The first time I tasted Moosehead Beer was in Alaska! That is because, until a few years ago, the only place in Canada, that you could buy this beer, in Canada, was in the Province of New Brunswick.
.:The Company:.
The Brewery is in Saint John, New Brunswick. The Orlander family owns the Brewery, and it is the oldest Brewery in Canada.
They won't tell anyone what the ingredients so you will have to try an guess what they are, when you drink it. Moosehead is a lager, and that will help beer mavin, (experts), some help in guessing the recipe.
.:The Beer:.
The bottle is green, with a the head and antlers of a Moose on it.
The beer is brewed from a blend or two type of hops, a some blend of barley. This is done so it won't taste bitter, and have a refreshing scent. The cold water from Spruce Lake, is then added to give this beer a crip, clean taste.
When you pour the beer, it is a light yellow colour. If you tip your glass when you're pouring it, you won't get a lot of foam on the top. If you don't tip the glass, there is a lot of foam. I suggest you wait until the foam, goes down, before you take your first sip, because if you don't you will get a lot of gas, in your tummy, and we all know what happens after that.
You'll find the palate is not to carbonated, and has a medium body. When you take your first sip of the beer, you will taste the hops, but not for too long, and then you will taste the malt and some of the grains. The finish is dry with no after taste.
Most Canadian beers have a 5% ABV and this is more than the beers that are brewed in the United States. Moosehead only is made in 350 ml bottles.
I never drink warm beer, and alway buy is cold, from a Beer Store, or put it in the refrigerator for at least a half a day.
This is my favorite Canadian beer, and if you haven't tried it I hope you will.
.:Triva:.
A glass or two of beer with dinner is less fattening than a shared bottle of wine.
Some Doctors in the United States say that dark beer, because it has a lot of flavonoids, can help prevent blood clots, and open up arteries. The tests were done on dogs! They are looking for volunteers to test this on humans.

.:I'll End With A Beer Prayer:.
Our lager, Which art in barrels,
Mellow be thy name.
I will be drunk at home as I am in tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head.
Forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who bump against us.
Lead us not into incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and ever,
Barmen!
.:Remember:.
Please never drink and drive. If you don't have someone who is with you and is not drinking, (in Canada we call this person the designated driver), then take a bus or a taxi home.
