Sanjay Dutt Reviews

Khalnayak OR Munna???
Dec 20, 2007 09:47 PM 9192 Views

For a star son like Sanjay Dutt career starts right on the day when he is born to parents like – Sunil Dutt and Nargis. The Dutt family in the early 80’s was amongst the most famous Indian families. Dutt couple ruled the cinema screen and was taking their first steps into politics and social welfare. Sanjay started acting at a young age with his first film being Rocky. The only adjectives that can be used for Sanjay Dutt in Rocky would be lean, thin, petite and nothing to match being a “hero”. It was soon disclosed that he was doing drugs and then started his trial for life. There seems to be no looking back for the actor and crime walking hand in hand. Toiling for over a decade to break the image of being a drug addict, junior Dutt landed himself into the next maze of being involved in the 1993 Bombay Blasts.

From being a star to being called a terrorist, his world turned a full circle in just one night. He was in jail for over 18 months in 1993 and the media lived on scoops from his tales. Every now and then there would be glimpses of his walking in and out of the courts.

As a young Indian girl, Bollywood certainly delighted me, though I remember little about the entire prison and trial part about Sanjay, what I remember clearly are his early movies. Khalnayak was a turning point in Sanjay’s life as he was arrested right after this movie. It worked against him in certain ways because his image across the entire country came out to be that of a villain because of the negative character that he had played in the film. An obvious reaction that the masses and the perturbed people of Mumbai gave was to hold Sanjay culprit for everything that had happened. There were no grounds on which he could be saved. The courts realized the fact that he had been an addict previously. The only saving grace was the dignity and prestige of his clan.

Once out of jail, Sanjay worked seriously on his career. He did some great films like Vaastav, Kaante, Mission Kashmir, Shootout at Lokhandwala and the 2 Munna Bhai films – Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage rahi Munna Bhai. These two pictures again changed the graph for Sanjay. He started getting known as Munna Bhai. His real life character started getting reflected by his reel life character – that of a soft hearted, loving and honest goon.

So now there is a seesaw in the minds of his audience. While his die hard fans (who are innumerable) loved Sanju through out his trial and suffering period… even those who at one time had openly come out against him, started looking at him with a sympathetic eye.

Between all this, Sanjay lost his mother, Nargis, at a very young age. Later, his first wife of nine years, Richa Sharma, died due to cancer just two months after their daughter Trisha was born. He got married for the second time in 2001 with model Rhea Pillai. But the two got divorced within four years. The final blow came when Sunil Dutt, who had stood by Sanjay through thick and thin, died in 2005.

After a seemingly endless trial ended some months back with the court declared that though Sanjay was not directly involved in the blasts and was not a “terrorist”, he had unlicensed ammunition in his custody which belonged to the underworld. The court pronounced an imprisonment of six years for the actor.

No one knows till now weather Sanjay was involved in the blasts or not? If he was, did he do it knowingly or unknowingly? If he knew what he was doing, why is he set free every now and then? If he was innocent then why has the court announced the punishment?

For me Sanju is a great actor. Those who lost their near and dear ones to the Mumbai blasts can never forget it and move ahead… but the biggest question that remains unanswered is – Despite the fact hat no one saw Sanjay Dutt plant any bomb, no one was killed at his hands directly, why is ONLY Dutt being dragged in and smacked? What about the others, who’s involvement in the blasts has proves???

Sometimes it really seems true that he is paying a tax for being famous.

Sanjay Dutts post prison hairstyle
Aug 24, 2007 07:02 PM 5754 Views

I am a fan of sanjay dutt. I have always believed that sanjay dutt is on personality on whom anything looks good. His eyes and his face cut are his main asset. I was speculating how would sanjay look once he gets out of prison and I was expecting him to sport long hair.

Thanks to my ignorance about jail rules I was pleasantly surprised at the way sanjay looked when he came out of yerwada jail in pune. He looked absolute stud. Anyone who hasnt seen sanjay ever would mistake him for a hollywood hero. He looked cool in that cropped hairstyle.

The slightly grey beard gave him a mature macho kind of look. I wont be surprised if directors would want him to sport that look in his post prison films once he finishes all his legal hassles. He looked like an aging godfather from Italy who had loads of experience in running the mafia or an aged james bond who is at the twilight of his spy career.

This look would also suit him for a role of a researcher kind of character who has won a nobel price for rocket science and has a vast teaching experience or a businessman. All in all this I loved his hairstyle. The best part was he did not spend thousands sporting this hairstyle but was probably done by a barber employed by prison and that is what makes this hairstyle all the more sexy. 3 cheers to sanju baba for sporting this cool hairstyle and also to never give up spirit.. cheerrrz

I was in India for a work cum holiday break during the Sanjay Dutt hearing and subsequent arrest. News channels and front pages of newspapers daily had some news about him, his arrest, his family, his film history etc etc. I really don’t see why his arrest has created such a huge uproar in India.

People were crying on the street, offering pujas and including him in their prayers for his wellbeing and release. The attention to his case has eciplised whatever else that was happening in India at that time. The floods, the hundreds of people who died in them, the lack of food, the lack of proper housing and infrastructure for so many millions in India but all the news channels and newspapers focused on was Sanjay Dutt.

I do agree that Sanjay Dutt is a huge star and has made many memorable movies namely the Munnabhai series which never fail to make me cry whenever I see it. His father was a great man and in recent years even Sanjay Dutt has followed in his footsteps in philanthropy and public service.

He forms deep friendships and is always a dependable friend and colleague. He set up his own production company with Sanjay Gupta (white feather films) and has made a couple of hard hitting films. Everyone that knows him says he’s such a nice guy. But do nice guys get caught in possession of firearms?

So just because he is nice, he should be released? So just because he has already served jail for 16 months, had been convicted under the Arms Act for possessing a 9 mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle he should be free?

There are countless criminals rotting in Indian jails who deserve more sympathy that Mr Dutt but who cares about them? They are faceless, nameless entities who exist in the judicial cycle of India. They do not have the media and the people of India praying for their release. These “criminals” do not have famous families or huge bank accounts.

They may be in jail for petty offences but they will stay in jail because they are just ordinary people like you and me. They do not Shah Rukh Khan organizing a petition among the film fraternity to free them. And these people defiantly not have 100 crore of rupees riding on them. Sanjay Dutt is an actor, a star, he is Munnabhai!

Currently I am in Singapore, so I do not face the daily onslaught and updates about the Sanjay Dutt case. But yesterday he was given interim bail from jail- why am I not surprised? The only question I want to pose to the ordinary man, to you, the readers does he deserve it?

If it was you or me in jail, would anyone even give damn? Think about it. Cheers.

Signature Campaign for Sanjay Dutt
Aug 10, 2007 03:47 PM 6948 Views

Bollywood stars are thinking of launching a signature campaign to release Sanjay Dutt – actor and convict of 1993 blast. Priya Dutt is using her political powers which are given to her by those citizens among whom some have lost their loved ones in 1993 blast.

At one side Bollywood is trying to influence people with there fame and at the other side Priya Dutta is trying to use her political powers - given by the same lay man who have become victim of her brothers deeds. Where were this Bollywood when so many innocent people had died in 93’ blast? This is exactly what is asked by the Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam in today’s Afternoon newspaper.

After Judge Kode gave 6 yrs sentence to Dutt I can say I have full faith in Judiciary it is not biased, as this is a very good example that shows that even if we have many corrupt and unfaithful politicians and most of the top authorities we can still keep faith in Law and judiciary.

We all know that Sanjay Dutt is a talented actor; if this tag has not stopped him from committing the crime then the same “TALENTED ACTOR” tag should not stop our judiciary from punishing him from the act he has committed. He had kept weapons with him that could have used for destroying the public property and harming innocent people, he was not a child that he was not aware for what this arms was given to him or where this arms were going to be used.

He knew it very well though not in detail. I personally feel we should not participate in such a campaign which supports crime and nothing else. I don’t know with what interest all the Bollywood stars are thinking of starting the signature campaign but I am sure before thinking about this campaign they have not at all given a thought to what have happened to those family who have lost there loved ones.

Terrorism is encouraged in our country only because of citizens like Sanjay Dutt, if at all any one of us participate in the ‘Support – Sanjay’ campaign we are only welcoming more terrorism in our country. Only because of this political influence used by Sunil Dutt all this years Sanjay Dutt have escaped of the punishment and like him several others.

If this people were punished earlier and all the politicians instead of helping terrorist would have helped our Police and Army the last year train Bomb Blast in Mumbai could have easily avoided. Bollywood stars and Priya Dutt are not realizing the loss of family members in these blasts.

In the last years July Bomb blast there was cases where both the parents were in the same train. What have this Bollywood stars and Priya Dutt done for the children who have become orphan in those few moments? What have they done for those who have lost there only bread earner in the family? What have they done for the expecting wife who was waiting for her husband?

There are many more questions which we all want to express and come forth with. If we can’t raise questions then at least we can avoid supporting this campaign and pass the same message to others. At least by avoiding signing the campaign and making others realise what they are actually doing by signing the campaign I feel I have contributed to one good deed in my lifetime.

Please reply on what you feel about this campaign and do you feel it is right or wrong. Please remember that lots of people have lost there life in bomb blast, the judge and lawyers have spend sleepless night and have taken hard work in this blast trial. Don’t let it go waist.

Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future. If you think Sanjay Dutt is a humble person as most of the people from Mumbai Film Industry feel, you are not wrong. He behaves well, cooperates with everybody and you can say that he is just like a saint. But again every saint has a past and you always pay for your past deeds.

If you think Sanjay Dutt is a criminal as TADA court feels, you are not wrong. He was involved in criminal activities and hence he is a criminal in the eyes of court. The verdict is given to a criminal. But again every sinner has a future. He may come back again in a more powerful manner as he has proved this in past.

Justice Justified vs Blind Blunder

There are different reactions on this matter. Some feels law is equal for every citizen and hence this judgment is correct. Other group has a different view. They feel Sanjay is paying too much for his deeds just because he is a celebrity. If you notice comments and reactions properly, they are popping just in a corner of Bollywood. Nobody dared to come upfront and say anything against the verdict or even in the support of the verdict. Message is clear. Although people have sympathy with Sanjay Dutt they respect our judiciary. They don’t want to be caught in any controversy. Even Indian media is playing safe. They are just providing information, no views or analysis from their side.

The drama of life begins with a wail and ends with a sigh.Still we get chance to enjoy some moments, cherish some memories and feel elated about some achievements. Groans will always try to tear our vessels but it’s up to us to blossom the seeds of happiness. Sailor’s skill is monitored when he is going against waves and not when he is moving with the waves. Sanjay Dutt is a fighter who always wins against his timely enemiesand I hope he does the same this time also.

The energy of the mind is the essence of life. Feel the energy and live the life.

Munnabhai Ki Ajeeb Dastan!
Aug 01, 2007 10:55 AM 5787 Views

Sanjay Dutt was launched by his parents in 'Rocky' opposite Tina Munim. The audience found him to be a reluctant actor whose dancing was really terrible. But his beefcake looks were a hit and as 'sanju baba' of Bollywood, he had a vulnerability, a rare innocence that was hard to miss.Despite the fact that baba was doing drugs he was included in major films through which he naturally sleepwalked.

The turning point came perhaps with mother Nargis' death after which Dutt's career began to pick up momentum. He went through a detoxification regime though. But the fact is that Sanjay Dutt became a major action star a status that he still enjoys. He offered a lethal combo-amazing looks, good acting and tons of innocent ruggedness. He was the ultimate child-man who was every pretty girl's fantasy. But then he again got into trouble. After emerging from it he became a major star again. His face mirrored the tragedy and vicissitudes of his life and times.Suddenly, from a star Dutt became an actor of respectability. His performance as the wronged bad man with a heart of gold in 'Vaastav' fetched him a Filmfare.Dutt had surely hit a purple patch.

He went from strength to strength as action hero when Munnabhai suddenly appeared in our lives.Munna was the ultimate tapori, the greatest conman who is as charming and nice as he could possibly be.From Sanju Baba Sanjay Dutt metamorphosed into Munna overnight..Munnabhai the franchise has been eminently successful. But Sanju Baba's troubles are far from over.

Sanjay Dutt sentenced to 6 years Inprisonment
Jul 31, 2007 02:46 PM 5401 Views

TADA court today sentenced Sanjay Dutt 6 years inprisonment. This is a landmark in Indian Judicial judgement. IT HAS BEEN PROVEN NOW THAT "NOBODY IS ABOVE LAW" in India too.

Court refused the appeal on basis that while he committed the crime wasn't minor and did in his full knowledge.

The main reason behind these seems to be his involvement with Mafias like Abu Salem and Dawood.

Sanjay Dutt has been very promising in all his recent movies. Movie like Vastav & Shootout are some his great movie I like to watch often.

His appeal for Bail also been rejecte and now he straight away will head to prison.

I as an Indian national feel it is right. But being Sanju fan I feel very bad today.

We hope the Indian Judicial system applies the same norms for INDIAN POLITICIANS too.

I would like to know comments on above from MSians.

10 best scenes of sanjay dutt
Feb 17, 2007 04:18 PM 5571 Views

I was recently reading the 10 best scenes in hindi movies. And after

reading so many articles I have come to a conclusion with so many good

actors around for close to 60 yrs of cinema. Its indeed hard to decide

the best.

Therefore I have decided to rate few actors best scenes.this is the first  of my installment.

Naam- a great movie in totality, be it music, performance, direction.

*A quite embarrased and guilty sanjay dutt confessing his love for

his mother before leaving to Dubai. The reason why he is what he is and

why he admires her more now.Wah kya scene hai!

Saajan-A love triangle which is inspiring to date.lovely music and performances.

The scene just after Sanjay dutt is being insulted by the Police .The

outburst at the Church asking for an explanation why he was made

Lame? why was he made to suffer?why was he humiliated before his love?.

A truly logical scene showing a man with no legs at all offering prayer

in peace.

Khalnayak- A good for nothing rogue who gets clean in the end

The scene where the officers are waiting for Sanjay dutt  to

escape from jail.everyone is tense as 10th October ends with the clock

going tick at midnight. In the cell Ballu cooly plays with marbles when

being informed it is already 11th October , he explains his

reason.Craziness personified

Yalgaar- A solid police drama which was rejected upright. If anyone sees any reasons for its failure please do me a favour to write it.

The scene where a drunk sanjay dutt confronts his father  as to

why he loves his brother more .Why not him.where as he is the one

looking after his dad and not his brother. The pain is easily

identifiable by any elder brother who is not loved much by his family.

Vaastav- the film needs no introduction

I know many will rate the climax as the best.but I would  like

to  rate another scene, The scene where  Sanjay dutt tries to

recall his childhood, how his father and he used to go to the beach and

how everything is finished now.the dialogue aisa ich ek Track apun ne bhi pakda hai.The father tries to slap  him and he starts shouting and they both end crying.I wonder if anyone is not moved by it.

Khauff-A movie about a hitman, cool styling and performances.

the scene where Sanjay dutt tries to scare Manisha quoting a doll as an example where as he refers to Manisha's younger sister. Gudiya to toot ke jud bi jati hai, magar insaan?.The menace and conviction in his eyes. Wow

Mission Kashmir- **Again an under rated movie with great visuals and performances

The scene where Sanjay dutt is told by the Home minister, he no longer

is incharge of the C.M security. The retaliation by Inayat Khan about

being a muslim  and the subsequent showdown with his wife. A

really mature performance.

Kaante- I know the movie is a copy, but I hope the scene is not.

The whole interrogation of Ajju by the Gora cops where he answers in

hindi and the Indian cop translates. The scene is full of profanities

but deadpan look on the face. Chalne de !

Munnabhai Mbbs- **The jadu ki jhappi

The speech after he admits to being a gunda and cheating in exam.He

requests to help zaheer's mom, says sorry and leaves.I doubt if anyone

had dry eyes after watching that scene.

Lage Raho Munnabhai- **Another gem

The scene when  Munna tries to say sorry to Circuit and asks him

not to see in his eyes.Recalling all those times when he was his only

shoulder to cry on.I doubt any genuine friend or human being will not

get goosebumps and feel guilt. Kamaal ka scene hai bhidu.

Just plain lucky

I before start my review want to make it clear that three stars and my endorsement for him are just based on his film performances and nothing more than that so my review and my rating should not be read together I think sanjay dutt is perhaps the most luckiest man in atleast mumbai if not india if yesterdays bombay bomb blast judgement has been taking account as he got convited but rather lightly under the arms act and not tada which is more stringent which is rather unfortunate for other accused as others with similart charges have been booked under tada and sanjay has gone free this shows that justice is not same for all and being famous helps and this shows perhaps judge kode was influencedby his star status or was told by his family to give a lesse punishment dsanjay dutt has gone lot through in his life be it professional or personal with some of them being illegal like drugs ,underworldcontacts but has come out most of times mainly because of ihs father sunil dutt who stood behind him like a rock most of times either good or bad but now it seems bad days are over for time being as he has evolved personally and has also has significant professional gains after his superlative performance in munnabhai so lets hope he does not get into troublefrom now on and also see whether his luck continues when judgement is made for bomb blast case on 19 december

The Legend of Sanjay Dutt
Nov 13, 2006 10:29 AM 5069 Views

Sanjay Duttthe name itself brings to mind a person

who have gone through so many up's and down's in his life,

not only on personnel grounds but also in proffessional life

also Sanjay Dutt has struggeled a lot,and every time he came out as a winner.

He is the style icon from the early 90's, he is a trend-setter,

make him wear a pathan suit for a goons role or make him wear an Armaani

he carries himself so accurately and perfectly that none other than

Mr. Amitabh Bachan can match it..

There was a time when he was down in his proffessional life ,

critics started writing filth about him....people started looking him like a terrorist

but he not only proved that he is a great person he showed substance in his actting

too....

Then came VASTAV which catapult his carrer to new heights ...

He was seen as the best Don to be played by anyone

his critics went silent ....they were speechless ...they only had praises for his acting

Munna Bhai and Lagey Raho Munna Bai are the feather's in his cap..

I was told that sharukh was the first preference for the role on

Munna bhai and Sanjay Dutt was been casted for the role of Circuit...

God saved us that sharukh didn't had dates and we had the oppurtunity

to see Sanjay in the role ...he gave the character a life ....the jaadu ki jhaapi's became

the talk of the town .....the chemistry that Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi showed on screen

hasn't been seen in years .....they created two character's which have become the household name

there dialouge's are been spoken by people in there daily life ..............

The LEGEND name Sanjay Dutt will never be forgotten or erased from the memories

of Indian Cinema

Sanjay Dutt vs Sunil Dutt-no comparision
Nov 06, 2006 04:43 PM 4675 Views

Today I was reading a statement of Sanjay Dutt. There was detailed description that his sleeps had vanished and for the last 3 months he is in deep worries regarding court's judgement for his involvement in Bombay Bomb Blast. His keeping AK57 Rifles and later destroying it with the help of other criminals.Later during the hearing of the case when he presented recently, he said Hello Hi with a dreaded criminal and conspirator Bhai of Mumbai Underworld.

What ever his fate comes out and what ever punishment he gets, is the business of the judiciary. But the main issue is that he is a good actor and his Munna Bhai and Lage Raho Munna Bhai were superb.

The most objectionable comment I want to cite is that he got inspired by his late father Sunil Dutt.Giving reference of his late father when talking about his case and punishment looks like he got inspired to become drug addict, criminal and so on.

I do remember that Sunil Dutt Saheb was one of the most lovable personality not only in indian cinema but also in politics. He never favoured his son in the crime.

He never approached Bala Saab Thakre for any favour nor any politrician and even when he was minister in centre.

Nothing more to say now.

The man, The stature, The acting...The Legend
Aug 05, 2006 06:11 PM 5562 Views

The man, The stature, The acting....The Legend..!

This is how I would describe SANJAY DUTT.. He has been my favorite actor since my childhood [I was a fan of his physique rather then acting...He has one of the most ionic personality in Bollywood]

But now when I look back I think there is more to just a mere personality infact a lot more..

[Career analysis]

When Sanju stared his career he was an amateur..or in simple words he was bad actor. From 1981 to to 1985 all his movie were pathetic except ROCKY [1981] and VIDHAATA [1982]..

Then came along a movie called NAAM [1986] directed by Mahesh Bhatt which is known as Sanju's first come back. He completely surprised one and all in NAAM. He was excellent throughout but in the climax he was out of the world. After NAAM, his career seemed stable. He did another movie with Mahesh Bhatt named KABZAA [1988] though the movie failed at the box office but it was a killer in terms of quality. Sanjay was smashing and gave a great performance. Movies like GHAYAL & GHULAAM are ripoffs of KABZAA but in terms of quality KABZAA still remains a better product. If the failure of a damn good movie like KABZAA wasn't enough..there came HATHYAR [1989]. Directed by J.P. Dutta HATHYAR is one of the first and best gangster films made in India. Sanjay again proved what he can if given a proper role. His scene in climax was jaw dropping. Indeed one of the most underrated films ever made.

So the 80s are over and 90s begin with a bang for Sanjay. He gives two back to back super hits in SADAK [1991] and SAAJAN [1991] and becomes one of the most bankable stars. With SAAJAN he sheds his "action star" image dons a romantic image. He act of silent lover was loved by one and all. At this stage he is at the peek of his career, KHALNAYAK [1993] further proves the point.

--------------Jail Period--------------

After delivering flops after flops Sanjay comes back with a bang. VAASTAV [1999] known as his second come back can arguably be called his best performance and one of the best male performances in Bollywood. VAASTAV gets Sanju is first BEST ACTOR award.

2000's starts on a good note as MISSION KASHMIR [2000] releases. This movie further proves Sanjay's versatility. He plays the role of a father but there is more to it as he role has action, romance and emotion and Sanju enacts it with utmost ease. From quite a few time some critics kept complaining that Sanjay Dutt can't do comedy (even though he had done it many times). This is a question for anyone who knows, and it's kind of a sensitive subject, so sorry if I offend anyone or touch a nerve. I'm British with Indian parents, not a huge fan of Bollywood except a few films, saw Saajan when I was in India visiting relatives, and I loved it. Really loved Sanjay Dutt in it, so just been reading some stuff about him, and every source I find says he was connected to the Mumbai bombings but then let off by the government. Despite this, everywhere there is dialogue about him, no one speaks of him in any way but positively.

The internet is obviously very unreliable, so I'm not making any assumptions, because that information could be totally wrong. I was in India in 1993 but I was too young to remember, so - what's the story? Was he innocent? Must've been is my guess, or else he wouldn't be free now, but then why was he in jail for a whole year? Anyone who can tell me what happened? I'm really curious, thanks a lot. Sanjay Dutt has shown he is one of the most talented and coolest Indian actors ever in the history of Indian Cinema.

He’s a brilliant actor but is underrated when it comes to the awards ceremonies just because he isn’t very friendly with the media and he’s got a court casing going on plus his films have violence and swearing in them. I think the Indian award ceremonies need to improve, their disgrace. Doing films for many years gives you a lot of practice and experience too. I saw his first movie, Rocky he didn’t seem very confident and everything but over the years he improved a lot. ''I've never really done things by the book. You can't study acting. I've never read books on acting, never tried to copy anyone.

I have done things straight from my heart. I'm not a method actor; I don't need rehearsals. I don't want time to get into a character. If I am left alone to get into the skin of a character, I'll go crazy.'' -- Sanjay Dutt. After all the things he has been through the guy has the ability to fight back even though born in a Bollywood family he started out as a horrible actor but struggles in his life (mother’s and wife’s death, drug problems, prison time, getting dumped by Madhuri Dixit) made him tough as steel. Sanjay Dutt has giving excellent brilliant versatile powerhouse performances in his films in gangster roles only and has had the guts to make different films and venture into unconventional themes and plots not like other actors that stick to making boring family films to make money at the box office.

He could have been known as the best and even still could if it wasn’t for him going to jail for a couple of years when he was at the prime of his career after excellent films like Saajan and Khalnayak. Then he came out of jail and made a couple of crap films but it was his performance in Vaastav that resurrected his career and everyone sat up and started to take notice of him again and respect him as one of the really brilliant versatile actors in the Indian film industry. If he was more professional he would have by now been the best but he tends to make a few outstanding films then makes a lot of crap films with his friends who spoil his career, he needs to have better management.

Its good he’s teamed up with Vidhu Vinod Chopra bcos he really makes great films. If you look at all the best performances of all the top actors then u will see that there is many that can match Sanjay Dutt' mediocre and foolish Career has portrayed Same old gangster characters and even killed a few songs lol and produced the ground breaking cult classic remake of reservoir dogs Kaante, Zinda is a poor blatant copy of the Korean masterpiece Old Boy. Sanjay Dutt rightfully deserved the filmfare for Best Actor; He was robbed before in Naam and Khalnayak.

He's a treat to watch when given a solid script, truly amongst the all time greats. I have to agree he's good but he is not the best actor in bollywood today. Naam is a terrific treat and a great film, the music and the acting of Sanjay Dutt was out of this world. The story at the start is slow and boring but it's worth the wait because the second part of the film is outstanding and Sanjay Dutt in this section of the film is out of this world and gives Amitabh Bachchan a run for his money, Reminds you of the similarities of the role Amitabh Bachchan plays in some of his early films,

A Shame Sanjay Dutt couldn't do roles like this more often, A one off Sanjay Dutt stunner, A must watch Film, A film you can watch over and over again. But Sanjay has had his share of ups and downs. He started with hits like Rocky and Vidhata in 1981-1982, and then had a series of flops. He bounced back in 1987 with Naam and Kabzaa in 1988. In 1990, when he did Thanedar, Sanjay proved he could be a good dancer too -- with the hit song Tamah tamah, with Madhuri Dixit. He scored another hit with Khalnayak, once again with Madhuri, in 1993. But that was when his luck ran out, and he got into trouble about the blasts case. Even after he was released, lady luck seemed to have ditched Sanjay. All his movies bombed. And then, Mahesh Manjrekar's Vaastav happened in 1999. Sanjay bounced back into the big league. ''If Sanjay Dutt was professional in managing his career, he could have been the top star of our country.

There was a time when he was neck to neck with the top actors but he slipped because he gave more importance to friendships in the industry than his movies,'' one of our great performances actor Sanjay dutt. It's no doubt. He's acting in Dushman, Mission Kashmir, Kaante, Pitah, M.B.B.S, Shabd, Parineeta and Zinda awesome. But I have to say one thing some his film choices was not good in sometimes. Past years he was act in bad films too. If he sign only good films His career would be go to top Like Aamir and Shahrukh.

Notorious son of a very good father

He is a rotten egg of Bollywood. Check given qualities of Sanjay Dutt to believe that.

He is a notorious son of a very good father.

  1. Each time new heroine

He wants new heroine each time. He has not repeated his heroine in last 5 years. Here is proof.

Zinda (Lara), Shabd (Aish), Dus (Shilpa), Nehle Pe Dehla (Kim Sharma), Sarhad Paar (Tabbu), Parineeta (Raima Sen), Rudraksh (Bipasha), Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (Gracy), Ek Aur Ek Gyarah (Amrita Arora), Pitaah (Nandita Das), Annarth (Preeti Jhangiani), Jodi No. 1 (Monika Bedi), Chal Mere Bhai (Sonali Bendre), Deewangee (Raveena), Baaghi (Manisha)

At the age of even 47, he wants to work with heroine age 22.

  1. Gangster Role

He is most comfortable in doing role of gangster, criminal and Don. Check all his films which he enjoyed being criminal - Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Viruddh, Musafir, Deewaar, Kaante, Hum Kisise Kum Nahin, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, Hathyar

  1. Two broker marriages

he has 2 marriages broker. Wives are Richa and Rhea. While Richa was there he had affair with Madhuri. And 2nd time with Rhea, who has supported him during jail days he has more than one affairs with actresses / models.

  1. Relations with Underworld

The Sanjay Dutt and Chota Sakeel tapes proved that he has close links with the mafia gang. This gang has played role in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Even Abu Salem admitted to the CBI that he had met Sanjay Dutt and has good relations.

As per Rediff.com - Sanjay Dutt has also having relations with Dwood Irahim, his brother Aees. After that meeting, Aees used to visit Sanjay regularly during the shooting.

  1. Fond of Guns

In 1993 Sanjay Dutt has confessed to have AK 56. First he denied that but later on during police interrogation he confessed the same. He told police that he is having the same for self defense. AK 56 for self defense? Plus he has also confessed that he is having 2 rifles and 1 shot gun. He told that it is for hunting purpose only. Isn't it ridiculous ?

  1. Influence over other

he is having huge influence over young generation as well as few film stars. e.g. Salman Khan (you can see salman style and hair during Saajan), he was just following Sanjay. In a same way salman's involvement in all these cases can also because he has impression of Sanjay Dutt in his mind. Likewise many yong people may get affected by him.

I am not talking about that drug matter as we can consider that he was too young and may get distracted a bit. But all above things are happened at mature age. There is no point in thinking that he is changed and living his life like a gentleman. Why he is not in Jail only because he is a celebrity ? So are there different set of rules for Celebrities ? I am totally not recommending him.

What a man this guy is , the real lambi race ka ghoda.

25 years have passed since Rocky & he is still going pretty strong on nearly all counts while all his contemporaries are down & out(well almost).

once upon a time, this hunk's films weren't music to the ears of trade pundits, and the only tune to which he was singing was of the Tamburine man. To put it straight, he was mired in drugs and had far from 'arrived' but Naam changed it once & for all.

Early 90's saw him taking giant strides towards super stardom but tragedy struck in the form of TADA .Even those dark years were not able to stop baba from staging a terrific comeback & since then he is doing pretty well , agreed had he not been jailed things would have been betta , a lot betta but still the amount of grit & vigour he showed to regain his place in bollywood is exemplary.

As far as acting is concerned he's getting betta & betta , 25 years have passed but his best is yet to come IMO , easily amongst the greatest actors of all times.

Finally all I would like to say is ''whenever u think he is history , he returns back to create history''

Sanjay dutt's best movies

Following is my choice for my fav actor:

1-Munna Bhai MBBS

I think this was a great test of the acting abilities of the deadly dutt and no none else could have performed better than him. I loved his comic abilities however at the end he was flawless in his emotional outburst.I specially liked the scene when the patient dies in his arms. The other great scene was playing carom with the old man in the hospital.

2-Vastav:

Tailor made role for the deadly dutt. No one could have done this better...not even big B I am sure. He looked excellent in the role of the don who was forced by the circumstances to become one reluctantly. His command on the mumbai language was great. I have seen this movie many times and never get bored.

3-Hathyar: An older movie with Dharmendra and Rishi Kapoor was a great movie. Not many people know about this one. Go and watch and let me know about your feedback.

4-Kaante: Great acting and great role though it did not perform that well at the box office.

5-Pitah: Great acting by the this dutt in Mahesh M movie.

6-Vidhata: This one is a very early movie. His best scene was with the thespian Dilip Kumar when he shouts at him telling that he will join the crores of the other indians who are shelterless in the nation. He looked drugged throughout though.

Then he has several other entertaining movies but not so well known for his acting.

I invite your comments.

The bad man

I have always liked sanjaydutt as an actor he is not number one on my list, but he is certainly somewhere from 1 to 5 he has always delivered what the audience has wanted so these are his best 5 films.

1.  Khalnayak - I think his best movie and his best performance as well, he does a fantastic job as portraying the villain. Subhash ghai's biggest hit of the decade. He plays a guy name balu balram in the movie, but one particular scenes that is always on my mind is when sanjay dutt finds out that madhuri doesnot love him she is in love with jackie shroff he says janti ho ek bacha khalnayak kab banta hai jab dhokhe ka khanjar uske seene mein choob diya jaaye, aab mein tumhe aur tumhari duniya ko bataonga ke ek sahi khalnayak kya hota hai. He looked so handsome in that movie too.

  1. Vaastav - Truly a great movie, one of the best in the gangster genre, sanjay dutt shines as the underworld don named raghu. The scene where he becomes as gangster and comes home to his parents and shows them a gun is fantastic scene. The climax of the movies is well shoot mahesh manjrekar became a big time director with this superhit movie of 1999, you can watch it anytime for the direction and sanjaydutts acting skill.

  2. Munnabhai mbbs- One of the biggest hit of 2003 even the hollywood people are remaking this in english. Sanjay dutt fits the role the role is tailor made for him.  Any other couldnot have done the justice to this role like he did. Sunil dutt had made a come back after a long time and truly was great as well, I am fan of sunil dutt as well he was a great actor of his time. Munna bhai is one of the greatest films of hindi cinema and a good comedy.

  3. Musafir- Another hit movie of 2004, the music was great by vishal shekhar the cast was well choosen with anil kapoor as the lead hero and sanjay playing a don called billa had funny liners to entertain us. I love the dialogues of this movie by sanjay dutt. Sanjay gupta always plans to be different with every release, who cares if the movie is copied 50 to 60 percent hindi films are copied these days.

5.  Hathyar- one of the earlier films of sanjay dutt by director jp dutta great story and direction, but a hugestar cast like sanjay dutt, dharmendra, rishi kapoor paresh rawal. This is one of the earliest movies where sanjay dutt began those don kind of roles. This was truly a great movie which was average at the box office. Dharmendra was just great as usual in this one to.
