I am not particularly loyal when it comes to buying hair products such as shampoo and conditioner, I generally just tend to buy whatever is on special offer. While recently looking round the Poundland in my local town, I came across Argan Oil Conditioner. I do not generally read beauty magazines and my beauty regime is actually pretty simple but I have always hard that argan oil is good for your hair so decided I would give this product a try.
Argan oil has apparently been used by Moroccans for many years to treat skin diseases and as an oil for nourishing skin and hair. Argan oil is extracted from the Argan tree which is native to South west Morocco. Argan oil is known to contain vitamin A and E and has a reputation as being an excellent mouisturiser for both hair and skin so to me, it kind of make sense that this ingredient would be used in a conditioner. I always thought argan oil products were expensive so I was surprised to see it on the shelves in Poundland for (obviously) a pound!
Argan oil conditioner comes packaged in a tube with a flip top lid. It does tend to stand out on the shelves as they packaging is brown and green. My tube of conditioner I have contains 250ml. All the usual information is written on the packaging such as an ingredients list and product information. It states that this product helps to rejuvenate and rehydrate hair, helping to leave it shiny, smooth, healthy and manageable.
The argan oil conditioner is a creamy white colour and has quite a thick consistency, almost like a cream rather than a conditioner. It smells quite pleasant too although it is quite a subtle smell and smells light and sort of earthy.
The conditioner is very easy to squeeze out of the bottle, probably due to the design of the bottle and the fact it is stored upside down. I wash my hair every other day and usually condition it with every wash as my hair does tend to feel dry after shampooing. To use, I simply squeeze a small amount of the conditioner out, usually a bit about the size of a 50p piece as I have quite long hair. I run the conditioner through the end of my hair and through the last 3-4 inches of it. It states on the bottle that the conditioner should be left on the hair for between three and five minutes. As I rub the conditioner through the ends of my hair, I can feel my hair change from feeling quite dry after being shampooed to feeling silky smooth as the conditioner works its magic. After 3-5 minutes, I wash the conditioner out and am left with silky smooth, hydrated hair. As I mentioned earlier, my hair is quite long and can often be knotty after being washed but after using this agan oil conditioner, I have definitely found that my hair is much easier to brush after being washed.
In summary, I would highly recommend this product. I think it is an absolute bargain at only £1 for a 250ml bottle and I love the way it leaves my hair feeling. I always thought argan oil products were expensive so when I saw this for just £1, I must admit I didn’t think it would be very effective so I have to report that I was very pleasantly surprised at just how good this product is. It leaves my hair soft and rehydrated and more importantly, really easy to manage after washing.
