MINGS PALACE-A GOURMET TRAGEDY
Aug 11, 2006 01:16 AM2164 Views

We a group of seven friends(ladies & gents) visited this place in colaba near Electric House. With a very fond eating habits, are very regular to restuarants for dinners. This place being suggested by some known sources, we could not resist. Our ordeal started with the confused non literate steward / captain accepting our order and writing only what he wanted to serve and not what we wanted. Our order started with Soup(Hot & Sour), it was very pungent, very sweet and nothing sour about it.Before we somehow manage to finish it wispering our dislike and sub standard taste we were bombard by the starters, Barbeque Chicken which is deep fried and re-fried if not consumed in earlier lot and placed on the charcoal tray just for the name sake.We had to teach the staff that the starters should be served after the soup is finished or if we ask for before. We had to have cold and pathetic starter which we had to complain and the serving staff was not sure if they had served us with "Chicken sathe" or "Barbeque Chicken". peanut sauce was served on demand.

Main course was a bit better than the starters and soup.

Portion size very less compared to the steep price.

Ambience was good,no music and Airconditioner not working upto the mark, even though the restuarant was not fully occupied.

They were very careful in appointing the staff, they were like chinese product in indian markets, not at all pleasing but definately very cheap to the management.

If you are a chinese food lover avoid this place for good food's sake.
