One of the best collections of essays

This book was highly recommended by one of my friends. Written by the Nobel prize winning journalist, Albert Camus, this book has one of the best collection of essays I have ever read. The bulk of essays in this book are all based on Camus’s work as a journalist.

Camus has discussed in detail the gut wrenching impact of War. He has emphasized on the fact that innocent lives are lost as a result of revolutions or cold war.

Camus’s journalistic works on Algerian revolution, Soviet Union cold war, are absolutely well researched and will surely give you the goose bumps. The arguments offered by him against legalized killing in the name of war are plausible and powerful. His writing is compelling and thought provoking. I would surely recommend this book, as well as other books by Camus, like The Myth of Sisyphus and The Rebel.
