Queensland, Theme Park Chennai Reviews

Worst experience @queensland.
Jun 02, 2011 02:59 AM 28503 Views

May 29th we visited queensland theme park @ Chennai, where we found it was like market. All the people visiting the place started having their lunch on the aisle way itself and making it a worst place to enjoy. Beach waters are very nasty & they allowed many people to enter the park without any concerns.

The canteen is so worst in park and we didn't have proper canteen facilities to cater the need of many people.

Today, I visited Queensland I kept all our belongings in the Locker they gave with the Lock they gave; I kept the key with me for playing water games after locking. We played water games for 1 hr, when we returned to our locker, our locker was opened we saw all our belongings scattered in different places and our 3  mobiles, digicam, my purse  with my Pan Card, my debit cards and cash around 500 Rs was missing. We also found the LOCK which I locked, it was not tampered or broken, which means the lock has been opened with another KEY. How the Thief got the KEYS?

When I enquired the Queensland people they are not speaking responsibly.

Instead of answering me, they started to blame me saying that I would have not locked the Lock properly. I know 100% that I locked it properly.

When I asked them to give that I lost my belongings in their premises in written, they are telling that we cannot do that, they are not telling any valid reason for that.

THINK WHAT IS THE POSSIBILITY, WHEN I KEPT MY BELONGINGS IN THEIR LOCKER WITH THE LOCK GIVEN BY THEM AND ALSO WE FOUND LOCK IN GOOD CONDITION NO TAMPERING.

PLEASE ADVISE ME ON THIS

The entry fee for Adult is 350 INR and for Child it is 250 INR. Kids less than 2 feet are not charged anything. On paying the fee, the visitors are provided with a water proof and wither proof band which they should wear on their hand throughout the stay on the park.

One can park their vehicles in the parking space allotted to them. Parking charges are separate.

A pamphlet having the ride and timing details is also given to the guest.

The guests are welcomed by a welcoming team consisting of some officials, clowns and they get a welcome drink. There are many signboards and park employees who guides the guests. The entire park are spawns over 300 acres.

There are totally 51 rides overall. Out of them 33 are for adults and 18 are for Children. However few children can go in adult rides with adults company. And few adult rides are restricted for persons with heart ailments, pregnancy. The rides include both water and dry rides. The following are the few rides which are the highlights of the park. Free fall - guests are made to fall freely from a height of 300ft.Roller CoasterCable Car- 30 minute ride.Simulation Theater.Octopus.The great Himalayan Water Ride.Bumper Car.Alpen Blitz.Centrix.Mirror House.Queens Land Fairy Train

The park is open from 10 am to 5.30 pm on weekdays and 10.00 am to 6.30 pm on weekends and government holidays. The park will remain closed on Mondays for maintenance. The water rides in the park will function only from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.

Persons under alcohol influence are strictly not permitted inside the park.

Separate swimming pools are available for Gents and Ladies.

The visitors can get excellent food( both Veg and Non. Veg) within the park at very nominal cost. Many drinks and juice stalls are also available.

Clothing can be purchased from the counters for water rides.

They don't provide cloak or locker facility to guests. However you can rent a 1x1x1 feet locker for 2 hrs by paying a refundable deposit of 200 INR in wet games area. But for the other rides one has to carry all his belongings with him or leave it some place at his own risk, which makes it a tough task.

Have a day, Go to Queensland

Situated on the rajaram mohan roy road on the way to Sri Peramputhur, Queensland is an amuesement park in the outskirts of chennai.

There are no proper bus facilities as far as we could see around the park. Since we went in a group of 7, we booked a sumo from tambaram and reached here after an hours' drive( depends on traffic) at 11:00 a.m.

There s no parking charge. The cost of an Adult Ticket is Rs.350 and a Child s ticket is Rs.250.

As soon as u enter the park, u r greeted by dwarf clowns, The first ride is the free fall which goes to a height of and falls down suddenly. The other common rides are tora tora, roller coaster etc. Some other rides are centrox etc All these rides can be completed by 2.00p.m.

We can have lunch at the restaurants present inside the park.

At the end we find the Himalayan Water Ride and water games. The Himalayan Water ride is a ride in which 6 ppl go in an air filled rubber tube over which plastic seats are arranged.

Then there is an american wave pool where artificial waves are generated. There are also two artificial water falls, one for men and other for women. The changing rooms and rest rooms are pretty decent. The water slide and tube can be used any number of times. Mats and tubes for both are available near the pool which have to be carried by the guests.

There are fun house, mirror house and dark house which provide humour  to all.

At the end, there is a rope car which gives a good overview of the whole of queensland.

A train goes all through Queensland which starts at 6:00p.m and leaves u at the entrance by 7:00p.m.

All in all its a very good place to spend time with family or friends.

However, make sure u go in group of even nos cos most of the rides require u to go in pairs. For Himalayan water ride, u go in group of 6. The odd person has to couple wit someone else or has to go alone for rides which require pairs of ppl.

New Unfair rules
Oct 02, 2009 05:37 PM 27923 Views

While the attractions itself are nice with an entry price of Rs 350, the new rule of not allowing food inside is quite a rip off. Not to mention the added cost of the same, the quality of food leaves much to be desired. Why the new rule to force people into buying food?

Yes many theme parks abroad do the same but then the price & quality of food provided are worlds apart not to mention the context. Any of the less well off who previously could manage entry will certainly think again before venturing here. But then again, maybe this is what the management actually wants! It has been a while since any new rides have been added.

It seems that the management seems to find not much need to keep service quality up with after all so little to choose from in he Chennai theme park scene. So while you can go prepared for some fun rides also be prepared for an emptying of your pocket especially if you are in a large group.

Good Fun - Nice way to spend a day with the family

Queensland Theme Park is located on the Chennai-Bangalore Trunk Road about 25 km from Kathipara Junction(Guindy) in Chennai. Based on the traffic conditions in Poonamallee, it takes about 30 mins from this junction. The price for a day(10 AM to 7 PM) is Rs 350/- which includes all rides and you don't have to pay anything extra for any ride. You are given a map to negotiate your way around the park and all the rides are quite accessible by walking around the pathway. A band with numbers listed is tied around your wrist and it is marked everytime you take a particular ride.

About the rides, there are atleast 20 which you can enjoy and there are few more for little kids. You are first greeted with the Free Fall Tower and then followed by a couple of roller coaster rides which are quite good. You also have a cable car which goes a long way and you get a good aerial view of the entire park including a small lake where you can go on a boat trip. Lunch can be had at the small restaurants(veg/non-veg) inside the park while I personally felt that you can carry a small home made lunch box. The park is neat and well maintained.

The Water rides were really enjoyable and you can get a locker for 2 hrs(security deposit Rs 150/-) and also shorts and swimsuits for a reasonable price. The Himalayan ride is a must for anybody and you can liesure out at the American wave pool which is a huge swimming pool with artificial waves.

There are other attractions like a 3d show ride, mirror house which can cover your time till 6-7 PM in the evening.  All in all, it's good clean fun and a nice way to spend time with your family.

Things to keep in mind

  • Try to reach the park  by 10.30 AM so that you can have get to spend the whole day worth for your money and enjoy all the rides

  • Carry just a small bag or pouch so that you need not worry about where to keep those heavy luggages during a ride.

  • A towel, shorts, swimsuit is handy but you can also get them for a price.

  • Drink water to avoid dehydration and use sun tan lotion.
