Mouchak Restaurant (Hotel Bengal), Nainital

Located at the Mall Road, Nainital, Mouchak Restaurant is your go-to place for having delicious Bengali cuisines while on a vacation. With quick service and great food at affordable prices, this place will surely win your hearts.

The place is well-maintained and the staff is friendly too. However, at rush hours you may find it difficult to find a place to sit. Proper hygiene is maintained while serving the dishes and the tables are well-kept too.

The restaurant boasts a number of ethnic Bengali cuisines like Aloo Posto, Fish Curry Mushurir Daal, Allobhaja, Fried Fish, Egg Curry, Tadka Dal, Macher kalia and Kochi panthar Jhol. The last time I visited Nainital with my friends, we ordered Fine rice, shukto( a pure Bengali recipe), Mochar Torkari( a curry of banana flower) and Hilsa Fish with Mustard. All the dishes were lip-smacking, especially the Hilsa Fish. The prices were too not high enough to make you feel poor!

However, the music was not on while we were having the lunch. This could be a problem for some. You can also book a lodging here, as the restaurant is situated in a hotel.

Mauchak is a fantastic restaurant owned by a Bengali in the hill station of Nainital.Before we went to Nainital we had heard that a Bengali gentleman named Mr.Sadananda GuhaMazumdar is running a Bengali restaurant in Nainital.We entered and really discovered the taste and hygiene of food was awesome .All staffs were serving food covering hands and the pots and utensils were glisteringly clean.We ordered fine rice, shukto( a pure Bengali recipe), begunbhaja(fried eggplant), aluposto( potato with poppyseed), mochar torkari( a curry of banana flower), hilsa fish with mustard( it was yummy because we never imagined a recipe of hilsa could be so delicious on mountain), although it was expensive .Music was not on and we didn't expect music to be on.We only expected good food that would fulfill our cravings of food far away from home.Neither we booked seat nor we expected a foreign environment .I have fallen in love and I am sure if in future again I go there, I must pay a visit to this restaurant named Mauchaak in Nainitaal, authentic Bengali food is available here .
