Merit Swiss Asian School of Hotel Management, Ooty

M-SASH, As all meritors know it is there best place to be on earth during your period of learning and development.

This place has given me a lot and am proud to have been a part of this school and espevcially being a part of its FIRST Batch.

I remember those days when Merit was in its Foundational years and the way Mr. Sarangapani has shaped the future of the School as well of each and every lives associated with it.

I long for those days and cherish each and every moment that I had spent during my tenure at OOTY, The queen of Hills.

I am into touch with only a hand full of classmates and would like to get to know more and their whereabouts on this lovely planet.

The college is located at Ooty, a scenic hill resort extremely popular with domestic tourists. The surroundings are picturesque and there are several places of touristic interest in the vicinity. The college places a strong emphasis on the practical content of the course and is attached to the Southern Star hotel for training purposes. Students at this college have a unique opportunity to gain three qualifications in a duration of 3 years: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Tourism Management from Alagappa University. 2. Swiss Asian Diploma in Hospitality Management awarded by Merit 3. Hospitality Management Diploma from the American Hotel and Lodging Association. In addition students undergo a 6 month training placement in the second year of the course during which they can test their aptitudes for the various areas of specialization. Merit also has tie-ups and affiliations with reputed hotel schools and universities in Australia, Switzerland and USA so a student has ample opportunity to take up further studies abroad if he/she desires.
