Morachi Chincholi, Mayur Baug Reviews

Basic amenities and overly priced
Jul 07, 2019 05:36 PM7266 Views

We had visited Mauli Krishi Paryatan Kendra on 29th June 2019 and stayed overnight . This Kendra is on off road away from the main road so there is no traffic noise. Ample parking space is available in front of the gate. Lot of flowering plants are planted that is why lot of birds like sun birds, red vented bulbul, Baya weaver, stone chat, Jungle babbler, drongo, butterflies can be seen. You can get lot of breeze in the afternoon also there are number of trees around. Overall quite and beautiful place.

Dinning area: It is open from three sides one can see birds and peacocks while having food, offers a very small less than half feet kaddappa and plastic stools to sit for food. Self service is available if more crowd and also you have to lift your plates and cups after food. Seating can be improvised by providinchairs.

Food is home made rural style two vegetables one dal( poor taste) with home made clarified butter(Ghee) Indrayani rice(hot), Jowar Bhakari, pickle, thecha, 2 chutneys, papad which are usually soggy as they fry 3-4 hrs before food time. Dinner is served 8.30 p.m. and time is strictly followed whether you are hungry or not the owners are not bothered about the guest. Again the pappad were soggy as they were fried at 6.00 pm and we had food at 9.00 p.m. and it was blamed on weather. In dinner you will get chapati .Tea is served in ceramic cups if less people and is of good quality otherwise in smallest steel glasses and bad quality tea if more people. Breakfast timing is not followed there is no choice in breakfast only poha with ground nut curry along with tiniest lemon pieces. Poha taste was very poor the onion was not cooked properly also if you are not eating poha you may get upma(that to telling in advance previous day) the onion and tomatoes were not cooked at all in upma and not properly mixed. Bananas were also there for breakfast. As the owner is from Varkari sampradya no non veg food is served. Evening tea is served with kanda bhajiya( which was served by the owner and was not included in the package) We had not demanded it was forcefully served at the wrong time( it was fried earlier and later on only two bhajiyas were freshly made and served hot rest was cold below in the plate)and the bhajiyas were salty. Why this kind of cheating they think people will not be able to make out.

No packaged drinking water(mineral) is provided though it is mention in their website they will provide the packaged drinking water. RO filter water is provided. But to be on safer carry your own water.

Rooms: Room is sufficient for two people with one light in the entire room. One wall mounted table fan attached away from the bed. When voltage is low there is dim light and fan speed is less. If you will insist on to put on inverter the owner will on the inverter otherwise no. No light is available on wash basin mirror. Wash basin is outside the bathroom. Hot water is available. but if you want in the middle of the day the owner will open the valve, Iron Bed with hard( local mattress) No chair in the room is provided. Old square TV(Benton) with bad quality picture tube with Tata sky connection few channels available. Door latch is half broken when told to owner the reply was I do not stay here so I do not know.

Next day they provided the bathing soap that to duplicate and manufacturing date 2.09.16. so you may get expired product.

Be careful . Please carry your own towels and soap.

Next day the owner's wife used the room for her morning routine. How disgusting when you are charging so much and you are giving used rooms to the guest.

There are three such rooms 1600/-( Western commode) are available along with dormitory and two rooms 1200/-( Indian Style toilet). Very basic room with basic amenities.

The main star attraction of the place are peafowls who are very sensitive even the slightest movement they run away. There are 3-4 spots where you can watch the peafowls beside Iron tower, behind rooms, from tower and in the fields. The owner put Jowar seeds to peafowls., so you can watch closely but again you have to be very patient and careful. Around 12-15 peafowls can be seen at a time. During the rainy season you get to see mating dance too. The Iron tower is all rusty and you have to be careful while you climb especially kids and senior citizens.

The owner can put hide to watch the peafowls so that the photographers or the people can watch it comfortably and also peafowls can live peacefully. There is no tension of human presence.

There is one field water source(Shet tale) and well but owner will tell you they get water tankers for peafowls. Why such lies? They assume people are fools can be easily manipulated. We feel they are farmers but they are very much business minded people. Share anything and get money. So do not fall for it.

Rain dance facility is also available. But we didn't use it.

You can get fresh and good quality pomegranate if you tell the owner in advanced.

I really enjoy my last weekend at Morachi Chincholi. There are lots of fun i.e. bullock cart ride, tractor ride, puppet show, magic show. Food quality is good, here you can taste the real village food. If someone is planning to enjoy your weekend then Morachi Chincholi is best option because it is only the place where you can see lots of peacocks. I am happy to visit this place, overall experience is good.

Not good

By no means visit Mayur Baug at Morachi Chincholi, absolute waste of time and money. They fee Rs.450/- for day package, and leaves with you anger, frustration and regret and notably sheer waste of Rs.450/-. Absolute loopy lunch, no taste, absolutely oily.Additionally, in case you go to within the evening, easy access rate is Rs.One hundred/- for what? You'll get Tea& Kandaa Bhaji or Kanda Pakoda. So that you spend a hundred dollars for Pakoda and yuck tea, that too after spending 1 hour ready like a beggar in queue for pakoda. Other than the horrible enjoy, you'll hardly ever see any peacocks, which is probably atleast 400-500 Meters faraway from this location. That too in case you are fortunate. Except otherwise you'll get a trendy reply that on the grounds that nowadays many human beings are around, Peacock has run away, and will come after a while however they by no means turn up. Average an area one have to never visit, as you will remorse the way we did.

Typical a place one ought to in no way go to, as you may remorse the manner we did.

Time waste and money

This place is a sham and a HUGE disillusionment. To start with there are no reasonable bearings/signs headed straight toward go to this place and it took us very nearly 2.5 hours to reach here from Sahakar Nagar in the wake of halting and requesting headings at numerous focuses in transit. The section charge is Rs 500 for every individual which included breakfast, lunch, evening tea with nibble( they declined to give us a rebate despite the fact that we were coming to there by lunch just and were not eating) but rather there is positively no client administration or cleanliness in this place, every one of the general population working here are presumptuous, detached and just out to profit without giving any great involvement consequently. The woman at the ticket counter did not offer maps to us until I backpedaled and asked her what was there to do - there is nobody to direct either and the place is clamorously run. The eating spot was swarming with flies and I can't envision how it must be in the blustery season. The tea resembled sugar syrup, and the nourishment was all icy and dull, the cutlery and the containers were the most reduced quality, the plates were not wiped dry. It is a joke on whoever lands there.the proprietor who is the sarpanch I accept has a money cow his identity draining energetically in view of some shrewd promoting. On talking with every one of the general population who were going by there in the meantime as us, plainly each and every one of them was greatly baffled with this place and feeling conned. I would unequivocally prescribe to avoid this place as the primary fascination - the peacocks-is likewise a major joke.u are encouraged to take binoculars if u need to see them obviously. Run by'chors' who need to profit off from the innocent'mors'. Kindly don't squander your time or cash on this place!

Morachi chincholi the Best weekend getaway
Oct 17, 2016 05:54 PM14824 Views

I visited morachi chincholi in last week with my family.I must say I've never visited such a nice place . We all are busy in our daily routine, it gives us a welcome escape from our hectic daily schedule. We were so interested to experience the authentic culture of India.so one of my friend suggested me about morachi chincholi. So we planned a one day trip at Morachi chincholi. At morachi chincholi we enjoyed all sorts of outdoor games that we used to play in our childhood. We taste the lip smacking rural food prepared on traditional chulha's. First time, at Morachi chincholi I saw the real life peacock. All the moments spent at Morachi chincholi was memorable.

Greate Place Must visit
Feb 25, 2016 12:53 PM19850 Views

I visited Morachi Chincholi with my family in weekend. It is an awesome place for enjoyment.I saw dancing peacocks and enjoyed bullock Cart ride. Had a very good time.Everybody is looking for a break from the hectic routine of city life. And often it is not possible to take a long vacation. A day trip in rustic village surroundings provides the right change required to rejuvenate and face the city life with a new zeal. Experience the wonders of pollution free air and in the heart of the rustic village life.

TOTAL RIPOFF-should be called 'Chorachi' chincholi
Jan 30, 2016 01:20 AM21351 Views

This place is a ripoff and a HUGE disappointment. First there are no clear directions/ signs on the road to go to this place and it took us almost 2.5 hours to reach here from Sahakar Nagar after stopping and asking for directions at multiple points on the way.

The entry fee is Rs 500 per person which included breakfast, lunch, evening tea with snack( they refused to give us a discount even though we were reaching there by lunch only and were not having breakfast) but there is absolutely no customer service or hygiene in this place, all the people working here are arrogant, apathetic and only out to make quick money without giving any good experience in return. The lady at the ticket counter did not give maps to us until I went back and asked her what was there to do - there is no one to guide either and the place is very chaotically run. The eating place was swarming with flies and I cannot even imagine how it must be in the rainy season. The tea was like sugar syrup, and the food was all cold and tasteless, the cutlery and the cups were the lowest quality, the plates were not even wiped dry.

It is a joke on whoever lands there.the owner who is the sarpanch I believe has a cash cow who he is milking with all his might based on some clever marketing. On speaking with all the people who were visiting there at the same time as us, it was clear that every single one of them was extremely disappointed with this place and feeling conned.

I would strongly recommend to stay away from this place as the main attraction - the peacocks- is also a big joke.u are advised to take binoculars if u want to see them clearly. Run by'chors' who want to make money off from the innocent'mors'. Please do not waste your time or money on this place!

Jai Malhar Krishi Partayak Kendra Alias Mayur Baug
Aug 26, 2014 05:02 PM33961 Views

Jai Malhar Krishi Partayak Kendra, Chincholi Morachi, Pune NAME sounds like its very big brand name in Chincholi Morachi, true brand wise it is very famous & ad, on internet & every corner you find hording & board which will guide you to reach the place, but actually it is waste of MONEY. We have reached there by 11:30 & at the gate they are charging you 450 / person or more as per rush & provide you coupon of the same like for snacks, ride, tractor ride, even water too. so if you have water coupon then you can take water else you have to travel to main gate & discuss with in charge, again they will give you water coupon to get water from snacks section, which is ridiculous,  this please is completely commercial by the people who just know few things about business, even if you want bullock cart ride, they need coupon after 2 rides, Food is also limited.

They are playing very loud music with no sense & inside people who are from village is having free access, they come inside to sell fruit & other products which are usually a base product of Chincholi.

You will hardly find more then couple of peacocks, & that also come for few minute only. It is better to go other small agro tourism Kendra which are better than this place. If you want to enjoy your day after hectic weekend then BIG NO for this place. When I complain about the services the owner said that today due to rush we are unable to manage, if they think that they are unable to manage people they should stop admission after a certain count. But they are purely into making MONEY.

We Pune people are very tech savvy, hope this will help to other fellow who are planning for this place. We have wasted our 2700 INR. Hope this will help to others. I suggest this place, village is good, and people are good but Jai Malhar Krishi Partayak Kendra, Chincholi Morachi is ruining the name of this place., better go for other Agro tourism or just carry few snacks for couple of hour & in return you can have dinner on highway, as highway is close to this place.

Thanks!

Very loud and insensitive development
Jan 01, 2013 04:34 PM16619 Views

This place loud music which can be heard in the entire surroundings. The point of visiting a place like Morachi Chicncholi is to enjoy the peaceful serene atmosphere there and observe the peacocks in their natural surroundings. But the loud blaring music from Mayur Baug spoils the tranquility of the place and the peacocks dont venture close by. This defeats the basic purpose of a visit to the place.

They should show some sensitivity and respect towards others privacy instead of mindlessly commercialing it.

Went to Mayur Baug, Morachi Chincholi on 14th July 2012 along with family. Had visited the same place a couple of years back, but that the time experience was good, totally in contrast to horrid experience we had in our latest visit. They charged 300 INR as entry package fee (Lunch + Breakfast = Package). Lunch menu was horrible. Tasteless food, oily snacks with a very poor service. There is no one to guide you or tour you around the place. The amusement park was occupied by the village kids (guess free access to them), other good places where family can sit and relax were occupied by the local youths, who were playing loud music and being nuisance. No thought has been put in hanging tree swings.

My niece met an accident while taking a swing, as she banged her head against a tree parapet. There was no first aid kit nor any doctor at the facility, she had to be driven 3 kms to fetch doctor. Most of the facilities lack maintenance. Evening they provide Bhajji with Tea as snacks. Bhajji was oily, soggy and cold. Believe they were fried in afternoon itself. Tea too was not that hot. You get to see 5-6 peacocks at designated area where they come for feed. But we saw many more in village on our way back home.

All in all, a completely mis-managed agro resort. Not recommended.

Nice half-day outing for a weekend
Apr 05, 2011 12:04 PM26827 Views

I visited this place last weekend after reading about it over the internet so posting here only those facts that I beleive are not there on the internet, but necessary:

  1. I beleive the route via Nagar Rd - Shikrapur is better off than the route via Pabal and Pune Nashik Highway - the country side roads on the second route are not as good as the first one.

  2. Mayur Baug is one of the places within the village - they basically have the website and staying facilities set up well, thus we end up thinking of this as the village - which is not the case. Peacocks can actually be seen in the farms all over the village(we observed 3-4 peacocks even on the roads as we arrived in the village).

  3. Mayur Baug is setup well but they appeared pricy to me too and I can see from where the first review is coming. We need to understand that peacocks in this village are not in any captivity so there's no guarantee on what one would get to see. In general, peacocks stay away from people so any day/ time when there's crowd(more than 4-6 people), there's a high chance they'd not be anywhere near to where we are - be it Mayur Baug or anywhere else. So, the best bet is to be there on some morning when you don't expect any rush. We were there on a weekend morning around 6:30 and there was no one else visiting - we did see more than a dozen peacocks around.

Just to provide the right context - I had visited the place right up in morning leaving Pune around 5 AM to be at the place around 6:30 - the peacocks were around till 8:30 - and as our excitement got down to normal and we started to remain stationary, we observed that peacocks were more comfortable lurking in nearby farms to us.

Hope this helps!

Do not Waste your Time
Feb 04, 2010 01:16 PM19216 Views

Never visit Mayur Baug at Morachi Chincholi, absolute waste of time and money. They charge Rs.450/- for day package, and leaves with you anger, frustration and regret and above all sheer waste of Rs.450/-. Absolute crazy lunch, no taste, totally oily. Also, if you visit in the evening, simple entry fee is Rs.100/- for what ?

You will get Tea & Kandaa Bhaji or Kanda Pakoda. So you spend 100 bucks for Pakoda and yuck tea, that too after spending 1 hour waiting like a beggar in queue for pakoda. Apart from the terrible experience, you will hardly see any peacocks, which might be atleast 400-500 Meters away from this place.. that too if you are lucky. Unless otherwise you will get a standard reply that since today many people are around, Peacock has run away, and will come after some time but they never turn up.

Overall a place one should never visit, as you will regret the way we did.
