Customer Profiling- Not Good
Dec 10, 2016 05:26 PM 1966 Views

This was my second visit in 2 weeks and I have noticed that the services vary from customer to customer, if one is a celebrity its the best tables and the best service food is good but the service was very very slow, well at the end I wanted to get enrolled for the loyalty membership card and there was so much of a fuss, the manager quoted that one has to eat here regularly with which the reply was yes but still he refused to give any more info and the card to me, in short he said tell me your name and I will remember the next time you walk in and do the needful which for me sounded very absurd. Such type of attitude is acceptable for a small Restaurant not something like Royal China. Personally I am disgusted with this.

Mission Chinese

I am a Chinese food lover and I and my friend think this place serves some finger licking Chinese food. My mouth is still tingling with the Vegetarian cheung fun & Vegetable chilly garlic noodles with all it’s different explosive flavors.

The flavors were bold and absolutely amazing! This place has some really unique style dishes that I have ever had. It’s innovative without losing authenticity. Yes, it is pricier than other some Chinese restaurants in the vicinity, but the food here is great and creative. Atmosphere fits the food.

Overall, I was pretty intrigued by the unique menu items. It is a nice place to bring people looking for a different spin on traditional Chinese dishes. You need to run and try this place…it is amazing! If it is Chinese it has to be Royal China.

Loved the decor

We started with veg coriander soup. Thick soup with lots of veggies. Was decent n cacuse it was hot could enjoy it. Next was scallops in light soy sauce.

Not had better scallops before it was succulent juicy and full of flavor. The main course was brilliant part. Basa in flaming sauce with chilli oil garlic noodles.

The fish was absolutely brilliant soft and tender. The noodles was a mix of fries noodles and steamed noodles and carrot, mushrooms, baby corn, onions.

The ambiance is appealing, but short of what I would call romantic. It's softly lit with warm light, and there are dividers between most tables for something along the lines of privacy and decorations.

What I really liked is the lounge worthy like entry areas, where one can sit while awaiting a table when outdoors, or stand and be a little less comfortable indoors.

There are Chinese elements in the design, but it's too subtle to be stereotypical, ensuring a rather traditional fine dine environment.

Here's some authentic Chinese food for you

I am not a big fan of vegetarian food, but to my surprise I had pretty huge portions of veggie items as well. Everything from soups to dumplings to noodles to gravies was cooked to perfection. A must visit for all Chinese lovers. And it is not that expensive as well.

Perfect mix of contemporary and ancient Chinese interiors with gold plated cutlery for a real royal feel.

Been their twice with friends and though exorbitantly priced, the food and taste are so authentic, it's worth the price.

My personal favorites are Dimsum Platter, Bacon wrapped prawns, steamed fresh Scallops, chicken with bamboo pith clear soup, prawns in XO sauce, Cantonese honey roasted pork and steamed mushroom pot rice. The staff is warm, helpful and welcoming. And if you are lucky you can spot a few Bollywood celebrities.

Great Chinese Food

The best Chinese in town undoubtedly. The pan fried noodles is a must try along with the chicken with spring onion in chili oil.

The dimsums are also great and have to mention they have the best hit n sour soup in town very very authentic. Have ordered delivery also from them many times and have never been disappointed.

Like the ambiance and pulse of the place. Started with drinks all done to perfection, I ordered a Mai Tai- looked as good as it tasted, appetizers in the Dim sum platter, roast pork buns, prawn cheung fun.

Main course in lamb in hot garlic sauce, kungpao prawns with the  pot rice and some yum flat noodles rounded up a leisurely.

Sunday brunch with family, the day I was taking off for a solo holiday.

Head here right now!

Royal China is certainly one of the best Chinese restaurants in Bombay.

It serves refined, not authentic Chinese fare. With a strategic location, gorgeous food and best-in-class service, this one is a winner!  We visited Royal China on a Wednesday; lo and behold, it was still a full house.

We were seated at a comfortable round table overlooking the delighted customers and on-the-go servers.

As this was our first visit to this classy eatery, we went with the servers’ suggestions and called for a portion each of smoked shredded chicken and chicken fried wantons(two portions) for appetizers.

For the mains, we called for stir fried chicken with ginger and spring onion and Royal China exotic vegetables with a side of vegetarian soya Hong Kong style noodles and garlic fried rice.

I absolutely recommend Royal China for a lovely Chinese meal with friends.

Mumbai India
Never visit
Feb 18, 2011 03:28 PM 2992 Views

I visited Royal China-Mumbai, just last week, The food was pathetic, plus a mosquito was served in the main course sauce. None of the staff members bothered to apologise and we had left our main course uneaten. But they charged us for the main course, without even replacing the entire main course meal or giving something else complimentary.

I wonder why Royal china is one of the Best restaurants. THey do not treat common people like us with respect, who are ready to shell out good amount of money for a good food experience. Never visit this place.

Instead try other Chinese restaurants like Mainland china and Noodle Bar are the best in terms of hospitality and food.

Royal China:

192, Turner Road, Bandra(W) Mumbai – 400-050. Ph – 26425533, 26425111, 67049553

Serve Alcohol: Yes

Parking: Valet available

Ambience: Plush, spacious and comfortable. Beige and red are the basic colors used with a dash of purple adding some more color. The restaurant is warmly lit which adds to the decor. Comfortable furniture is spaced apart well, through the two levels of this restaurant.

Service:

Quick, efficient, intelligent and courteous. While placing the order my friend mentioned she was allergic to seafood and would prefer vegetarian, to us. The Maitre de taking our order made it a point to specify if seafood or eggs were a part of any of the dishes we were considering ordering. ‘The Mud pie contains egg, Ma’am, I think you should know’ made us smile.

What we ate and drank:

Creamy Sweet Corn Soup(Rs 275)(Nice)

Thai Veg Tung Yum Soup(Rs 215)(Nicer)

Chicken with Vegetable Clear Soup(Rs 225)(Nicest, and very filling)

Starters were;

Stir-Fried Chicken with Chilli(Rs 375)(Finger licking good!)

Dim-Sum: Chicken Cheung Fun(Rs 285. 3 pieces)(Good)

Main course was;

Sauteed Chicken with Chilli(Rs 395)(Very nice, but tasted a lot like the stir-fried chicken starter)

Greens with Black Mushroom(Rs 400)(Really nice, if you love your mushrooms)

Chicken Fried Rice(Rs 350)(Delish)

Dessert of the day:

Mudpie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream(Rs175)(Y.U.M.M.Y)

Caramel Custard(Rs 175)(A wee bit eggy, felt some)

Coke(Rs 60)

Total: Rs 3, 106(including a 6%(Rs 176) service charge) for 4 people

The delicious aromas that emanated from the food whetted our appetites even as we were being served. The dishes were garnished and presented well and the portion sizes were good. They are known for their dim-sums and though the dim sum was good, I’ve had better.
