathan. first they asked to pay 5600 for tests and after payment I was informed that’s there is wait time of 2 hours for the test (this could have been told before the payment ). After two hours tests were done and dilation was given very good finally at 2.15 pm was there to meet the doctor Meena Gopinathan and now i was told one more test is required, I was super mad at this point as they could have told this before as the payment was already taken and no one tells the status and what needs to be done. After waiting for another 30 mins this test was done I came back to meet dr Meena Gopinathan and now she had gone for lunch and I was told if I can meet another doctor ((original appointment was with dr Meena) I was like ok do what ever you want please let me go now. Finally at 3.30 pm after 6 hours I left the hospital.

End of the day I was wondering what’s the meaning of an appointment at 9 am when you unable no timelines and you don’t even know whether you will meet the same doctor

My advice

Before payment ask the waiting time

Glaucoma test at this hospital is bad idea

Worst eye hospital

Worst hospital not for doctors but for the appointment mangement and retina floor manager and sisters in retina department.

I had visited this hospital today for patient I'd 634645. Appointment with doctor Rajesh was at 9.30 am for second review after a eye surgery. Unnecessary they make u wait without any reason , finally when I visited doctor it was 1.30 after so many complaints with floor manager and unit head. The sister who is with doctor Rajesh cabin is too much rude she does not answer your queries properly, I think she has some problem with North Indian people. They give priority to local people , don't prioritise surgery patient , senior citizens.

All in all, the experience at the hospital was utterly disappointing & frustrating. I had to endure a long wait time and the staff did not follow proper protocols. The excessive wait time is simply unacceptable. As a medical Institution, the hospital should value their patient’s time & make every effort to minimize wait times. Additionally, by not following protocols, the hospital staff showed a lack of concern for the patients.

Allowing late visitors to get treated ahead of first comers is not only disrespectful, but also shows a careless attitude towards others. As a patient, I have the right to expect a fair & timely treatment. By allowing late visitors to cut in line, the hospital staff failed to fulfill their duty.Overall, such experience at the well reputed Sankara Eye Hospital is concering & I hope the hospital takes this feedback seriously and makes improvement to their operations to ensure that all patients receive the proper care & attention they deserve

Queue management system is worse and rude staff

Queue management system is worse and on top of that rude staff and junior doctors if you question about your turn. They are not bothered about the patients and worst system for senior citizens. Only regrets after paying at counter. Must avoid this eye hospital.

Callous Attitude of the hospital staff
Nov 01, 2018 04:05 PM2608 Views

Horrible experience. I had been to the hospital with my son on the 23rd of October 2018, we took an appointment, our files were made and we were sent to lounge B to wait for the optometry dept(room no: 11) to call us. We were not called as per the sequence and three or four token numbers after ours was called. When we enquired we were told that our file is not there with them, we went to the registration counter, they asked us to wait at lounge B as our files were there. We waited but were not called, on enquiring again, the lady at the registration counter came with me to the optometry and then realised the file was actually missing, A new file was made for the two of us. There seemed to be a lot of confusion as the tests were taken. I brought this to the notice of one of the senior staff there, who just smiled and I overheard her speaking to another colleague that he needs to teach his juniors how to do their work. After some tests, we were then asked to come on the 30th of October for further investigations and tests.

On the 30th, my son had to go for the optometry tests again, his name was called and he went for a test and then the eye pressure test. For the first test, he realised his reading were being written in a green file, but after the eye pressure test the readings were entered into a red file, he first thought they have changed the file, but then in a minute or so, he was called for the eye pressure test again, he said his test was done and the value 12/12 was written in the file, but they said no your readings are not written in the file(green), that is when my son realised his readings were recorded in somebody else's file, he told the optometrists about this goof up but they said "No problem". He then went for the next test(where distance reading test was done). He complained there about the goof up but their answer was "Its Ok ma". Can you imagine this callous attitude from a hospital staff. Its scary to realise that somebody was medically being treated with my son's eye pressure reading, and on being told about it they say "Its ok ma". My son kept insisting, then this lady called someone, spoke to him in Kannada and they laughed about this issue.

Later my son was sent for a eye scan and we were told to wait as the scan report and file would be sent to the cornea specialist. We waited for some time, can you believe it that when we enquired they said the file has not come and as it happened on 23rd this time the sister tells us that his file was misplaced. My son raised his voice about how a file can get misplaced between the scan dept and the doctor's room. We were called in by the doctor after some time, we have no clue if our file was located or not.

Wish the hospital administration looks into this method of working in their hospital, you are playing with the lives of so many people

Horrible experience at sankara eye hospital

Horrible experience. No process. You will waste multiple weeks just to get your eye checkup done. They have no consideration of people’s time. Just because its a well known hospital they harass patients. They should have proper expectation setting and shouldn’t take more patients on a day that they can handle. They don’t have enough staff. Just one doctor for 100 patients. Ridiculous how such a specialty hospital runs like this. If you are very bored in life and have nothing else to do. you can go to Shankar netralay and kill your time.

They made us wait for 5 hours. it shows online that on sundays 9am to 1 pm. we went at 11:30 and they sent us back asking to come again next Sunday. We came again next Sunday at 9:25 am as per their suggestion. They made us wait for initial screening and checkup and that got done in 30 minutes. Then they asked us to wait for next process. After waiting for one hour the doctor told that dilation process cannot be done and asked to come the following week. We got very annoyed and requested them to complete our process explaining them our last weeks run. they gave us drops and made us wait for another 2 hours while they kept seeing patients who were much later in the queue. And after that told that the doctor who checks the power has left for the day and asked to come again next week. they have absolutely no process and management. They just know how to harass people and wastes their time while their highly inefficient staff try to get the process as slow as possible. They shouldn't even have a license to run. Never go to this hospital.

Horrible Experience- Disaster awaits for patients.

I had my mom operated by Dr Mahesh after referred by his wife, a consultant at Manipal hospital. After surgery she complained of vision loss and had never recovered even after 6 months of surgery. When inquired they conveniently shifted blame on the previous hospital where she got treated. They have no proper answers for any of our concerns. They were not ready to share case reports and their Dr's are not available or busy even in case of emergency.Regarding attitude of Dr's & staff, they behave as they are doing a favor even after charging hefty amounts as fees. One feels govt hospitals are better.Motive is making money in disguise of social service.
