Service guy created problem that never existed
Aug 26, 2009 07:39 PM 2747 Views

I own a Philips DVD Player which is out of warranty but is just 3 years old.

When the player's eject button stopped working due to which I started to use the manual procedure to take out the disc. One fine day, oen of teh disc got stuck inside the player and the tray couldn't close. Hence I called for the Philips service guy.

Within minutes, he resolved the issue (happy) but in the process I dont know why he needed to open the lens of the player. After fitting it back, the player doesnt work and shows error as "No Disc". The service guy tells me that the lens of teh player is damaged which was not the case earlier.

Obviously, the guy had himself damaged it puposely in order to make money and wanted me to pay up Rs.900 for replacing it with a new lens when the player itself was worth Rs.2000. I called up the service centre multiple times to complain about the guy but to no avail. Finally, I gave up and bought a new LG player. Vouch for never buying a Philips product again.
