It was a beautiful rom com movie, tied with family morals & diverse backgrounds. with beautiful & heart filling songs, the movie was such a pleasant with eye catching backgrounds. The love story is really filled with old school romance & the flirthy stratergies were a top notch. It is filled with compromises, understandings, breaking rules for good and more than that the movie potrayed, respecting of Women, following our passion irrespective of gender yet never leaving one's family behind.

The climax has this beautiful plot & a scene where the groom's and is kept over a bride's & vise versa.

With this beautiful ending, the tale of families has won my heart!

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" is a recent Bollywood disaster that left me utterly disappointed. This film, directed by a once-promising filmmaker, promised to be a love story for the ages but ended up being a colossal letdown.

First and foremost, the storyline is a clichéd mess. It's a tired old formula of rich boy meets poor girl, and their love triumphs over societal barriers. There's nothing innovative or fresh about it. The film fails to bring anything new to the table in terms of storytelling.

The acting, too, is subpar. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, who have proven their talent in the past, seem to be sleepwalking through their roles. Their chemistry is non-existent, and their performances lack depth and emotion.

The music, which is usually a highlight of Bollywood films, falls flat. The songs are forgettable and do nothing to enhance the movie's overall appeal.

The pacing is excruciatingly slow, making the nearly three-hour runtime feel like an eternity. I found myself checking my watch multiple times, desperately waiting for something interesting to happen.

In conclusion, "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" is a forgettable and lackluster film that adds nothing new to the Bollywood romance genre. Save your time and money, and skip this one.

I'm writing this review to warn others about the utter disappointment that is Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. I went into this movie with high expectations given the star cast, but it failed miserably on every front.

The story is completely nonsensical and disjointed. There is barely any plot development, just a series of random scenes strung together haphazardly. The characters are poorly written and have no depth whatsoever. Rocky and Rani have zero chemistry together on screen. Their so-called 'prem kahani' is completely unconvincing.

The performances by the lead actors are subpar. Ranveer Singh as Rocky is loud, over the top and frankly quite annoying. Alia Bhatt as Rani does the bare minimum and looks utterly bored. The supporting cast seems like they just phoned it in. Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan are completely wasted in their roles.

The music by AR Rahman is lackluster and forgettable. None of the songs stick with you after leaving the theater. The choreography in the dance numbers is lazy and uninspired.

The direction by Karan Johar is all over the place. It lacks cohesion and purpose. The tone shifts awkwardly between drama, romance and comedy. The pacing is off and it feels much longer than its runtime. The cinematography is garish and distracting.

Overall, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani has a convoluted plot, dull characters, mediocre performances, and sloppy direction. It fails to entertain or touch the audience emotionally. I'd recommend avoiding this one unless you want to waste your time and money. Go for something else instead that's actually worth watching.

I am not big fan of Kjo but honestly this movie is really good. As always Ranveer Singh and Aaliya looks great together. Both are excellent actors. Sabanaji

An complete family entertainer with drama, emotion and the Kjo Grandeur with a progressive message. From large colourful sets, multi cast , exotic locations , amazing music, comedy, tragedy to a wonderful Love story it all seemed like a modern age K3G. The trailer didn’t set much of expectations for the film but as the film progresses you just get involved in it , the old evergreen songs are like a cameo in the film adds soo much beauty to the film . Vintage Dharmendra Sir , Shabani Azmi Mam and their chemistry is organically fire with all ease , the way this film touches up on sensitive topics and gives out a progressive message out for the audience is an ace work by Kjo as an director . The screenplay is woow , the way its stitched gets the audience involved in the film , only the initial few minutes in the 2nd half seemed a little dragged but otherwise perfect. Ranveer & Alia have delivered an amazing performance , specially Alia Bhatt in her anger breakdown scenes was soo powerful . Their chemistry was lovely . Alia looked very pretty all through the film in her traditional saree outfit. Ranveer singh however looks awful in scenes where he lip-syncs romantic songs like tum kya mile but otherwise his energy was par high and his comic time is impeccable . BGM was also amazing , cinematography is a treat to eyes , an visual grandeur specially in the songs . Production design was top notch . All and all this film as an whole is a package and is for all the ages , there is no barrier for this Kjo family entertainer . It was great to see soo many veteran actors like Dharamendra Ji , Shabana Azmi Ji , Jaya Bacchan Ji all in a single frame .The climax just gets you emotional to the core , Dharmendra sir just touches our heart .

Heartwarming Love Story - Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani

Karan Johar's RARKPK is an complete family entertainer with drama, emotion, colourful sets, multi cast , lovely locations , good music & mind-blowing performance from every actor, especially Ranbir Singh and Alia Bhatt with a great message that keeps the audience thoroughly engaged.

To begin with, Rocky ( Ranveer Singh) and Rani ( Alia Bhatt) fall in love & try to bring their families together and overcome their cultural differences. The plot of the reunion gets a twist with the introduction of a family swap. How Rocky & Rani help their parents in getting over the cultural prejudices forms the rest of the story.

Ranveer and Alia are in supreme form. Their chemistry is sizzling .The two most talented actors of their generation, bind the film together almost effortlessly. Ranveer is very energetic throughout the film living the character, that’s very close to his real self. Alia Bhatt is the soul of the movie and she aces the role with flying colors.

Dharmendra & Shabana Azmi brings about the laughter moments, whereas Jaya Bachchan makes her presence felt. The other supporting cast Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog, Anjali Anand, Namit Das, Churni Ganguly, Tota Roy Choudhary, and Abhinav Sharma among others do well in their respective roles.

The movie successfully delivers genuine humor, with some funny dialogues to lift the atmosphere whenever the pace dips. The film’s highlights is the commendable chemistry between the lead characters and the use of old classics in the narrative is skillfully executed. The focus on feminism is commendable.

Karan Johar's return to direction after seven years since Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He redesigns his signature space of family drama where on can learn to live with each other’s imperfections.

Overall RARKPK is a heartwarming love story set against the backdrop of complex family dynamics. Definitely it's a movie to watch out in the cinemas near you.

The Karan Johar has been on the Bollywood power list for almost a quarter of a century. His dad's banner Dharma production remains one of the biggest banners of the Hindi Film industry, but for a while, there was some negativity getting attached and he was not exactly at his peak. Today after watching the romantic family drama-Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, I am convinced he is back with a bang. The film has a familiar love story of two opposites Ranveer and Alia, whose families-the Punjabis and Bengalis are even more opposite. How they end differences and succeed in their love story is what this hit film is all about. The film borrows heavily from plots and subplots of Saudagar, 2 States, Bhansali's vision, Beta, Mohabbatein, Barjatya's family sagas, Yash Raj locales, Vikki Donor and Karan Johars own K3G. However, it is KJO's stamped treatment which makes the film loveable. Performances wise Ranveer and Alia are in the top slot and so are veterans Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. The other star cast of Ranveer and Alia's parents are perfectly cast. Only, I somehow didn't like Jaya Bahaduri's strict mom's rather negative role which had traces of Dina Pathak's old Khubsurat, Aruna Irani's Beta and Amitabh's Mohabbatein and K3G. The music could have been better. Apart from that the film is all that we love about big Bollywood films-romance, family scenes, comedy, emotional scenes and everything larger than life. The usage of old Hindi film songs and backgrounds is something everyone will love. I have not been a KJO fan as such but personally, this is the second film of his after Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which I liked so much. Overall, in his 25th year, Karan Johar made a really good film doing great business as well!

India, a land of varied cultures, traditions and lifestyles has been a great example of unity in diversity across the world. While one may say that progressive globalization over the years is largely instrumental in bringing us closer from practical perspective, the basic physics definition of ‘opposites attract’ has equally been a driving factor. Film makers and novel writers have time and again woven human emotions onto the above aspects to bring out interesting, entertaining, and realistic stories.

Rocky and Rani ki Prem Kahani begins with a similar premise. Rocky Randhawa(played by Ranveer Singh) hailing from a hardcore West Delhi ‘Sweets Baron’ family, bumps into Rani Chatterjee(Alia Bhatt), a TV news anchor from an Elite Bengali household in South Delhi. Though their initial meeting is related to a past family connection, the stark contrast between both personalities draws them towards each other. They reach up to a point where it becomes essential to involve their respective families before taking their relationship to the next level.

Hereon the film progresses seamlessly through ‘broader issues’ from an overall societal perspective, not restricting only to people from different backgrounds. The narrative does move steadily, but takes its time in establishing the connect effectively and transitions well towards the end.

Visually, the art design(Sharmishta Roy & team), costumes(Eka Lakhani) and cinematography(Manush Nandan), FX(FutureWorks, Media) are all top notch. There is a slight reminiscence of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grandeur at a few places.

Pritam’s songs topped up by Amitabh Bhattarcharya’s lyrics are quite soulful. Of all, Jhumka and Dhindora Baaje stand out both as melodies and from a picturization point of view.

Screenplay and dialogues by Shashank Khaitan and Ishita Moitra are the crux of the film. While the story takes progressive yet small steps in addressing casual othering / shaming as part of surroundings, it doesn’t endorse cancel culture either. This is taken care of even in the situational comic scenes. Having said that the film isn’t completely devoid of pretentiousness & cliche at few instances. The use of pop culture references from Hindi cinema of 60s to 90s are quite endearing.

Performance wise, Ranveer Singh is his usual self – loud, entertaining & radiating exuberance thereby merging his reel & real self. Alia Bhatt brings in the required depth & mindfulness to the screen and excels in her part. Tota Roy Chowdhary, Churni Ganguli and Aamir Bashir do well in their respective roles. Kshiti Jog, Anjali Anand and Namit Das provide adequate support.

Veteran actors Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan have a strong screen presence but probably deserved better characterization. Even the legendary Dharam ji’s role probably doesn’t do enough justice to his persona & iconic stature. Ideally, director Karan Johar should have personally worked on this aspect.

On the whole, Rocky & Rani Ki Prem Kahaani is a brave attempt to convey the necessity of breaking barriers & being non-judgmental for an equanimous society to evolve amidst the chaos we live in.

Can easily be called one of the better & socially relevant films to be churned out from Karan Johar’s kitty, and worth a watch.
