I visited Nehru Children's museum in Exide crossing in Kolkata and it is the worst museum I have ever stepped into because no collections in the museum touched my mind and it is so valueless and worthless that you will not be enriched .Kids or children of our family also disliked .No tourists go and visit this .We on the first floor found only a few toys or fun toys which all are available at home or video parlour but they don't match with the name of a museum .We respect the term museum because it dates back to history and gives us data and info about a nation or territory but on the second floor we only saw miniature models that depict the Ramayana and on the top floor the Mahabharata and they are not even protected or maintained and a little turnished .No emphasis on past or the city of Kolkata is found .This footling museum is congested and very small .Now a days tourists think twice as many new museums have come and overshadowed this old children museum. There is no arrangement of drinking water and no cafeteria is there .All are bogus .We got tired and it was wastage of money .Don't go and if you go you will repent .

Children must visit

I visited Nehru Children's Museum at the age of 11 which is just opposite to Haldiram's restaurant at Exide stoppage.

My parents took me there. Nehru Children's Museum is a project of National Cultural Association. The museum is the collection of old arts and ancient toy craft which children will enjoy a lot. It also depicts how in the earlier periods, the toys used to be and with what materials they were prepared at household only. The objective of the association is to impart education to children through informal means and make the mode of learning more acceptable to the children.

The museum remains open for the visitors on Wednesday through Sunday from 11 AM to 07 pm. It remains close on Monday & Tuesday. Children will get the experience of new adventure which you will find only in this part of India. I still recall my old memories.
