Mujhse Dosti Karoge Songs Movie Reviews

Wannabe Friend???
Apr 10, 2006 09:02 PM 3978 Views

I just glanced at the reviews wanted section and saw the name of Mujhse Dosti Karoge Album. Hmm... I just recollected and refreshed my memory and remembered that I bought this cassette about 3-4 years before.

Well of course there was a great publicity about this album being a Yash Raj Production. Infact there were not many musical hits during that period and I was really getting bored of listening all those oldies repeatedly. So this album was enough an excuse to break this monotony. Not much but Rs. 40 to go out of pocket and I bought it.

I saw the leaflet to see the name of the music director. It was Rahul Sharma (not heard much about him at that time). The lyrics were by the great shri Anand Bakshiji.

Coming to the music track. Well it is a soft music album, as I can say. I listened to all the songs in one sitting and infact I liked them. There are actually 5 original songs with one repeated and one instrumental. But the medley impressed me a lot. Its actually a parody of many old songs sung continuously. This makes it a total 8 tracks in the album.

Andekhi anjani...(sung by Udit ji and Lata ji) and Jaane dil mein (sung by Lata ji and Sonu ji) are almost of the same type. Both are 16 beat and soft songs with almost the same music types. Infact these are the soul of this album.

Then comes the song Saanwali si ek ladki(sung by Udit ji) is also of the same type and is a soft song with good rhythmic music

Then comes Oh my Darling(sung by Alisha Chinai and Sonu Nigam) is a funky, party song. Infact I like it for the guitar music piece in it.

Last comes the title song (sung by Asha ji, Alka ji and Udit ji). Its also a good musical and truly can sing 4 ur friends.

As I told in the beginning that this album was good enough to break the monotony, Its not that great. But certainly it will always be a pleasure to listen to its songs.

So happy listening!!!!!!!11

Mujhse Dosti Karoge....Album Sun Ne Ke Baad??

I was half and half about the movie. But I was a great fan of the album. The music director was Rahul Sharma and he has made a very good job of it. I think this may have been his debut, as I cannot recall any more albums featuring his name. If I am wrong, please tell me and I will edit this review.

I bought this album as an offer. There was a thing on at Lalas Asian Entertainment Centre that if you spend £25 or more, then you will get one of the following albums free;

Moksha, Nayee Padosan, Maseeha or Mujhse Dosti Karoge

I picked Mujhse Dosti Karoge as I had watched the film ages ago, but never really concentrated on the soundtrack.

Now, you tell me, did I make the right decision or not?

Track 1 - Andekhi Anjani Si

This track is sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Udit Narayan. It was a pleasure to hear 2 of my favourite singers. Lataji still sounds so young and youthful in this song (please check out my review on her 20 best) whereas Udit Narayan's voice is always bouncing with youth and calmness. Lyrics are just your regular hindi movie.

Andekhi Anjani Si, Pagli Si Deewani Si,

Jaane Woh Kaisi Hogi Re.

Chori Se, Chupke Chupke,

Behti Hai Dil Me Chhuphke,

Jaane Woh Kaisi Hogi Re.

----------

Track 2 - Jaane Dil Mein

This is one of my favourite songs ever, sung by 2 of my favourite singers, Lata Mangeshkar again and this time Sonu Nigam. They have sung this so well, especially Lataji and it is one of my favourite Lata Mangeshkar songs. It is filled with romance and peace, and it is a very modest song. I love the lyrics as well, and I could listen to this song all day long!

Rating: 10

Jaane Dil Mein Kabse Hai Tu,

Jabse Main Hoon Tabse Hai Tu,

Mujhko Mere Rab Ki Kasam,

Yaara Rab Se pehle Hai Tu

----------

Track 3 - Sawnli Si Ek Ladki

This song is quite romantic and is one to do the step-step to. I love the guitar in the background. Udit Narayan has sung this song well. The lyrics are nice as well. This is a very clicky song which stays in your head for ages. It may be another typical Bollywood song, but its a nice one! Hands up to Udit Narayan. He really is a great singer

Uski Ghani Zulfon Mein, Kiski Taqdeer Hai,

Uski Haseen Aankhon Mein, Kiski Tasveer Hai,

Aata Nahin Mujhko Yaakeen, Par,

Kahin Woh Main To Nahin

----------

Track 4 - Oh My Darling

Quite a change from the hunky munky ballads heard in this album, this song is strong, powerful and just modern nightclub stanza. It really has no point. It has been sung well by Alisha Chinoi and Sonu Nigam, however I am not really a fan of these kind of songs. Some people can make mixing English with Hindi work e.g. It’s The Time To Disco

Rating: 7

Aaj Ke Ladke I Tell You, Kitne Lalu, What To Do,

Koi Mujhe Pooche How Are You, Koi Mujhe Bole How Do You Do,

Kabhi Koi Mujhse Na Kahe, Oh My Darling, I Love You

---------

Track 5 – Mujhse Dosti Karoge

Yawn, we stumble across another typical Bollywood song which didn’t have to be there. However, this one, unlike Sawnli Si Ek Ladki, this song wasn’t much in my favour. To tell the truth, it bored me. The voices of Asha Bhonsle, Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam played no fault in this. It really wasn’t their fault. They sang to their best. The problem is one can’t excel in songs like this.

Rating: 6

Kehdo Ki Tum Mere Dil Me Rahogi,

Kehdo Ki Tum Mujhse Dosti Karogi,

Dekhungi, Sochungi,

Kal Padso Kuch Kahungi

-----------

Track 6 – Jaane Dil Mein

Exactly the same opinion as there was for the first one. The only difference is that I think the lyrics in this song are a tiny bit more effective (probably because it is shorter.)

Rating: 10

Acha Hai Haste Huwe Ho Jaaye Hu Tum Juda,

Yeh Koi Na Poochle Who Humsafar Kaun Tha,

Ab To Mujhe Yaad Nahi Saath Mera Kabse Hai Tu

Saath Mere Kabse Hai Tu

----------

Track 7 – Terrific Tina

It’s fast, pacey, great leading instrument….do I like it??

Yep!!!

Rating: 9

(no lyrics sorry. But please check out the song!)

----------

Track 8 – The Medley

This is one of my favourite songs from the album. This medley features some of our favourite songs from both new and old times like:

Yeh Galiyan Ye Chaubara

Pardesia, Ye Sach Hai Piya

Main Nikla Gadi Leke

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Bachna Ae Haseeno

Mehndi Lagake Rakhna

Please check it out, it’s great. It really does get you dancing and most people I know love it. It's not a remix its just a remake and a fun song

''MUJHSE DOSTI KARGOGE''
Aug 05, 2002 03:57 PM 4826 Views

MUSIC REVIEW ''MUJHSE DOSTI KAROGE''……. ROOFTOP ROMANCE Its great news for the movie buffs. Dr. Lata Mangeshkar , a paragon of excellence , is back with her invincible and infallible charming voice.

Mujhse Dosti Karoge (MDK) is the latest seasons flavour of a mouth watering candy , the taste of which sustains till the last track of the album. ''Yash Chopra'' a man in love with love, dishes out another candyfloss romance laced with an enviable star caste , spectacular setup, lush locales, lilting music and the usual razzle dazzle. ''MDK' … directed by a film critic turned director Kunal Kohli is the latest trump card out of Yash Chopra pack. As far as musical compositions are concerned , this flick too carries an indelible stamp of highly entertaining and likable music. The combination of the debuntante Rahul Sharma , son of the celebrated santoor maestro Pt. Shiv kumar Sharma, and indisputable lyricist late Anand Bakshi has genuinely produced some sugar coated melodies to be embraced by the music lovers of all generation thus successfully carrying the romantic image of the producer.

The curtains are up with a thumpy track ''Andekhi anjani' ,embellished by young and yuppy singing by Lata Mangeshkar and udit Narayan ,it has all the elements of a chartbuster . Lush orchestrals , metallic beats and breezy singing makes this number a surefire hit. Its really amazing how Lataji matches her voice with the character quarter of her age. ''Jaane dil Me' is a lovely track laced with a cool and cosy singing by Lataji and Sonu nigam . Here Sonu Nigam has given 100% with his matured and subdued voice never going overboard , making the track the best of the lot. ''Saanwali ek' is Udit Narayans show case all the way. Essentially a teaser it lifts the face value of the album. ''O My Darling'' , performed by popstar Alisha Chinoy and sonu Nigam is a naughty track strictly for the teens.A fast and foot tapping track it elevates the box office success of the film. The title track 'Mujhse…..'' is a feast of talent coming together to vouch for a super track. The intoxicating voice of Asha Bhonsle and the duo of Udit and Sonu make it a happy listening. The track does carry the echoes of Late R.D. Burman. It is essentially a Yash chopra brand of music. Now coming to ''medley'', it is a matter of mixed feeling. Highly compromising, its too long and tiring.

Its high time that even confident moviemakers succumb to time tested items which some time fall flat on the face. An absolute no! no!. Please , no more mimicries in the name of medleys. All in all , stay tuned to relax in a cosy evening. created by Anand Potdar
