Las vegas the city of lights
Sep 30, 2016 10:45 PM2792 Views

Enjoy day and night without a stop. Can't forget the days spent in vegas. There are lights and lights everywhere the city which never sleep. The hotels are great with casinos everywhere. We stayed at flamingo situated in the vegas strip costing around 80 dollars per night. Flamingo is a great hotel to stay in the vegas strip other options are also available like Luxor, Paris, The Mirage etc. People there they don't look what the time it is. Every hotel has one casino and all the casinos are interlinked with each other. You can play 24/7. You can also enjoy the night clubs and other clubs. Just carry your credit card and a mobile phone with internet facility otherwise you will be lost. Take the Limo service and don't miss the shows in MGM grand.

Duncan United States
Resort Casinos - Laughlin, NV

Sitting back and watching the sun rise over the mountains while watching the Colorado River flowing by

is a great way to start your morning. We always stay at Harrahs and it's described as a resort not

just a casino. There's an adult tower where the elevator comes right out on the casino floor and right around the corner from the check in desk. The other two towers are for families and adults that don't get reservations in time for the adult tower. There are two pools, one for kids and one for the rest of us over 16. The adult pool has an open bar and hot tub. There's always clean towels and you can even go to the beach by the river. It has a bar too and umbrellas and lounge chairs.

The rooms are always clean and the most we've ever paid for a room is $29.00 plus tax. All of the dealings we've had with the restaurants and service people have been very pleasant. We try to get back at least once a year. When you get there get a players card and the comps start mounting up. Charge everything to your room, (meals, gifts, drinks at the pool) and you'll receive all kinds of offers almost before you get back home. I want to go right now! There are big name shows and other casinos just down the street. Harrah's takes care of the kids too. There's a huge arcade with good security and a McDonalds and Baskin Robbins right outside the arcade door. There's also lots of parking for RV's. They think of everything. We've been to Laughlin all times of the year. Bullhead City Arizona is a five minute drive accross the river. They have a Walmart supercenter if you need supplies. Also, you're a couple of hours drive to Vegas and if you like sight seeing the Hoover Dam is close. There's an abandoned mining town to trek around in with the usual local vendors.

Amazing Yosemite National Park!!

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK

While reading this review please open this link.

https://photos.yahoo.com/nanduchitnis

and look into photoalbum Yosemite, to which I hve added some more pics.

Yosemite National Park is co-located within the borders of the State of California, Nevada and Utah. So it is a biggest National Park in USA.

From the city of San Francisco it is about 7 hours drive.

Brief History

In the late 19th century, hordes of Europeans were attracted to Yosemite by the crazy Gold Rush. But most times they were driven away by the ferocious Indian tribes who lived in this vast area. Finally, the Federal Govt. formed a Battalion of Soldiers to subdue the Native Americans. Having done so, the European Americans started massive logging operations and cut down millions of acres of forestland and turned them into cattle ranches and farms.

John Muir is considered the foremost conservationist in the American History. He lobbied hard with Congress, President Roosevelt and the States of California. In the year 1903, he invited President Roosevelt to Yosemite and pressed home the point to preserve this most magnificent gift of nature for future generations to come.

John Muir succeeded and The National Parks Act was passed. See the first picture on Yahoo! Photos.

All rapacious logging operations were stopped, cattle ranchers were forced out and the entire area was handed back to the Native Americans and the Yosemite National Park Authority rejuvenated the forests and future damage to the Park was stopped.

That was some 100 years ago. I went to Yossie 25 and 26 July 2004.

WHY YOSEMITIE

I have traversed many countries during the course of my career, I have traveled to some magnificent places of Natural beauty in India and abroad. I have no hesitation in ranking Yossie in the top 5! This place looks unreal, like some Hollywood special effects man has done some wonders. Blink 10 times and it dawns on me ………this is for real.

THE NEVADA WATERFALLS AND THE HALF DOME GLACIER

By far the greatest sight in the Park is the Half Dome Glacier and the Nevada Waterfalls, located in the Clarks Ranges. The Glacier is actually a huge Rock, reduced to half its original size by glaciers that sliced away a major chunk of the rock, some millions of years ago. The sight is awesome, magnificent. The ROCK is located at a height of 8000 feet above mean sea level.

There is also a picture of a MAN IN RED. This man climbs the Rock once every year. The way to get to the Rock is to park your car near the Nevada Waterfall and trek to the Rock, some 24 miles. Then from the rear side of the Rock, you can start your mountaineering adventure and climb this Rock! Sounds so easy.

TAFT POINT

The Taft Point is easily reachable because it is located just 2 miles from the car park. Once you get there, the sights are magnifique. The pictures tell the full story. The crevices and ledges are frightfully steep. On a windy day you could get blown away, 8000 feet free fall.

THE LAKE

There is a fresh water lake with a beach located at a height of 5000 feet. The water was not so cold and people were swimming and fishing out there.

THE FORESTS

Most of the drive through the Park is through densely forested area. Some trees are 150 feet tall. Wild life, bears in plenty, fully protected. The Bear can kill you but it is an offence to kill a bear. The forests are a paradise for bird waters, biologists and the rocks of great interest to Geologists.

My Recommendations

Get to San Francisco by Cathay Pacific, Mumbai to SF return costs only Rs 56,000/-. At SF, hire a Harley Davidson or a Dodge pick up truck or any SUV.

Hire camping and trekking gear. Tents, camping bags, Gas, stoves, provisions, water, wines soft drinks. At Yosie there are plenty of camping grounds, available at cheap rates. Plan to stay for not less than a week.

If you travel by car, you need to stay in motels. Cheapest ones cost some $ 100/- per day. Much cheaper to camp than to stay in motels.

Road Map

Go to Yahoo! Maps. Enter your present location, enter your destination….lo behold, you get your route map from SF to Yosie.

There is plenty else to see along the route from SF to Yosie.

QED

Once you have done Yosie, cut your expenses, wish USA good bye and return to Mumbai. Do not waste money and time on silly places like Disney World or Universal Studios.

I plan to do Yosie once again, next year, all alone, my way. My plan is to camp for 4 weeks at Yosie.

We all have heard about Vegas ''A must-see''! So, we finally decided on going to the proverbial land. There are secrets to the best way of getting there, getting around and entertainment!!! We, me and my husband, were on a budget of $2000(including airfare& hotel) for 5 days. We were flying from the east coast in March which is a peak season because of Spring Break, hence the expensive tickets!!! For the hotel, we went for a hotel on the strip, Excalibur opposite MGM Grand. About the hotel, there is nothing much to write home about but it was clean, spacious and prompt service!

Our first two days were mainly spent on the strip...taking tours of all the different hotels. The place is a mecca for gambling but besides that the architecture of different hotels/ casinos is mind-blowing. From gondola-rides in the canal which wraps around the Venetian to the magical interiors of the Caesar's Palace and to sit in one of the little Italian cafe' and watch the world go by...it was just amazing to think what the human mind could come up with and create! Not to miss, the fountain show outside Bellagio!!!

The city is full of live shows in the evenings...we did check out the topless show of 'Jubilee'. I found Jubilee over-rated, wasn't impressed with it and not worth the money. On the other hand, 'Zumanity' another side of Cirque du Soleil was excellent, it had a contemporary vibe with sexual undertones and superb acrobatics!

The third day, we took a helicopter ride to the west rim of Grand Canyon, we flew low over Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Colorado River and upclose in the Canyons. Stopped for lunch in the middle of nowhere and were escorted by an American Indian....the whole experience was great! The fourth day, we took off to an Outlet Mall...20 miles off the strip...the shuttle is available...check with your hotel! I don't think I would have done the trip any differently.

Vegas is advertised as a family vacation also but I would not suggest for the young impressionable minds...in the end, big money does talk but you can stretch ur dollar in that city!

NEVADA-LAKE TAHOE
Aug 28, 2003 12:01 AM3952 Views

Nevada and Lake Tahoe

Nevada borders California. It is the State of Las Vegas, of Casinos of fun and frolic. Lake Tahoe comes in between. In fact the border between the two States runs midway through the waters of the lake. Lake Tahoe is spread over a very large area. It is huge body of water. One can drive around the lake and see it from all sides and from all observation points specially marked for the purpose. As one drives around one has to pass through Nevada. Before entering California again one sees the casinos and hotels and people in a gay and relaxed mood.

This review is essentially a continuation of one on California and describes some more places.

Some Places in California

From north to south of California it is a very long distance. Los Angeles or LA as it is called in Southern California can boast of some Internationally famous rich places of the movie stars, players, rockers and singers. Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Universal Studios, Long Beach, Disneyland and so on. San Diego is another big city and the area borders Mexico and one can just drive out of USA and into Mexico. But we did not visit much of Southern California except such places as Mystery Point, Monterey, Santa Barbara and a Danish hamlet named Solvang near Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is a beautiful city, by the side of the ocean. The beach is big and people go boating, surfing and sailing or parasailing. Miles of park space, wide-open grassy and green near the coast is lovely for spending your leisure time or just relaxing in the open. The weather is so salubrious one does not feel tired even after walking miles. I saw one lady performing four functions at the same time: she had her skates on, she had her Walkman, she was carrying her baby in a snuggly and she was reading something. Perhaps the local Government has a policy of not allowing construction of high rise skyscrapers in seaside resorts like Santa Barbara. This is good policy and the residents welcome such decisions. Also there is no need. In most of the cities in California, the downtown is tastefully illuminated at night and presents a festive look all the time.

The beaches are never dull, always reverberating with activity. All along the beach there are individuals and groups selling paintings, curious, some home made eats and so on. One can observe people doing different things. On the coast of Santa Barbara there are motorboats which take you to the ocean to show whales. The whole trip takes more than about three hours. So if you want to see whales go in a motorboat quite far into the sea where, if you are lucky, you can see whales passing by. Whales swim under water and raise their head up in the air to breathe and go down again with their tail going up and then splashing down. It is an interesting sight to see the whales repeat this cycle.

Monterey

The seaside in Monterey is still more interesting. One thing it has lot more visitors, it is a relatively smaller place than Santa Barbara. There are hillocks on the beach and no big ships; no whaling but people do serf and indulge in para sailing. There is a market close to the beach; one can buy not only souvenirs but all kinds of things from paintings to garments and chocolates; the whole atmosphere is very festive. On the way there is a 17-mile drive through some wooded and garden like areas for one to soak in some great perfect weather and beautiful landscape. Even the drive back home is pleasant most of the way.

Sin City!

I must admit, I never thought I would like Las Vegas but after one trip I was hooked. I've been a total of three times and I LOVE it! There is something for everyone; gambling, dining, sun 'n fun, roller coasters, shopping, nightlife, great shows, and so much more!

My first trip I stayed at the Rio which has spacious rooms, a decent pool area, a fabulous buffet if you don't mind standing in line forever, and a few night clubs for the 20 somethings. It has a great 5 star restaurant called Napa but I thought the food was far too salty and I was not impressed. Every hour at the Rio there is a parade in the sky with floats clad with Elvis impersonators, show girls, and go-go dancers throwing beads to eager spectators. The Rio is not located on the strip so I have not, and will not stay there again. During my frist trip I ended up spending a lot of money on cabs to get to the strip across the highway. However, we did get a good package deal. $300 per person for 3 nights including air from Denver.

I went the last week of July that first time and it was HOT! Fortunately I spent a lot of time indoors shopping and let me tell you, Las Vegas has amazing shopping with great designer shops. Caesar's Palace had a lot to offer...everything from Armani to more affordable stores such as Banana Republic. The decor is imaginative and there are great restaurants to choose from when you need a break. The Venetian also has some nice high end designer shops but not as many as Caesar's Palace.

I saw the Cirque du Soleil show ''O'' at the Belagio which is amazing and worth every penny even if it does cost an arm and a leg! I think I paid around $120 per ticket. I saw their other show ''Mystere'' on another visit. This is a cheaper and smaller production but it is also a great show, although not as impressive as ''O''. If there is one show to see in Las Vegas, ''O'' is the show to see.

The second time I went to Las Vegas was in November and I stayed at New York, New York. I didn't like the layout of the casino at all. I am slightly claustrophobic and this casino felt crowded and I never could figure out which elevator I needed to take to get to my room. I was continually lost and even by the last day of my stay, I was still confused by the layout. The rooms were cute but small. The bathrooms were boring and small. We did get a good package rate though. I think for two people from Denver to Vegas it was $600 for 3 nights and air. Not bad. There are no good restaurants here except for the inexpensive philly steak sandwich vendor. I didn't check out the pool because it was too cold to swim. I spent most of my time hanging out at the Mandalay Bay partying at the nightclub called the Rum Jungle. This is the place to be!

The third time I went to Las Vegas was in May and I stayed at the Luxor. I think the rooms were pricey but I didn't pay so I'm not sure about that. I spent the majority of the time at the pool during the day and I really liked the pool area. There are palm trees in the pool which gives it a really tropical feel. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms are big and inviting. The Luxor has a few nice restaurants. One is a steakhouse with great seafood and steaks. The other is a really good sushi bar. The Luxor is attatched to the Mandalay Bay which I love because this has become my favorite hangout in Las Vegas and will be where I stay on my next trip out. The Mandalay Bay has the House of Blues where I saw BB King on my last trip. It also has a great vodka bar, and a nightclub called the Rum Jungle which you have to see...waterfalls, fire, dancers in the sky. There are some top of the line restaurants here as well with amazing interiors and great food. Check it out!

My husband's business holds a yearly convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Vegas holds a special place in my heart, because that's where I attended most of my grade school years.

At lot has changed in Vegas since I lived there....I think for the better.

When my daddy was transferred to California, we spent our last night in Vegas in a hotel not far from the strip. I can't recall the name of the hotel we were in, but I do have a vivid memory of the Silver Slipper. There was this gigantic slipper all covered with lights, spinning on a pole. I could see this out the window of our hotel room, and I remember watching it for a LONG TIME!

On this trip, my husband and I stayed at the MGM Grand. Our room was fabulous, but we didn't spend much time there. There was so much going on with the convention that we were constantly on the move. The few hours we had to our selves in the evening we spent with friends touring the casinos.

Vegas is very warm this time of year, but that didn't slow us down. We walked all over the Strip, which was lit up like daylight. We actually spent more time in the New York, New York Hotel than the MGM Grand.

We played a few card games and spent a little bit of time on the machines, but there is MORE to Vegas than gambling! There are shows.....many, many flashy shows! There is probably a show for everyone's taste. They are a bit pricey, though. Most of the shows I wanted to see started at $60 per person. David Copperfield was there with his Magic Show, Rita Rudner the Comedian was still there (she was there last year), VH1 Divas was opening the day we left...Sigfried and Roy with their tigers is very popular...Celine Dion is there.....I could list shows and run out of space here, but I think you get the idea.

LIGHT UP YOUR LIFE IN VEGAS!
Mar 08, 2002 12:26 AM4164 Views

I have been to LAS VEGAS so many times I couldn't count them on my finger and toes. The first time I was there when I was 11 years old. There were only 3 hotels on the 'Strip' then. The downtown area was a great place to visit. Until the mid '60's the top Hotels only charged you $16.00USD for each night. If you promised to gamble at least $50.00 a day your room, food and entertainment were free. The only thing you had to pay for was tips and renting a tube to float in the Hotel's pool! The Mob ruled the Town and everything was safe because who would dare to defy them? The 'Mob' is gone, (or at least they're not visible), and Vegas has the crime that all large Cities have. It is still a great place to visit.

From my Father's Detroit days he knew most of the Managers of the major Hotels. After I got married we stayed at the Tropicana, Sands, Caesars Palace and New York,New York. We were staying at the Sands when the United States decided to do their first underground test at 'ground zero', (a half an hour drive from Vegas). Many people left Vegas but we decided to stay. The test was to take place at 2 A.M. so we saw a midnight show and went to the Casino to play black jack until the test was over. What fools we were in our youth! The hotel shook so hard, the water from the pool came over the windows of the hotel, the chandeliers, (above the casino), almost fell down and the final straw was when a man sitting next to me said to the dealer, 'Why have you stopped the game. Get your but moving and deal!''

Vegas has so Apartment and Condo Rentals, Hotels, Motels and RV Parks that there will always be a place that you can stay within your budget. I do suggest you rent a car because, (even in the good old days), walking between one Hotel to the one next door can often be more that 6 blocks.

There are a lot of attractions for you do visit if you don't want to spend your time in a Casino or by the pool.

We have been there in every season. We don't golf but if you do within the Vegas area there are over 30 golf courses. If you visit in the winter you can ski at the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort at Lee Canyon and the Diamond Peak on Mount Rose.

We drove a few miles to see Lake Mead. This is a wonderful place to go for a boat ride, water ski or relax and have a picnic.

You'll never have to look for a place to show. Each major Hotel has a shopping arcade.

THE MALLS:

The Belz Factory Outlet, (on Las Vegas Blvd.), has a lot of shops such as Calvin Klein, Lenox, Nike and Saks Fifth Avenue.

At the Boulavard Mall, (on the Maryland Parkway), you can shop at the Bath & Body Works, Bombay Company, the Disney Store, the Gap and Macy's. We visit here to pick up a few boxes of chocolates at Ethel M. Chocolates. The parking lot is so large once we forgot where we parked, what color our rental car was and the license number. We had to phone the rental company to get the information so the Mall could help us find our car!

The Fashion Show Mall is on Las Vegas Blvd. This is a Mall has the top shops such as Neiman Marcus, J. Crew, Betsey Johnson, Sharper Image and Discovery Channel Store.

THE PLACES I ALWAYS GO TO EAT:

The Stage Deli in Caesars Place has mile high sandwiches. They let you order half a sandwich and that is great because I can't finish the half I order.

You'll find Cafe Trilussa on Las Vegas Blvd. South. They make great pasta but we come here to eat their 'wilted spinach salad'.

The local people and those 'in the loop' know that the Rio Hotel has the best buffet in Vegas. They have buffets at breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. We go for dinner when they serve the Seafood Buffet. You'll find the Rio on Flamingo Road.

We go to The Prime Steakhouse if we want steaks or prime rib roast. It's in the Bellagio Hotel.

For French Food we go to the Le Provencal on the Strip.

There is lot of excellent Asian Restaurants in Vegas. We like Chang's in the Ballys Hotel.

THE ENTERTAINMENT:

Every hotel has shows. The range from French Follies to

well known entertainers. I can't list the shows I've seen

as I'm almost at my 1000 word limit. Also they change so it's better if you found our what will be on when you are

going to Vegas.

SOME THOUGHTS:

From being a gambler’s heaven Las Vegas has turned itself into a Family Vacation Spot. Every member of your Family will find something to do in Vegas.

The Burning Man Experience After Gentleman's Ranch
Sep 03, 2001 05:30 AM4087 Views

A few weeks before our trip, my two friends warned me against some of the things that I will be seeing at Black Rock City, Nevada. Nothing truly prepared me for the surprise and bewilderment I was going to be exposed to. It was going to be a few days packed with action and fun. For those who are not too familiar with Nevada, it's one of the states where prostitution is legalized. Are you thinking about Holland where tax is collected on the brothel workers and owners? No, this is conservative US, but Nevada has long been alone in doing things that will shock your senses. Besides all the casinos that litter the place and all the dance halls for long and bawdy parties, now you can find the urban-born ceremony called Burning Man. Get ready to be shocked and startled for the whole time you are going to be at Burning Man. Every year, thousands of fans, spectators flock to this desert area to participate in the ceremonies culminating in the burning of a tall statue of a man. This is the place where they can recreate themselves in the company of friends. Most of the times, participants, revelers get disguised in characters they would never wear if it was not for this type of party.

How did this ''Burning Man'' idea got started any way?

Back in 1986, a dude named Larry Harvey decided to do something different. He got together with some of his friends who helped him ignite an eight-foot wooden man on Baker Beach in San Francisco. The ceremony continued there without any trouble for several years until the guys were kicked out. They ended up relocating it to Nevada. Black Rock Desert is the area where it has been held since then. This is far away from San Francisco and away from the city of Reno, Nevada. Some people say it is located at about 158 miles of Reno.

Get ready to see people without the trappings of modern civilization.

Leave sensibilities behind: Self-expression is the name of the game

Some people truly get into the idea of the event. They only bring the strict necessary. They come ready to survive the natural elements. If it is not rain, the participants have to reckon with dirt, tumbleweeds rolling onto the sand, and dirt, lots of dirt. Some people don't have to worry about getting dirty since they don't wear anything at all. Please leave behind your sensibilities. On many occasions and almost each detour, my friends and I would walk past participants who were drinking, dancing, displaying their assets and sometimes coupling. The natural laws and instincts took over. All of this is happening with very sensuous music around. It all depends on which camp you are frequenting. You can walk various small shops that offer free samples of their services. Every year, the Burning Man Festival seems to attract people from all over the world. I ran into a few guys from Canada and France. They said that once they found out about it, they make arrangements to take their annual vacation at this time. Lots of body piercings and tong piercings! You would think that this type of event attracts only people on the fringe. While a lot of dot-comers seem to be attending, normal, ordinary Joes and Janes are regular attendees too. By the sight of huge RVs parked around, you can tell that these people are successful professionals. It's true that this type of events tends to attract the creative folks such as artists, writers and actors. There are all kinds of performers around too.

Besides hitting the casinos and the Strip, plan to attend this annual Festival some time

If you don't ming getting painted in the nude, then Burning Man is for you. If the sight of hard-bodied, beautiful men and women jumping in the air and riding fake horses on wheels does not embarrass you, then you will be a good reveler. If the nude body of a beer-guzzling dude does not mean anything to you, then, you can really have fun around. If you can survive without the urban comforts you are used to, then head out to the next Burning Man Festival. Don't worry, people are more generous and polite than usual. Remember there are no boundaries. You can be whatever creatures or imaginative things you want to be on the Playa, in the desert grounds.

Warnings: If your religion and principles don't allow you to be around alcohol, drugs, sex, sex en plein air, stay away. Or at least, don't step where these actions are taking place. You will find everything and anything that the larger society has to deal with. After all, you are in Nevada, far away from civilization. You will also receive solicitations from all kinds of people to join them in the fun.

Have fun and stay safe above all. Don't break the laws. You don't have to if you don't want to. Just be a tourist like the thousands of others in this type of carnival. Don't worry about attending. Every year, during the week before Labor Day, you will have a chance to celebrate at the Playa.

In 1999 , my husband and I flew to Las Vegas after having spent one week in Anaheim California.

We had booked into Bally's and were there for one week.

Bally's is an older Hotel on the strip and is across the road from Bellagio one of the most recent Hotels.

We were there when they had just finished building Paris and the New Aladdin was being re-built.

Once we had checked into Bally's, we went up to our room on the 26th floor.

We wanted non-smoking but as there were none available we had to have the room.

After looking round we eventually unpacked and went to bed.

The rooms were very nice and spacious. We couldn't wait to snuggle on down as we had got there quite late and were very tired.

At about 4am we were rudely woke with very noisy music.

This went on for about an hour.

With being so high up I couldn't see where the loud music was coming from, so I went down in the elevator to investigate.

I went to the reception and the receptionist there couldn't care less.

I asked if we could be moved as I was worried that this would happen every night.

She said come back tomorrow and they will look to see if there were any free rooms then.

She was quite off-hand

On the way up to my room, I came across two security men who I asked what the noise could be, they came into our room and by then the music had stopped.

I felt such a fool, I bet they thought I was drunk.

Maybe it was next door falling asleep with their TV on.

Anyway the next day we got moved to another room, we unpacked again and settled in.

Then I noticed that the sofa had lumps of food on it, I phoned down to housekeeping who said they couldn't clean it but would we like another room.

No we just want it cleaned that's all.

They insisted on moving us, then again we unpacked in our now third room at Bally's and I went to have a wash.

The stopper for the plug hole was broke, so again we couldn't use the sink as water wouldn't stay in the basin.

Again we rang housekeeping who put us through to maintainenace, they said we would have to move.

As we were moving out, a man appeared who said this was his room, your'e welcome to it we said.

Eventually we went down to reception and went to customer services.

The lady there was very helpful she gave us a free breakfast and upgraded our room to a Grand Suite.

To be honest all we wanted was the little things done, not to keep moving rooms.

The porter took all the luggage up to our room , I don't know who was more surprised at us staying in the Grand Suite.

We screamed when we walked through the door.

There was a 28'' TV, a computer with internet.

A massive, massive bed, an open plan bathroom with steps leading from the bedroom area up to the massive jacuzzi.

There were his n hers wash basins, two wardrobes, a hairdryer, tissues in a gold box, loads of oversized toiletries, two telephones, one in the toilet, a shower, a bidet.

It was magnificent.

The thing is now, we have been spoilt and we want it again.

There are 2814 rooms in Bally's and we had tried 4 of them within a day.

There were plenty of restaurants and shops in Bally's, there was a state of the art health spa, I didn't go.

We never saw the pool, we didn't bother to sunbathe as we came on this special holiday to see the magnificent hotels.

We saw an Elvis show, with somebody named Connolly.

He did Elvis songs along with some rock songs to confuse you.

He was very good. We gambled only on the slots, we were nervous of the roulette.

In England the nearest place we have been compared to Las Vegas is Blackpool.

This town has lots of amusement arcades and slots, but the jackpots are only about £10 .

It's all very glittery especially when Blackppol illuminations are on.

After going to Las Vegas, Blackpool looked all dirty and littery.

Apparently it is all going to get refurbished to look like a mini Las Vegas.

We are going back to Las Vegas this October, we will be staying at Harrah's, I wonder what their Grand Suites are like.

We are not that fussy really, but as the nice receptionists said , you have complained in such a nice manner that they give us what we want.

Who does not want to go to Las Vegas?

Families and Non Gamblers and thats about all.

The people of Las Vegas , realizing this decided to make this city of neon and gambling a city that was ''family friendly''

Well they have succeded and Im sure Bugsy Siegal is rolling over in his grave.

Las Vegas used to be the city of decadence , show girls and ''The Rat Pack'' but is now the city of roller coasters , family fun and kids, kids ,and more kids.

Is this a bad thing?

No, not at all.

I have always thought of Las Vegas as the adult town with adult entertainment, Wayne Newton , and quickie marriages but all that is changing.

Las Vegas still offers the usual adult fare but now is becoming more accomodating to the family crowd and the kids.

Many rides have been developed along with baby sitting services and the city has combined the both to offer Mom and Dad a reprieve to enable them to hit the casinos while the kids are supervised and having fun in the many galleries and attractions this city has developed for them to enjoy.

In the old days you never saw a child in the casino , and that mostly remians today but what you do see is megga hotels with megga casinos and family entertainment combined.

Pirates of the Carribean is a show for the family that is outside a major hotel that is worth taking the kids to.

Many other attractions are kid worthy also and your travel agent can advise which ones are suitable for children.

Although Las Vegas was my escape to the adult world for many years and I would never consider taking my children there it is acceptable to take kids , grandparents and anyone now.

I love Las Vegas , don't get me wrong.. but would my children love it ?

Naw.. I don't think so ...
