Patanjali desi cow ghee market price is around Rs500 per litre
Lets discuss some fundamentals
Desi cow milk has 4% fat ie for every 100ml 4 grams fat, ie for 1000ml, we get 40 grams of fat
Final conclusion
1 litre of milk= 40 grams of fat
25 litres of milk= 25* 40= 1000 grams of fat= 1kg of ghee
One litre cost of desi cow milk= 100Rs/litre Raja Sekhar Bandaru's answer to Where do you buy A2 milk from, and at what price?
25 ltres of milk cost Rs 2500
Now all cows dont produce 4% fat
Even if a cow produces 4%, it will not be constant in its whole milking period. Milk quantity and fat% follows Gaussian curve
It varies from 3% to 4% So roughly 30 to 35 litres of milk is needed
So actual cost should be between 3000 to 3500
For argument sake, lets assume that milk s from non-desi breeds
In that case, cost of milk is Rs22/litre at farmer door step
25 litres x 22= 500 per kg
Here logistics to transport milk, heating, labour, packaging charges, logistics to transport ghee to retail outlets are to be added
So cost should be much greater than Rs500
