North Star Hotel, Kolkata

Comfortable bed to sleep after having tasty food along with beer. All necessary things available near the hotel as it seems to be in the market place. Clean and hygenic ambiance. The owner is a gentleman. You can expect very humble behaviour from the staffs. Comparatively cheap and well connected with railway, metro and airport. It can be a good shelter in Kolkata if you are an outsider. Safe and secure. You can find all kind of vehicles from the door-step for travelling anywhere in Kolkata.

First thing I must say.The Pic is not of this hotel.

Good hotel near airport to spend a night before flying.

Its only half km from Metro Rail too.

Cheap rates for both Room and food.

AC room is just Rs700/- ha ha.AC works really well, had to use a blanket in summer.

Good clean Resturant and Bar. Service is very good.

Rooms are clean.But the TV is small.

Only thing to do is have plenty of food(since its cheap but clean) and sleep.

I have noticed a few pictures of wild life and mountains on the reception. Good ones.

The reception desk is helpful.

The road outside is very busy, though you can get every type of transport from taxi to auto ricshaws and buses. It took me only half an hour to get to parkstreet, the best place in kolkata. It did cost me only Rs6/- on the metro- unbelieveable

I had to catch a flight the next day at 6am. I was very happy to see a taxi waiting for me at 4.30am on the hotel door. All in all a good experience. You really get what you pay for, not the 3 star kind of expi where you pay more than what u are offered.
