This is what happened with my wife recently, she has seen many dietitians but nothing seemed to be going right. Here is her experience in her own words:


For somebody who had almost begun to look for clothes in the maternity section because they fit easily, these words were unbelievable. I just didn’t cry because it was a public place and I didn’t want to embarrass the husband.


And the credit for this change in my life goes to Shuchi. I have met Shuchi only once because I live outside of India. But that hasn’t been a hindrance at all. She is there for me whenever I need her – more like a friend than a dietician.


I have been on diets she has created for three months now and I can see and feel the difference. I have lost around five kilos (although Shuchi discourages you to go by a weighing scale, which is a huge relief), and everybody I meet is telling me how I have lost “tons of weight”.


Shuchi isn’t making me starve. She gives me a lot of good, healthy, solid food to eat. Lots of fruits and protein.  And she keeps changing the diet so I never get bored. Her diet combined with an hour of exercise every day has helped me immensely. And because I have lost some weight, the multiple cysts in my ovaries have also reduced.


The best part about Shuchi is that she doesn’t set targets for you. There is no pressure and that, somehow, makes you want to stay disciplined. She makes you feel like she is in this with you. She motivates you and makes you realize that you need to do this for yourself not because people are telling you you’re fat.

Losing weight and gaining compliments :-)

I have always been conscious about my weight and appearance. But, after having two babies in a span of two and a half years I had accumulated the all the extra weight(12 kilos) and couldn't seem to get rid of. I had tried many diet programs in the past 5 years, but it just didn't seem to work.


That's when I decided to take Shuchi's help and have to admit, I was a little scared about starving to death. But the diet plans she has been giving me, it seems to me that I start eating(prescribed portions, ofcourse) from the minute I wake up till it's almost bedtime.


Despite of her being in Mumbai and me in Delhi, her diet seems to be doing wonders for me. I have lost 5.5 kilos in the less than a month and a half. Along with her diet plans, she also gave me some good recipe's which I could use to bring variation in my diet taste. Last month and a half I have been religiously following her diet plans and have been working out as much as I can(but not less either).


I have been eating yummy food and not missing out on anything that I would crave for. She even let's me have alcohol once a week.:)


It's a great feeling to be fitting into my old clothes and people telling me that I have lost weight. I can't thank her enough for bringing about this change in my life.


Damn! I lost 10 KGs lost in 2 months

I met Shuchi in 2012 and decided to take her consultation right after meeting her for the first time. I felt that because she had been through the weight issues herself it would be easy for her to relate to my frustrating journey with food. I have to admit I was skeptical about her diet plan at first. But I have been completely blown away with the results. Since I have been on her diet plan I have experienced good energy throughout the day and also immense satisfaction. As a consequence I've had no cravings whatsoever even for a tiny bit of chocolate(which i'm crazy about). It's been 2+ months and i've not had and neither craved for chocolate. I have never felt starved.not even 1 day.


She has never asked me to completely avoid anything but only to the extent possible. I'm so satisfied with the options she has given me that I can never go back to my old habits. I'm loving this plan immensely. I keep looking forward to every meal. My consultations with her lasted 2 months and in that period itself I've lost 10 kgs. Of course I do workout hard for almost 2 hrs 6 days a week. But her diet is giving me the energy to put myself through those intense workouts. I have never experienced a lack of energy during my workouts, I only stop my workouts because honestly 2 hrs a day is really quite a lot and I have to tell myself there is another day to workout.


I do weight training atleast 4 days a week but I do not take any protein supplements/fat burners whatsoever as she has so far not recommended them. Trust me I'm not sore with my workouts which is quite unusual cos earlier I would work with much much lesser weights and would be sore all the time! Infact it would worry me that how come i'm not sore even though I do quite a lot of sets to failure. This made me realize the a good and clean diet can do such wonders for the body. I have even noticed big improvements in my skin and hair texture.


Now I have been through numerous ups and downs with my weight over the years and while earlier whenever I started working out my food cravings would increase so much that the exercises would eventually become ineffective. But not this time - not even once have I felt that I need to increase the portions recommended by her. I strictly follow her diet plan right to the exact measurements - and even though she has asked me to include cheat meals .I don't even feel like having one. not because i'm worried about the calories but I just enjoy the plan so much.


I still have about 10 kgs more to lose and Shuchi had been telling me that once i'm done with the weight loss I should gradually increase my intake. Now that would be difficult as i'm so full with the quantities i'm currently taking.but surely I shall consult her again on maintaining weight once i've lost the excess fat.

For the past three years I was finding a constant weight gain every few months. I cut down on my food intake and made my workouts more intense. The end result was fatigue, frustration and severe muscle injury with no weight loss at all. That's when I turned to Shuchi though I must admit I was a little unsure about referring to a dietician. I was always under the impression that dieticians starved their clients or put them on really boring mono diets which don't work in the long term.


Shuchi pleasantly surprised me. I signed up with her for a daily diet plan and she made my diet intake extremely nutritious with a combination of all food groups, also assisted me with interesting recipes and ensured that I ate a very healthy diet, despite her being in Mumbai and me in New Delhi. She even let me cheat every Saturday with a few glasses of wine which was like icing on the cake. And Voila, here I am, 3.5 kgs down in a month's time, going easy on my workouts, glowing due to all the healthy food that I have been eating and feeling on top of the world. I am all set to flaunt my brand new fitted jeans.

Dancing my way to a new me!

Before I met shuchi I was completely lost as to what my diet should be like. I used to starve for a few days and eat like a maniac for the next few. Needless to say I gained weight (20 KGs to be precise).Yeah! that's too much. It was a complete shock for me because I never thought that I could gain so much weight.


Scared as hell, I joined a gym. This is where I was introduced to Shuchi Mehta. I had my own notions about nutrition consultants. The most I've thought of and heard people say is, that they put you on a weighing scale and make you feel horrible about yourself, but Shuchi has been like a breath of fresh air.


She did not once make me feel bad about being fat. I've been consulting her for one and a half months now and she hasn't put me on the scale even once. My diets are superb and sometimes I don't even feel like I'm on a diet. I'm even allowed to consume alcohol once a week. Her diets are easy to follow, I get to eat after intervals of 2 hours and I've lost 7 KGs, all thanks to her.


Due to my work schedules I keep travelling and I was surprised as how she kept me motivated through regular follow ups (even if I was not available face to face for a session).


It has been almost effortless for me. Because really starving would make me go nuts, and the best part is that you don't have to be scared of her. She's approachable and available to you even on the phone. Its not like you have to wait for your session to come so you can ask a question. Its been great so far and I hope to keep consulting her in the future.

Lifestyle changes through weight management

Through my life, I had consulted dietitian's from time to time, but could never stick to a diet due to my erratic work hours, travel, etc and it all ultimately ended with reducing followup's and determination to reduce weight/ fat.


Recently I consulted this Mumbai based dietitian and though I am in Delhi and she in Mumbai, she did not let it be a deterrent for the consultation. While she has some daily diet programs(spread over weekly to monthly), I thought let me play safe and start with a normal consultation. We started with a normal consultation sessions(each at a gap of 10 days). The first consultation was relatively long chat, as she understood about my lifestyle, eating habits, travel, stress, etc before she started telling me what changes I should look at.


Post the first session, in a short while I received my diet plan in my e-mail and after following the diet my perspective to weighing less and losing weight changed. All my life I had a certain routine to eating. I hated eating coz all I thought was food will make me FAT. The day she gave me a new diet to follow, my opinion on food changed. I love food and I think if you eat right and eat less and more frequently you can lose weight. 10 days is all it took for me to lose 3 kgs and I followed her program to the “T”.


The workout and diet plan has worked wonders for me and I feel lighter now. I still need to reach my ideal weight but now I know it’s not far away and it’ll take me a few more days to get there. I know now what works for me and I want to sustain this diet for a long long long time to come.


My eating habits have changed for good and I am very happy with the results.
