I have been to this place on Feb'18, 2012. This is the second time I've been to this place, earlier with BOA colleges now with friends.
I have booked the tickets @ Aptdc [Yatri Nivas, Begumpet] for 2000/- for a group of four to cover Nagarjuna Sagar and Ettipotala Water falls.
We've started from Yatri Nivas, Begumpet from APTDC operated bus at 7:00 AM. We've reached Nagarjuna Sagar at 12:30. Here we had lunch at APTDC accommodation point. People who are not aware of this place and have to taste from other areas which are just average and worst too are charged high.
On the way your bus would stop for you to get the glimpse of Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. The picture attached is taken so. The bridge where your bus stops would not be allowed when the gates of dam are opened.
From here we start to Nagarjuna Konda and this is the best part of trip. You'll enjoy the ferry ride going in lush blue waters. Though they are life jackets in the ferry, they would not be provided to us. They charge Rs.90/- per head for both to and fro. If possible try to board small ferry as you can feel water coming in and out of the ferry. Do get seats far from engine place as you'll need to inhale the smoke from the engine. Though the water remains still, you'll see tides ala a sea. Enjoy the sound of water.
After 45min we reach Nagarjuna Konda a small island amidst water. This halt is for 2 hours. Here we can see the remains of famous sage Nagarjuna, you can see the miniature description in the museum here and bath ghats. Spend your time taking pictures. The best time to come here is post rainy season as the greenery would make you stick to this place. As I've been here in February every plant seemed dried up.
There's canteen here near to bath ghats and obviously charge extra.
Back to Nagarjuna Sagar place -> we now start to Ettipotala falls. By the time you reach here it is evening and you'll miss taking pictures of falls. You'll not be allowed near falls. If you walk down here you'll reach crocodile place. Early to this place would let you click pictures.
Monkeys is a real torture here.
We've taken food items along with us plus packs of Tropicana's to quench thirst and hunger.
If you go by APTDC you've to go and spend your time by their discretion. If it is through your own transport then you'll have nice time.
Please charge you cameras and get the memory card full. Enjoy your trip!
- Thank You! We appreciate your effort.
