Imagine if you are
a peace loving creature who finishes a hectic day, rush back home with a hope to
have a cup of coffee, quite dinner and
ample sleep. But if you aren’t lucky like me you must be staying with a bunch
of young gen X rather Y Z lads who eat breath sleep music “Rock Type”. What
happens next ? You end up writing a review on the most happening Generation
“Yo” music.
Statutory warning : This is purely a music review nothing else and
purely my style.
Film: "Race" : Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty : Lyricist:
Sameer : Singers: Sunidhi Chauhan, Neeraj, KK, Shaan, Apache Indian,
Taz, Atif Aslam, Monali Thakur.
(Songs are in order of reviewers choice)
Dekho Nashe Main: No kick at all
KK and Sunidhi Chauhan performance in the song,
surprisingly will not bring any “Suroor”
to you. It feels like it has been forcefully framed in line with other disco’s
numbers in KJ’s movies. It’s stale and even stress on “rock, rock, rock” word of the song fails to rock tiniest strand of
your body. This song is an unsuccessful attempt to keep all the number peppy.
My Rating: One star, for the music similar to a whisky ad’ and compellingly written https://lyrics.
Mood :Capability of spoiling any mood so don’t try.
Mujh Pe To Jadoo : Bearable but not exceptional
Remember “Apache Indian”?
Yes, he still exists. After singing for punjabi movies and releasing his album “Sadhu” with other singers, he helps
begin the song ‘Mujh Pe To Jadoo’with his rap. But song still belongs to popular “stereo nation dude” “Taz”... He has done justice to the song
to keep it desirable at marriages & college annual function and soft family
parties. Taz has lucratively maintained their trademark singing with similar
pitch of the song and same old variations in voice. Somewhere you will hear a
familiar voice don’t try to recollect it’s our own “Sunidhi Chauhan” who sings just eight lines in the whole song. This
is the only song of the album which is not remixed. You will agree “its weird”
after listening to the song.
My Ratings: Two star for the bhangra beats and Taz, lyrics bearable.
Mood: Marriages;College annual fest
Zara Zara Touch Me – Touched and Titillated
Now its turn of the hip shaking club number this might take
you on a seduction flight. Thanks to fresh slothful intense voice of Monali Thakur (Indian Idol Fame) which
breaks the monotony and “Asian RnB Remix” of the same song will last long in
discothèques. . This is a prospective chartbuster number and can remind your
favorite western singers.
My Ratings: Three and a half star for Monali Thakur & sensual music beats.
Mood : Party,Fun,Disc,Pubs,Weekends.
Pehli Nazar Mein : Romantic Realizations
Another treat for lovers of Atif Aslam and as always the dude has surpassed all expectation.
You can listen to this one, thousand times and thirst still remains unquenched.
With the blessed voice harmonizing the lyrics of the song, this one calls for
love, romance and emotions. With soothing guitar in the background and intense
voice of Atif’s , all you have to do is to arrange a surprise candlelight
dinner for your lady love and trust me, she will fall in love all over
again.(Don’t try singing though). And this will be in unforgettable list of
many.
My Ratings: Fivestar for the Singer, Music and https://lyrics.
Mood: Love,Romance,Cuddling,Kissing
Race Saanson Ki:Race
is on my mind
The title song beats all the other numbers and projects the
movie plot well. Sounds of electric guitar and provoking powerful beats
titillates you and pushes you to the dance floor even if you are born with two
left leg’s. This is already a chartbuster and burning discotheque top list.
Both the hindi “Race Sansoon ki”and english “Race
is on my mind” succeeds in pumping similar energy in you and stress on “Allah Duhai Hai” acts as a garnishing to the song and Neeraj Sridhar has delivered it well
with Sunidhi leading as usual.
My Rating: Four stars for the energy booster.
Mood: Adventurous,Party,Rock,Speed rides.
The Music Director and the Lyricist
Pritam, the music director, who himself
has raised our expectation by some really good albums like Life in a Metro.. (I just love the album) and Jab we metin 2007.
“Race” a thriller movie after Naqaab (another one with Pritam’s music direction) cannot be termed as timeless. But with
three good numbers (Race Title song, Pehli Najar and Zara Zara) out of five I
would rate his music this time with 3 stars and hope he creates a magic again
with better classics.
Sameerthe well known lyricist, it seems
has done his share of work in a forceful environment Lyrics aren’t exceptional,
music covers up for most of the numbers’ except “Pehli najar main” none other are worth listening to carefully. I
wouldn’t even want to rate him as he is a good writer who has failed to deliver
in pressure.
Overall
not worth investing money in buying the CD until an unless you are a average
buyer who believes in collecting one out of every two cd’s.
