The New India Assurance co ltd is the largest an the oldest non life insurance company with more than 1100 operating offices and a pioneer among Indian companies, insuring the first domestic airline to satellite with an array of product and having its head office at Mumbai. It is India's largest Non life Insurance company, they believe in financial security as their prime concern.


They have best claim settlement team, if the claim settlement team is not performing good the complain can be easily given to the branch offices. they have perfectly trained staff recruitment. Premium if minimal as required it is financial friendly service. Due to it best caim settlment people need this New india services.


Their plan ranges till 1crore for health insurance and other insurance like miscellenious insurances depends on the type and product itself.

New India Assurance Car Insurance seems a big scam where they are attracting customer by providing cheaper quotes. Once customer buys the insurance and when it comes to a claim their customer care number is not even picked up by any one. My car has been hit by someone and I have been trying to contact them for past 5 days to get a surveyor. This is really frustrating. I would never ever suggest to buy any insurance from such a fraud insurance company.

The staff or new india assurance general insurance is too lazy, they are not active, if you are going to take policy from this company than you have to face many problems.


No one solution they give you right there, they always said write application and come after 2 days, after two days your work as same as you left before two days.


Then they will said senior is absent so this happened.


Sign verify pending etc.


They even mistake some spellings and corrections not allowed there I thought, for correction they will be spend your full week.

Worst service of this New India Assurance company, my wife got admitted and the same day I informed TPA.


After operation I had submitted all the documents to TPA. but never get my claim.


Every time I called TPA he asked me more documents, I arranged the same but no result.


I arrange all the documents as per the first mail I received, but every time I called them they put a new requirement. I ask them to arrange a physical verification for this claim but my TPA refuse the same and reject my claim.


After getting fed-up with this process and attitude I put a mail after two moths to return my all documents.


I will never recommend any one for the New India Assurance company.

I have bought iPhone insurance from new india assurance. I lost my phone after few months and not they are not responding. It has been months that I have submitted all documents but now no response. Do not buy phone insurance from them. At Maple store they are selling their insurance hard.by making all false promises. They are very good at the time of selling the insurance but pathetic while settling the claim.

I am an NRI an my Father was recently admitted to hospital in India. He was detected with cancer tumor.


When we claimed the insurance they first denied on the basis of having addiction for smoking and drinking, however my father in his lifetime had never smoked or drink.


After they were proven wrong the company still rejected the claim on the basis of Genetic disease.


We are been paying mediclaim premium since so many years on regular and timely manner, still they deny on a false and unacceptable reasons.


I would request all the people please don't fall under the trap on this insurance company.


They are fraud and cheaters.

I inform.u that I had bought car insurance with sbi zero dep. At that time they said u can claim 2 times in year. Ununfortunately my car got accident. I claimed for repair it my first time for claim. Sbi surveyor came any survey my car he said Car to chalti hai dent to lagenge hi and his behaviour was.very rude he does not allow my whole damage he allow only minor work. I bought this insurance 44000 rs but at the time of claim he refuse all my damage. So I am suggesting u nobody will buy SBIcar insurance. Its a third class insurance.

The new India assurance company limited a well established general insurance company. Founded by Sir Dorabji Tata in 1919, owned by Govt., this company is functioning almost in 28 countries. This company still a leader in general insurance sector in india. Global business of this company is Rs.18371 Cr. And its domestic business is Rs 15149.50 Cr in 2014-15.


NIA provide all type of non life insurance to individual, corporate and industries. Broadly there are five categories of non life insurance: 1. Personal insurance 2. Commercial insurance 3. Industrial insurance 4. Liability insurance 5. Social insurance. NIA provide their services in all above mention categories. NIA provide best & cheap health care plan to individual. NIA is very good% in health claim settlement. Claim ratio in 2014-15 around 96%, same as health in motor insurance NIA provide best and cheap plan to individuals, almost 60% discount offered by the company on four wheeler till 5 years to vehicle age don’t panic you can get almost 50% discount for 5 year above aged vehicle. There are lot more offer on commercial vehicle.


Yes, there are very few people, are satisfied from its customer services. No doubt but still NIA dominate GI market just because of its agent, if any customer takes insurance plan via agent than direct. He/she will be happy. This company less invest in marketing and other sales strategies because its biggest assert are its agents, those help company to earn business. So if you have bad experience with this company, please choose good insurance agent of this company.


Yes staff attitude is so rude, again if you are direct customer think yourself orphan child. Because there is no routine checkup to their proficiency in work, they are now just another Govt. offices.


At the end if you go through via agent then you get all type of services at home. If you want to choose it as direct customer then think again. As per my knowledge agents are best option in insurance world in India. They know very bad aspect and good aspect of plan and company.


Imp: don’t buy insurance from NIA employees, As per rule employees of GIC are not eligible to sale insurance but just because their greed they do illegal. These employees put your case in agent agency and take their incentive. if something goes wrong these employees left you in problem, neither employee because he/she doing illegal thing nor agent because he doesn’t get anything.

When they come to sell insurance they will promise you hell lot of benefits of buying their insurance.but when you get trapped in their honey coated wordings then they will sell you something you dint wanted or they will skip few of their promises.


And when you require insurance they will say oh this is not covered in your insurance.& when you argue with them then they say you have to read insurance carefully after buying.i would like to ask how many times they them self read their insurance documents fully.

A "KAAMCHOR" AND UN ORGANIZED COMPANY. ONLY KNOWS HOW TO RECEIVE MONEY. THEY HAVE PROVED THAT THEY ARE THE GOVT UNDERTAKING. TOOOOOOO MUCH LAZYNESS. CARELESSNESS. IRRESPONSIBLE.UNPROFESSIONAL.EVEN THE HIGHER OFFICIALS ARE LIKE ILLITERATE PEOPLE.


I DONT KNOW HOW THIS ORGANIZATIONS IS SURVIVING.   THEY SEEMS TO BE LIKE 1960`S COMPANY. MOST WORST COMPANY ON THE EARTH.


IT TOOK ME 59 CALLS TO GET THE SURVEY REQUEST .THE SURVEY STILL NOW DONE.


NO CARE FOR CUSTOMER.

I been part of health insurance field since 5 years, I always prefer our clients to go with New india because the responce which we get.


yeah I understand the time they take to issue the policy especially the GMC will be a longer but the claim settlement is much faster than any other insurance.


they keep simple they donot have any other standerd co pay if we take any insurance that is the best part.


I recomend to my clients and my friends to use new india. especially I belive if we take any personal insurance or savings we should go with public sector which is cleaver and better thing to do.

I have taken Marine Transit Insurance Policy form New India Assurance Co. Ltd.  in respect of transportation of my house holding goods from Siliguri to Manipur just for Rs.900/- for sum assured of Rs. 1, 50, 000/-.


Unfortunately, I have received most of the goods in damaged condition.


When I have contacted the insurance company regarding this loss, the company has responded very quickly and compensated the most of my loss without putting unnecessary terms and conditions.  The staff of the company are very polite and helpful.  I am very much happy about the service of the company.

It services is very good. Some time we need to give some proofs .


The claim settlement service is fast as I already used in last year.


It was cashless facility


I have faced no problem regarding services.


Hoapital give me instruction that we will give only that much amount to you but after call to paramount and ask them to give all money whatever bill given by hospital. So they agreen thats why I said itsa good service.

One of the most underrated insurance company.I suggest please do not take car insurance from this bajaj. I had a car insurance, and when I had a car accident and made a claim, the surveyor approved barely anything.


They were very rude and not at all co operative.


My claim was close to 30k( 50% ), they approved it for 11k. When I asked for the reason they said its solely their decision. Overall I had no use of taking the policy at all.I had a worst experience.


I recently purchased a insurance policy for my car, the sales commitment about the policy and the actual policy terms were different. I pointed out the same a month ago there was response or action. Dont ever take policies from new india assurance general insurance.

It is really dis-heartening to say that such an esteemed insurance Co.has employees with no professional attitude.This relates to the Co's Vasai Branch Office(Dist-Thane, Mumbai). A certain deveolpment officer remains absent all the time and leaves us customers high and dry.


Also an employee Mr.Hermon Mathias doesnt know how to behave with female clients. While I was at the office regarding my policy work due to absentism of the development officer the work was forwarded to Mr. Mathias and instead of politely telling me the next process "yelled at me in front of everyone" and also used "un-ethical slang language".


This was really embarassing for me. The employees have no professionalism and need a major revival, especially like Mr.Hermon Mathias who should know how to talk to female clients and not yell at them in public. Disgusting!


Decent optimum service from New India Assurance

My family having ahealth insurance of The New India Assurance Co. Ltd capping Rs.1.5 L for senior members. My father got admitted in one of its networked hospital to avail cashless facilities. As it was an uncertain mishap for my family, so the admission was instant and unplanned. TPA was(Heritage Health TPA Pvt. Ltd) mere helpful and gave service in prompt. Network hospital has to make communication always updated with TPA for smooth documentation/process and resolutions.


1/ Network hospital was optimal and cooperative but greedy too( as you know how private hospitals do the greedy buiness!)


2/ ASAP you get admission contact your agent and TPA and update them all.


3/ Keep followup with the hospital's Mediclaim desk so that they dont make any delay to process the documentation, as and when TPA required any such docs, they shiuld deliver the same to expedite the process of cashless and post hospital reimbursement.


4/ After hospital discharge, communicate the same to TPA and submit later requried ddocuments for rest of amt reimbursement.


5/ Our hospital made a bill of Rs.50, 000, out of which 40k TPA paid instantly and rest 10k I had paid to the hospital to get a discharge of my patient. Later, with in 15 days I had to submit post hospital bills for reimbursement of rest Rs.10k amount; as per my policy and condistion later(after 35 days) I has recceived Rs.4000. Therefore, out of 50k I have received benefit of 44k and I had paid from my pocket Rs.6000.


Overall, experience with New India Assurance was decent/reliable and satisfactory as a part of being Got. organization!

Pathetic customer service and pathetic staff

Today I visited your office located in dwarka sector five, and I'm disappointed beyond limit with the way you treat your customers.I interacted with one of your employee whose name was "priyanka bhalla". What noob level employees have you been employing lately?


I went to the office at around 1:20 and asked her to transfer the policy of a previous owner of my car to my name. She told that I will be charged Rs.1500 for that and then I told her that I will get the cash withdrawn from an ATM nearby and after I withdrew the amount I came back at around 1:25 and told her to kindly transfer the same and do all formalities. But she told that now it is her lunch time and she told me to wait for 20 minuites, I was okay with that. She took her tiffin and was having the lunch with her coleagues in the office itself. She was done with the lunch within 10 minutes and after that she started gossiping with her coleagues knowing a customer is waiting to get his work done. And she came back to her desk at 2:06. 6 freaking minutes late.She showed 0 level of courteousness. I was almost pissed off by then and then to put the icing on Another 15 minutes went by and I was sitting like a fool. Then and there I decided to hell with your company and I took the old insurance papers back and went straight home.


Its a suggestion to your company that if you do not want to loose your customers then kindly stop hiring these old aged lazy bimbos to your company.


Having said that in future I will not recommend any person to opt for your services.


Plus, I'll share the same feedback on various other consumer review platforms.

Medi Assist India TPA of New India Assurance

I had called in Medi Assist for assistance on pre auth claim # 7582087 for MA ID: 4008287214 that was submitted by hospital for emergency for New India Assurance Insurance policy, which was delayed to action by Medi Assist team, as was they were awaiting information for query.


I had called in Medi Assist team 4 times asking for update and informed that requested documented was faxed 4 times with successful fax confirmation. However, Sunil Iyer (Medi Assist Team) claimed that they did not receive faxes that were sent; he was courteous and was well spoken. As I had already send faxes 4 times, I did request for floor manager/ supervisor to fasten process, that is when call was transferred to Harish Muthusway, who claimed to be floor manager but did not display any characteristics that a manager should have while speaking to disappointed customer.


He went to extent of using abusive words when asked for next level escalation as he was not ready to take feedback on their infrastructure. Service provided is pathetic, disappointing, and non-cooperative; please verify staffing over weekends and as well as infrastructure being used i.e., faxes. It’s pretty clear that floor manager/ escalation point doesn’t know how to handle issues, please train your floor manager/ supervisor on customer handling skills and being courteous to callers.  Please note that abusing customers is totally unacceptable.

13 FEB 18 [1] What are the duties of agent towards custome? Is he not suppose to give answers in writing to customer on e mail? [2] what are acts-bye laws-of NIA General insurance with regard to number of days taken for a] acknowledging the receipt of claim papers after it is submitted? b] reporting objections/shortfalls of documents needed in claim papers? c] What is the maximum period in days taken for valid -fully submitted-non objections/shortfall raised, mediclaim of customer, from NIA?
