May 27, 2017 02:42 PM 866 Views (via Android App)

I visit Rail Museum in Forsoe Road and for entry their is a entry fee which was written Rs.5 bt they take Rs.10. After that when I get entry there was nothing only 5trains in which 1 is of to travell by VIP's and more 4 are standing . We can seat over there bt the security guard alwasy says the couple that it is a museum not the gardern so u can't take selfies where both are presents.Bt one can take bt I didn't understand why this had been said. For Rs.10 I had seen only 5trains which I see every day and a demo of howrah bridge and railway station which I can see from Howrah bridge.

I was born and brought up in Kolkata. I have spent 26 years of my like in Kolkata - The city of joy. I started with my first job in Kolkata wher I have to do every day up and down travelling in Kolkata's local train. To go to my office, I had to get down at Howrah railway station. Most of our friends meet on Saturday evening used to be at Howrah rail museum which is just adjacent to Howrah railway station.

I was really fascinated to visit Howrah Rail Museum for the first time by exploring the history of our first and old railway models. By visiting this museum, we can really feel proud that during British time and immediately after its independence India had great revolutionary change in railway services which supposed to be the largest and finest railway of those times. The railway models in the museum describes its epic and historic achievements. The operating system. model base, machinery and other plethora are well described and elaborated. You will be able to evaluate the difference between present day railway operations and module with the earlier and traditional ones. Hardly you will find such huge collection of railway historic achievements anywhere in the world. I had been to the museum almost 40 to 50 times.

Moreover, if required, one can ask for guide who are well trained professional under railway authorities to help you to visit and explore the museum. You don.t even need to pay them and they also do not ask for any benefit or incentive sort of.The only thing is that you should have enough time to see the entire museum and to enjoy it. One should go in the evening as day time is pretty hot. Avoid Sundays because of huge rush of tourists.

Even students of technical backgrounds should visit the place as a study tour and currently railway bodies had proposed some blueprint to include the museum under approved educational institutions study tour assignments without affecting the decorum and site of the museum. The visitors has increased by around 23 per cent in last two years. The only thing of concern is the cleanliness in the nearby place of the museum because of huge rush which should be resolved to maintain the legacy of the place.
