We have been back to Sydney from India for a week now and have had time to unpack, tidy up around the home and garden and catch up on some sleep.
We thank Sanguine Holidays for the excellent arrangements for our last trip to Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Everything went well.
The hotels were clean and comfortable and we managed to avoid getting sick (probably because we mostly ate in the hotel restaurants).
We stayed in below hotels and all were up to our satisfaction. We recommend this hotels to other tourists also, from the hotels website you can see the pictures and facilities available there. We spent around $ 1500 for this tour including Ac car and feel that it is worth.
Kovalam - Hotel Samudra
Kanyakumari - Hotel Sparsa
Madurai - Royal Court
Rameshwaram - Royal Park
Trichy - Hotel Breeze
Tanjore - Orient Towers
Pondichery - Hotel Annamalai
Mahabalipuram - Golden Sun
Chennai - Oriental Inn
It was a very different trip from the one we did in Kerala last year with Sanguine – the roads were rougher and dustier and the people were obviously not as well off as those in Kerala.
However, I was fascinated by the village life, the activity along the roads and the town markets. Of course, the wonderful temples at Madurai and Rameswaram were features of the tour.
We also enjoyed the trip to Dhanushkodi sand spit by small truck, the colonial streets of Pondicherry old town, the rock temples at Mamallapuram and the activities on Marina Beach at Chennai.
As before, our driver Saji was a big help to us and it is good to have someone you can rely on to steer you through the crazy traffic.
We are thinking of Goa and Karnataka for the end of 2011 and it will be definitely through Sanguine Holidays as they planned our last two tours to India in a professional way.
